About Snorlax Rugs
The coziest Pokémon, on your floor
Snorlax is the Pokémon of naps, snacks and doing absolutely nothing, which makes it the perfect Pokémon for a rug. The classic design is the belly: a big cream circle on a dark teal-blue round rug, with Snorlax's sleepy face peeking over the top. The other favorite is a Snorlax-shaped rug, the whole Pokémon sprawled out asleep, cut to its outline. Both are printed into soft velvet, and both go in the washing machine, which is fitting for a Pokémon that eats everything in sight.
His round, sleeping shape makes him one of the best Pokémon for a round rug.
A very big, very sleepy Pokémon
Snorlax is a Normal-type Pokémon from the first generation, number 143 in the National Pokédex. It stands about 6 feet 11 inches tall, around 2.1 meters, and weighs a famous 1,014.1 pounds, about 460 kilograms. According to the Pokédex, it does little but eat and sleep, needs hundreds of pounds of food a day before it's satisfied, and has a stomach that can digest just about anything, even food that's gone moldy. Then it falls asleep, wherever it happens to be.
That's what makes Snorlax so lovable: in a world of battles and adventures, it's the one that just wants a nap, and most of us can relate.
The belly on a round rug
Snorlax's round cream belly is one of the simplest and most effective Pokémon designs there is. On a round rug, 3.9 to 5.2 ft (120 to 160 cm) across, the belly fills the center and the dark body frames it, so the whole rug looks like you've stepped onto Snorlax itself. It's surprisingly calm as decor, two soft colors, cream and blue-green, which makes it suit a bedroom or a living room, not just a game room. Our round rugs page shows how each size looks in a room.
A Snorlax-shaped rug
Seen from above, Snorlax asleep on its back is a perfect shape for a rug: a big round body, small pointed ears, stubby arms and two huge, cream-padded feet. A shaped rug cut to that outline, in sizes from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm), looks like Snorlax has curled up for a nap on your floor. A large one in front of a sofa or a bed is a centerpiece no visitor will forget.
Snorlax in the doorway
In the original Pokémon Red and Blue, two sleeping Snorlax block the road, on Route 12 and Route 16, and the only way past is to wake them with the Poké Flute. Every player from that era remembers it. A Snorlax doorway design, the sleeping giant stretched across a 2×3 or 2.6×3.9 ft rug, is a perfect welcome mat for the front of a bedroom: anyone who wants in will have to wake it first.
Little Munchlax
Snorlax's pre-evolution, Munchlax, introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, is a small, round, always-hungry version of its big self, and it's adorable. A Munchlax design, a little round body clutching a snack, is a sweet rug for a nursery or a toddler's room, gentle and cheerful. For more ideas for little ones, see our kids and nursery rugs.
Gigantamax Snorlax
In Pokémon Sword and Shield, Gigantamax Snorlax grows so enormous that a little island of trees sprouts on its belly. It's a funny, almost peaceful image: a sleeping giant with its own tiny forest. A Gigantamax design suits a large rug in a living room, a rare Pokémon scene that also works as a whimsical landscape.
Snorlax and sleep
In 2023, the Pokémon Sleep app turned rest into a game, with Snorlax at its heart: the better you sleep, the more Pokémon gather around your Snorlax. It made Snorlax, more than ever, the Pokémon of the bedroom. A sleepy design, Snorlax dozing under a starry night sky, or a soft pattern of "zzz" and small Snorlax faces, is an ideal bedside rug, the first thing you step on in the morning and the last before you fall asleep.
A nap corner with a bean bag
Snorlax's lounging spirit has inspired plenty of oversized bean bags, and a Snorlax rug is the natural base for one. Put a round belly rug down in a corner, drop a big bean bag or floor cushion on it, add a throw blanket, a small lamp and a shelf of comics or games, and you have the coziest corner in the house. Choose Premium for this, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, about 700 g/m², the softest rug we make, warm enough to lie on directly.
Snack time
Snorlax's appetite is as famous as its naps. In the games and the anime, it empties fruit trees, raids picnics and finishes everyone else's lunch, and it's often drawn hugging an apple or a pile of berries. A snack-time design, Snorlax sitting up with a mountain of fruit in its arms, is a cheerful rug for a kitchen corner, a breakfast nook or the spot in front of the snack cupboard where a hungry family member always seems to be standing. On a kitchen floor, choose Standard for its non-slip back, and remember it all goes in the washing machine. Our kitchen rugs have more ideas for the room.
In battle
Snorlax isn't only a sleeper. With its enormous health and bulk, it has been a powerful battler since the first games, famous for moves like Body Slam and Hyper Beam, and for the strategy of using Rest to fall asleep and recover, then Snore to attack while still dozing. A battle design, Snorlax flexing mid-Body Slam, is a fun rug for a competitive player who appreciates a tank.
Snorlax in the anime
Ash's Snorlax, caught in the original series, became a beloved member of his team, sleeping through half its appearances and winning matches when it finally woke up. For young fans who know Snorlax from the show, a design of it napping beside Pikachu is a sweet, familiar rug for a bedroom.
A Snorlax bedroom
Snorlax's palette is soft and earthy: dark teal-blue, cream and a touch of white for its claws and fangs. It suits a calm bedroom far better than most character colors. Pair a Snorlax rug with cream or sage bedding, light wood furniture and warm, low lamps. A few plush pillows and a soft throw finish it. For a child's room, add bright Poké Ball accents; for an adult's, keep it to blue-green and cream. Our bedroom rugs page has more layouts.
Snorlax and friends
Snorlax often shares a room with other favorites. You'll find our Pikachu rugs for the series' mascot, Gengar rugs for the mischievous ghost, Eevee rugs for the fluffy fox with eight evolutions and a Poké Ball rug that pairs with any of them. The full range lives in our Pokémon rugs.
Standard or Premium
For a nap corner or a bedside, choose Premium, the softest and warmest option. For a child's room with a hard floor, a playroom where kids run, or a desk with a chair, choose Standard, 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back, about 500 g/m², which stays put and lets wheels roll freely.
Sizes
The belly design is best on a large round rug, 3.9 to 5.9 ft (120 to 180 cm), so the belly can really spread out. A shaped Snorlax works at 3.3 ft (100 cm) and up as a bedside rug or 5.2×5.9 ft (160×180 cm) as a centerpiece. The doorway design suits a 2×3 or 2.6×3.9 ft rug; Munchlax suits an 2.6 or 3.3 ft (80 or 100 cm) round rug. A zzz pattern works at any size, from a bedside rug to a 5×7 ft rectangle under a bed.
Your own Snorlax
If you have a favorite Snorlax illustration you own, a card, a piece of fan art you commissioned or a photo of your plush collection, our custom rugs can print it in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′, or cut it to shape. Please only send images you're allowed to use; custom rugs are made just for you and can't be returned.
Gifts
A Snorlax rug is a perfect gift for a friend who loves naps, a student whose dorm needs a cozy corner, a child who sleeps with a Snorlax plush or a Pokémon Sleep fan. If you aren't sure which design to choose, the round belly is the safest. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that. Unused rugs can be returned within 30 days on US orders.
Care
Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes, and blot spills with cold water right away. The design is printed into the fibers, so the belly stays cream and the blue stays deep, snack crumbs and all.
A note on the character
Blocking the road
In Pokémon Red and Blue, two sleeping Snorlax block Route 12 and Route 16, and nothing moves them until you play the Poké Flute to wake them up. Generations of players remember that moment. A rug of a Snorlax snoring across a path, with a little flute lying beside it, is a fun design for a hallway or a doorway, especially one that a family member always seems to be blocking.
For a family where one person always naps on the couch, a Snorlax rug in front of it is an affectionate joke, and it makes a comfortable spot to lie down after a long day too.
