About Re Zero Rugs

Starting life in another world

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World began as a web novel by Tappei Nagatsuki in 2012 and grew into a long-running light novel series and an anime by White Fox, first broadcast in 2016. Its hero, Subaru Natsuki, is an ordinary young man in a tracksuit who is suddenly pulled into a fantasy kingdom. It sounds like a hundred other isekai stories, except for one thing: whenever Subaru dies, he returns to an earlier moment, remembering everything, and no one else does.

That power, Return by Death, turns a fantasy adventure into something much darker and more emotional: a story about trauma, persistence and the people Subaru keeps trying to save. A Re:Zero rug brings its characters, and its pastel-and-shadow look, into the room. Ours are printed into short velvet, so soft blues, pinks and silvers keep their delicate gradients, and they go in the washing machine.

Rem and Ram

The twin oni maids of the Roswaal mansion are among the most popular anime characters of their decade. Rem, with short blue hair and a fierce, devoted heart, topped character polls for years; Ram, her pink-haired elder sister, is sharp-tongued, proud and secretly protective. Their matching black-and-white maid uniforms, ribbons and the split of blue and pink make them perfect for a rug. A twins design, Rem on one side and Ram on the other, mirrored, is the most loved Re:Zero rug, and a natural choice for siblings or best friends. The small horns that mark them as oni, and the morning-star flail Rem swings in battle, are details fans will look for, and they turn a sweet design into an unmistakably Re:Zero one.

Emilia and Puck

Emilia, the silver-haired half-elf candidate for the throne, is the heroine Subaru meets on his first day, and the person he keeps returning for. Her look, white and lavender, with flowers in her hair, is soft and elegant. Puck, her small grey cat spirit who naps in her hair and is secretly immensely powerful, is one of the cutest designs in the series. A Puck rug, a round grey cat with a pink nose, is a sweet choice for a bedroom, and cat lovers will like our cat rugs too.

Beatrice and the forbidden library

Beatrice, the spirit who guards a hidden library inside the mansion, with her twin drill curls, frilly dress and endless grumbling, is a fan favorite, and her library, endless shelves behind a door that moves from room to room, is one of the series' most atmospheric places. A library design, towering bookshelves and warm lamplight, makes a perfect rug for a reading nook or a study, a nod that only Re:Zero fans will catch.

The Roswaal mansion

Much of the first season takes place in the Roswaal mansion: grand corridors, chandeliers, a kitchen where Subaru learns to work as a servant, and gardens where the twins care for the grounds. Its European, Victorian-inspired look, cream walls, gold trim and deep blue carpets, translates beautifully to a classic, ornamental rug. It suits a bedroom or a living room where a character design would feel too much.

Return by Death

Re:Zero's central idea gives it a unique visual language: stopped clocks, rewinding moments, shadowy hands reaching from the dark. Fans recognize those images instantly. A clock-and-shadow design, a cracked clock face, black hands, a hint of the Witch's silhouette, is the moodiest Re:Zero rug, best in a dark bedroom or gaming setup for fans who love the series' heavier arcs.

The Witches

Behind Subaru's power lies the story of the Witches: Satella, the Witch of Envy, whose shadow destroyed half the world, and the Witches of the other sins, Echidna of Greed with her white hair and black dress, Minerva, Typhon, Daphne, Carmilla and Sekhmet, gathered at their eerie tea party. Echidna in particular has a devoted following. A Witches' tea party design, a long table under a pale sky, is an unusual, elegant piece for fans who know the later seasons.

Subaru

Subaru, in his black-and-orange tracksuit, is a hero people argue about: brave, stubborn, sometimes infuriating, and capable of growing more than almost anyone in anime. A Subaru design is a choice for fans who see his journey as the heart of the story, and it pairs well with Rem or Emilia for a two-character rug. His ordinary tracksuit, so out of place in a world of knights and spirits, is itself a small, funny symbol of the whole series.

The Sanctuary and friends on the road

The second season moves to the Sanctuary, a hidden village sealed by a barrier, and introduces some of the series' most loved supporting characters: Otto, the unlucky merchant who becomes Subaru's closest friend, and Garfiel, the fierce, tiger-like boy guarding the Sanctuary's secrets. Fans who love the friendships as much as the romance often choose designs of Subaru's camp together, a warm, slightly chaotic group portrait for a shared room.

Priestella, the water city

The third season, which began in 2024, takes the cast to Priestella, a city of canals, bridges and great water gates, where the Sin Archbishops of the Witch Cult launch a terrifying attack. Its look, blue water, white stone and bright festival colors turning to chaos, gives Re:Zero a fresh palette. A canal-city design is a lovely choice for a fan of the newer arcs who wants something calmer than a battle.

Light novel covers

Re:Zero's light novels, with cover art by Shinichirou Otsuka, are collected by fans in long rows on bookshelves, each cover a new character in a new outfit. A design inspired by that cover art, cleaner and more illustrative than the anime, suits a reader's bedroom or a study with a shelf of volumes above it.

Subaru's mayonnaise

A small joke for the kitchen: Subaru, a boy from modern Japan stuck in a fantasy kingdom, misses mayonnaise more than almost anything, and tries to make it from scratch. A playful kitchen rug with a mayo-and-maid twist, Rem or Ram cooking in the mansion kitchen, is the kind of design only a true fan will understand, which is exactly the point. Choose Standard there for its non-slip back.

The royal selection

The Kingdom of Lugunica is choosing a new ruler, and each candidate has a knight and an emblem: Emilia, Crusch, Priscilla, Anastasia and Felt, with knights like Julius and the Sword Saint Reinhard. Fans often have a favorite candidate. A candidate's colors and crest make a stylish, heraldic Re:Zero rug for a fan who enjoys the political side of the story.

Colors and rooms

Re:Zero's palette is unusually soft for a dark story: Rem's sky blue, Ram's blush pink, Emilia's silver and lavender, the cream and gold of the mansion, with black shadows for contrast. That makes its rugs easy to fit into a bedroom. Pair a pastel design with white or light grey bedding and fairy lights; pair a Return by Death design with dark walls and purple lighting.

Maid-café and kawaii rooms

Rem and Ram's maid uniforms are part of a wider anime aesthetic of frills, ribbons and black-and-white lace. In a cute, kawaii-inspired room, a Rem or Ram rug sits naturally alongside pastel shelves, plushies and figures. Browse our cute and kawaii rugs for more of that look.

A round rug in the middle of a bedroom suits a design built around Rem's blue or Emilia's silver and violet.

Isekai shelves

Re:Zero fans often love other isekai and fantasy anime. If your shelf also holds Overlord, Sword Art Online or Frieren, a Re:Zero rug fits right in. Browse every series in our anime rugs.

Gifts

A Re:Zero rug is a great gift for a fan who has strong opinions about Rem versus Emilia, and most do. If you aren't sure where they stand, the twins together, or Puck, keeps everyone perfectly happy. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.

Care

Vacuum on a low setting each week, blot spills with cold water straight away and wash the rug on a gentle, cold cycle when it needs it; let it air dry flat. The design is printed into the fibers, so Rem stays blue and Ram stays pink, however many times you wash it.

A note on the series

A tracksuit and a convenience store bag

Subaru Natsuki arrives in another world exactly as he left a convenience store at night: in a gray-and-black tracksuit, carrying a plastic bag of snacks and a phone that soon runs out of battery. That ordinary outfit becomes his signature, standing out among knights, maids and witches.

A rug of a simple tracksuit pattern with a convenience store bag in the corner is a funny, understated design that only fans will place, and it suits a teen's bedroom or a dorm where the series is binged late at night.

FAQ

Questions about Re Zero Rugs

Which Re:Zero rug design should I start with?

Rem and Ram, the twin maids in blue and pink. A mirrored twins design shows them best, and Rem on her own is a lovely alternative.

Is there a cute Re:Zero design for a bedroom?

Puck, Emilia's small grey cat spirit, on a round rug is the cutest. Emilia's lavender and silver palette also suits a soft bedroom.

Which Re:Zero design suits a reading nook?

Beatrice's forbidden library, with its towering shelves and warm lamplight. It looks like a cozy library scene to visitors.

Is there a darker Re:Zero design?

Return by Death clocks and shadows, or the Witches' tea party. They suit dark rooms and fans of the later seasons.

Which level suits a Re:Zero bedroom?

Premium: 7 mm plush velvet on bamboo and cotton makes a soft sky-blue or silver bedroom rug. If the floor is slippery, choose Standard for its grip.

Which Re:Zero rug goes under a gaming chair?

Standard, 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft. Rem's blue or Emilia's silver looks soft under a desk; the faux leather back is the one that grips, so the rug doesn't shift as you roll.

How do I wash a Re:Zero rug?

Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle and dry it flat. Sky blue, blush pink and lavender are printed into the fibers.

Is this official Re:Zero merchandise?

No. Rem, Ram, Emilia and Return by Death designs are inspired by the series; Padrift has no tie to Tappei Nagatsuki, Kadokawa or White Fox.
