About Attack on Titan Rugs

Humanity behind the walls

Attack on Titan, Hajime Isayama's manga, began in 2009 and ended in 2021, and became one of the most important anime of its generation. Humanity lives behind three enormous concentric walls, safe for a hundred years from the giant, man-eating Titans outside, until the day a Colossal Titan kicks a hole in the outer wall and young Eren Yeager watches his mother die. He swears to destroy every Titan. The story that follows, through mysteries, betrayals and a war that turns everything upside down, is one of the most ambitious in manga.

The anime, made by Wit Studio for its first three seasons and MAPPA for the final season, brought the story to audiences around the world, with an opening theme that fans still shout along to. An Attack on Titan rug brings that intensity into the room. Ours are printed into short velvet, so the Survey Corps' greens, the steel of ODM gear and the grim detail of the Titans come out sharp, and they go in the washing machine.

The Wings of Freedom

The Survey Corps, the soldiers who venture beyond the walls, wear an emblem of two overlapping wings, one blue, one white, on their green cloaks and brown jackets. The Wings of Freedom are the series' most recognizable symbol, standing for courage and the dream of a world beyond the walls. On a round rug or a shield-shaped rug, the emblem is bold, simple and works almost anywhere: a bedroom, a game room, a doorway.

The other regiments

Every cadet chooses a regiment, and each has its own crest:

  • The Survey Corps, the Wings of Freedom, for those who fight beyond the walls.
  • The Garrison, twin roses, for those who guard and repair the walls.
  • The Military Police, a unicorn, for the privileged few who serve the king in the interior.
  • The Training Corps, two crossed swords, for every cadet before they choose.

Fans often pick the regiment they would have joined. A Garrison or Military Police design is a fun, less common choice, and a good joke for a friend who would definitely have chosen the safe option.

The three walls

Here's a design that only works this well on a round rug: the three walls of Paradis, Wall Maria, Wall Rose and Wall Sina, drawn as concentric rings with the districts on their edges, Shiganshina in the south, the capital at the center. Seen from above, it looks like an elegant, abstract map; to fans, it's the whole first half of the story. A 4.6 to 5.2 ft (140 to 160 cm) round rug suits it perfectly.

Eren, Mikasa and Armin

The three childhood friends from Shiganshina carry the story. Eren, consumed by his anger and his dream of freedom; Mikasa, fiercely protective in her red scarf; Armin, the gentle thinker who dreams of seeing the ocean. Their journey from frightened children to the people who decide the world's fate is the heart of the series. A design of the three together, or Mikasa's red scarf on its own, is one of the most meaningful Attack on Titan rugs.

The 104th Cadet Corps

Eren's class of cadets became some of the series' most loved characters: Jean, the reluctant leader; Connie and Sasha, the comic duo, Sasha forever remembered for eating a stolen potato in front of her instructor; Historia, hiding her true name; Ymir, Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt, each with secrets that change the story. A 104th line-up design, the cadets in their training uniforms, is a nostalgic choice for fans who remember the early seasons best.

Levi

Captain Levi, humanity's strongest soldier, is one of the most popular characters in anime: short, stern, obsessed with cleanliness, holding his teacup by the rim and slicing through Titans in a blur of blades. Levi designs are always in demand, and his Squad, Hange's eccentric genius and Commander Erwin's speeches round out a cast fans adore. A Levi rug is a natural pick for a fan's bedroom or a gaming setup. And since he would insist on it, the rug goes in the washing machine.

The Titans

The series' Nine Titans each have a distinct, unsettling design: the skinless, towering Colossal Titan peering over the wall; the Armored Titan with its plated hide; the Female Titan; the furry Beast Titan; the Attack Titan itself, Eren's long-haired, snarling form; the Jaw, the Cart and the War Hammer. A Titan design is the boldest Attack on Titan rug: dramatic, a little frightening, and perfect for a dark game room. The Colossal Titan looming over Wall Maria, the moment that started it all, is the most iconic image of all.

A note for younger rooms

Attack on Titan is a story for teenagers and adults, and its Titans, with their fixed grins and huge eyes, can be genuinely frightening. For a younger child's room, a regiment crest, the Wings of Freedom or the walls map is a much better choice than a Titan close-up. Save the Colossal Titan for the game room, where it can loom over older fans who know exactly what it means.

Hange's research

Hange Zoë, the Survey Corps' brilliant, excitable scientist, would happily spend every day studying Titans, naming the ones they capture and taking notes while everyone else runs. A research-notes design, sketches, measurements and diagrams of Titans in Hange's style, is a quirky, clever rug for a study or a desk corner.

ODM gear

Omni-directional mobility gear, the harness of gas canisters, grappling hooks and blades that lets soldiers swing between buildings and trees, is one of the cleverest inventions in anime. A blueprint-style design, the ODM gear drawn in white technical lines on a dark blue ground, is a striking, unusual rug for a study, a workshop or a fan who loves the series' mechanics.

Beyond the walls

The final season turns the story outward, to Marley across the ocean, to soldiers on the other side and to questions about freedom and revenge that no easy answer can settle. Its look is different too: grey cities, trenches and the colors of a modern war. And then there's the ocean itself, the sea Armin dreamed of, finally reached. A design of the friends standing at the water's edge is one of the most emotional, and calmest, Attack on Titan rugs.

Dedicate your hearts

The Survey Corps salute, a fist over the heart with the other hand behind the back, is one of anime's most famous gestures, and the anime's soaring music by Hiroyuki Sawano made every charge feel epic. A salute design, a silhouette of the Corps with fists raised to their hearts, is a powerful choice for a fan who still gets chills at the opening.

Colors and rooms

Attack on Titan has a grounded palette: Survey Corps green and brown leather, stone grey walls, steel blades, the blue and white of the Wings, and the red of Mikasa's scarf and the Titans' steam. That makes it easier to place than brighter anime. Pair a Survey Corps rug with wood, leather and dark green, and keep one red accent for the scarf. A Titan design suits darker rooms with warm, low light.

A dark anime shelf

Attack on Titan fans often love other intense series. If your shelf also holds Berserk, Tokyo Ghoul, Vinland Saga or Jujutsu Kaisen, an Attack on Titan rug fits right in. Browse every series in our anime rugs.

Gifts

An Attack on Titan rug is a great gift for a fan who has seen the ending and is still thinking about it. If you aren't sure which design to choose, the Wings of Freedom is the safest; every fan knows it, and it suits almost every room. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.

Care

Vacuum on a low setting each week, blot spills with cold water straight away and wash the rug on a gentle, cold cycle when it needs it; let it air dry flat. The design is printed into the fibers, so the Wings stay blue and white wash after wash. Captain Levi would approve.

A note on the series

The Nine Titans

Behind the giants roaming outside the walls are nine special Titans with their own names and powers: the Founding, Attack, Colossal, Armored, Female, Beast, Jaw, Cart and War Hammer Titans. Each inheritor carries the power for thirteen years, and the story slowly reveals who holds which. A rug that sets nine simple emblems in a grid, one for each Titan, is a clever, graphic piece for a fan who has followed the story to the end, and it doesn't show a single frightening face.

Fans often debate which Titan they would want to inherit. A rug that highlights one emblem in the grid, the Attack Titan or the Colossal, in a brighter accent color, lets a fan show their choice while keeping all nine in view.

Yes. It covers the whole story, from the fall of Wall Maria to Marley and the ocean, across the Wit Studio and MAPPA seasons.

Wood, leather and dark green, with a single red accent for Mikasa's scarf. Titan designs suit darker rooms with warm light.
