About Spy x Family Rugs

A spy, an assassin and a mind reader walk into a family

A master spy needs a wife and a child for his next mission, so he adopts a little girl and marries a quiet office worker. What he doesn't know is that his wife is a professional assassin and his daughter can read minds, and neither of them knows about him. Spy x Family is one of the funniest, warmest anime of recent years, a found-family comedy with action and heart. A Spy x Family-inspired rug brings its charm into a room: scattered peanuts, a big fluffy white dog, a spy's fedora and gadgets, shining gold stars or a rose with a hidden dagger. Every design is printed into soft velvet and goes in the washing machine.

Peanuts and the fluffy white dog are the friendliest designs for a child's room, while the rose and dagger suits a teen.

The series

Spy x Family is written and drawn by Tatsuya Endo and began on Shueisha's online platform Shōnen Jump+ in 2019, quickly becoming one of its biggest hits. Set in a fictional country inspired by Cold War Europe, it follows the spy known as Twilight, who builds a fake family, Loid, Yor and Anya Forger, to get close to a dangerous politician through the elite school his son attends. The anime adaptation, which began in 2022, and a feature film in 2023 made the Forgers beloved worldwide.

Peanuts

The little mind reader's favorite food is peanuts, and she'll do almost anything for them. A rug of scattered peanuts on soft pink or mint is a funny, cute design for a kid's room or a kitchen, and an instantly recognizable nod for fans. In a kitchen, choose Standard, 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back, about 500 g/m², for its grip.

The fluffy white dog

The family's huge, fluffy white dog has a secret of his own: he can see the future. A rug cut to the outline of a giant fluffy white dog, a gentle breed like a Great Pyrenees, is a sweet, cozy piece beside a bed or in a family room. Our shaped rugs come in sizes from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm). For more dogs, see our dog rugs.

Spy gadgets

A fedora, a trench coat, binoculars, a briefcase and a hidden camera: the classic spy kit. A rug of retro spy gadgets in navy, gray and cream is a fun, stylish design for a home office or a teen's room, and a great backdrop for kids playing secret agent on a rainy day.

Gold stars

At the elite school, students earn shining stars for good deeds and achievements, and the little girl desperately wants to earn them for her father's mission. A rug of shining gold stars on navy is a cheerful, motivating design for a kid's room or a homework corner, perfect for celebrating little wins at the end of a long school day. For more night-sky designs, see our celestial rugs.

A rose and a dagger

The quiet, kind mother is secretly a skilled assassin known by a rose-themed code name. A red rose with a hidden dagger in its stem is an elegant, slightly dangerous design for a teen's room, a vanity or a gothic bedroom. For more blooms, see our flower rugs.

A mid-century city

The story takes place in a charming, slightly old-fashioned European city of trams, cobblestones, cafés and 1960s cars. A street-scene rug in that style is a lovely design for a living room or a hallway runner, whether or not anyone knows the show. A custom runner up to 10 ft long fits most hallways.

A found family

The Forgers aren't a real family at first, but they slowly become one. Fans often say the show reminds them that families are made by love and choice, not just blood. A family-themed rug, three silhouettes and a big dog walking hand in hand, is a sweet design for an adoptive or blended family's living room.

Spies in real history

The series is a playful riff on the real Cold War, when spies from East and West operated in divided cities like Berlin, using hidden cameras, dead drops and coded messages. A vintage map of a divided city with secret routes marked is a fun, clever design for a history buff or a spy-novel reader.

Secret codes for kids

Kids love playing spy, and a spy-themed rug can turn into a game: hide clues around the room, write messages in a simple code and use the rug as mission headquarters. It's a playful way to practice reading, puzzles and teamwork on a rainy afternoon.

A mind reader's faces

The little girl's wildly expressive faces, smug grins, wide-eyed excitement and mischievous plotting, have become some of the most shared reaction images online. A rug of our own cartoon expressions in that spirit is a funny, cheerful design for a kid's room or a dorm.

Hallways

A long hallway can become a spy's secret corridor. A custom runner with a trail of footprints, magnifying-glass clues and a briefcase at the far end makes every trip down the hall a mission. Choose Standard, which stays put as people walk by.

Kids' rooms

Spy x Family is lighthearted and funny, with some action, and it's popular with older kids, teens and adults. A peanuts, fluffy dog or gold stars rug is a cheerful choice for a young fan's room. On a hard floor, choose Standard so the rug stays put. For a softer bedroom rug, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, about 700 g/m². Our bedroom rugs page has more layouts.

Family rooms

A big fluffy dog or city-street rug in a family room is a warm, cozy choice for movie nights and game nights with the whole family. Our living room rugs page has more layouts.

Home offices

For anyone working on their own secret mission, a spy-gadget rug under the desk is a playful touch. Under a rolling chair, choose Standard, which stays put and lets the wheels roll. Our office and studio rugs page has more setups.

Entryways

Just inside the front door, a small peanuts or fluffy dog rug is a cheerful welcome. Keep it indoors, out of the weather, and choose Standard for its grip on tile and wood.

Pairing with furniture

These rugs suit warm, mid-century rooms: teak or walnut furniture, a sunburst clock, a vintage lamp and cushions in pink, navy and cream. For a kid's room, add a toy chimera plush and a little desk for homework.

Colors

Spy x Family-inspired designs look best in soft pink and mint for the little girl, navy and gray for the spy, black and red for the assassin and fluffy white for the dog.

Gifts

A Spy x Family-inspired rug makes a great gift for an anime fan, a dog lover or a family that found each other. The peanuts are the funniest; the fluffy dog is the sweetest and the coziest to sit on.

Sizes, shipping and returns

Rectangles come in 2×3, 2.6×3.9, 3.3×5, 4×6 and 5×7 ft. Round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across, and shaped rugs from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm). Custom sizes go up to 5′11″ × 10′. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that. Unused rugs can be returned within 30 days on US orders; custom rugs can't be returned.

Care

Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes, and blot spills with cold water right away. The design is printed into the fibers, so the colors stay cheerful, wash after wash. Mission accomplished, every time.

Eden Academy and Operation Strix

Twilight's mission, Operation Strix, depends on a school. To get close to Donovan Desmond, a reclusive politician in the nation of Ostania, Twilight needs his adopted daughter, Anya, to excel at Eden Academy, the country's most elite school, where Desmond's son, Damian, is also a student. The goal: become an Imperial Scholar, an honor earned by collecting eight Stella stars for outstanding achievements.

Eden Academy's rules are strict and funny. Students earn Stella stars for good deeds and academic success, and Tonitrus Bolts, lightning-bolt demerits, for misbehavior; eight bolts mean expulsion. Anya's adventures there, with her friend Becky Blackbell and her rival Damian, provide some of the series' most beloved moments.

The wider cast adds more designs. Franky, Twilight's informant, sells gadgets and gossip. Yuri, Yor's devoted younger brother, works for the State Security Service and suspects Twilight. Bond, the fluffy white dog who can see the future, joins the family after a mission involving dangerous dogs.

Those details make clever, playful rugs. A field of gold Stella stars with a single lightning bolt among them is a funny design for a child who loves the series. An elegant school gate with an owl above it, without the school's official crest, nods to Eden Academy, and a spy's gadget kit, a camera, a cipher wheel and a pair of sunglasses laid out on a table, suits a home office.

The anime by Wit Studio and CloverWorks premiered in 2022, followed by the film Code: White in 2023, and the series has become a favorite for families who watch together. A rug that combines peanuts, stars and a fluffy dog captures its warmth for any room.

For families who watch Spy x Family together, these designs often become favorites because they capture the show's warmth rather than its action. A rug of gold stars and a single lightning bolt in a child's room can even become a gentle reward chart: earn a star for good days, and laugh about the occasional bolt. In a family room, a peanut-themed design is a reminder of Anya's favorite snack and of the found family at the heart of the story.
