The series

My Hero Academia was written and drawn by Kōhei Horikoshi and ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2014 to 2024. In its world, about eighty percent of people have a superpower called a Quirk, and professional heroes are celebrities. Izuku Midoriya, a kind, nerdy boy without a Quirk, is chosen by the world's greatest hero to inherit a power passed down through generations, and he enrolls at an elite high school for heroes alongside a class full of extraordinary teenagers. The anime adaptation by the studio Bones, which began in 2016, made it one of the most popular anime of its time.

American comics, Japanese manga

Horikoshi has spoken about his love of American superhero comics, and the series mixes the bright costumes, secret identities and big team-ups of Western comics with the training arcs and rivalries of shōnen manga. That blend is why a comic-explosion rug feels just right. For classic American heroes, see our Superman and Marvel rugs.

Fire and ice

One of the most popular students can create ice with one side of his body and fire with the other. A split rug of blazing red flame on one half and frozen blue ice on the other is a bold, graphic design for a teen's room, and on a round rug, the two halves meet in a striking line. Our round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across.

Your own hero ID

Every student chooses a hero name. A hero ID card rug, with your name, your own hero name, a made-up power and a photo or symbol, is one of the most fun custom designs we make, perfect for a kid's room or a dorm. Our custom rugs can print it in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′. Please only send photos you're allowed to use.

Comic explosions

An explosive classmate fights with blasts from his palms, and the series is full of huge, comic-style impacts. A rug with a big orange-and-yellow BOOM in bold comic lettering is an energetic, fun design for a game room or a kid's bedroom. For more comic style, see our pop art rugs.

Red sneakers

The hero's chunky red sneakers are one of his most recognizable details. A rug of a pair of big red high-tops is a cute, simple design for a kid's bedroom or just inside the front door; keep entry rugs indoors, out of the weather. For more, see our sneaker rugs.

Green lightning

When the hero powers up, green lightning crackles around his body. A green lightning rug on black is a dynamic design for a gaming setup or a dorm, especially with green RGB lighting. Under a gaming chair, choose Standard, 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back, about 500 g/m², which stays put and lets the wheels roll. For more, see our gaming rugs.

A city for heroes

A skyline of towers, billboards and rooftops where heroes patrol is a great play rug for action figures and a fun bedroom rug for a young fan. A custom runner up to 10 ft long turns a hallway into a hero's patrol route. Our kids play rugs page has more ideas.

Hero names and costumes

Students design their own hero costumes and choose names that say something about who they are, sometimes reclaiming a nickname that was meant as an insult. A custom costume-sketch rug, a hero outfit you or your child designed, labeled with a hero name and a list of powers, is a creative, personal piece that encourages kids to imagine their best selves.

The sports festival

One of the series' most beloved arcs is a school sports festival, a televised tournament in a giant stadium where students compete in races, cavalry battles and one-on-one matches. A stadium rug with a running track and a central arena is a fun, energetic design for a sporty kid's room. For more sports designs, see our sports rugs.

Rivals and friends

The quiet, determined hero and his explosive childhood rival push each other to grow, and their relationship is one of the series' emotional cores. For siblings who are best friends and fiercest competitors, a split rug in green and orange is a funny, fitting choice.

Pairing with furniture

These rugs suit energetic, colorful rooms: a desk for drawing comics, a shelf of manga and figures, a few framed hero sketches of your own and bedding in green, red or blue. A comic-explosion rug looks great with a bright accent wall.

Hard work beats talent

The series' message, that effort, kindness and courage matter as much as natural gifts, resonates with fans of every age. A hero-themed rug in a child's room can be a little daily reminder to keep trying, especially on hard days.

Kids' bedrooms

My Hero Academia is enjoyed by older kids and teens, though some arcs get intense. A hero ID, red sneakers or hero city rug is a cheerful choice for a young fan's room. On a hard floor, choose Standard so the rug stays put. For a softer bedroom rug, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, about 700 g/m². Our bedroom rugs page has more layouts.

Dorms and teen rooms

A fire-and-ice or green lightning rug brings bold color to a dorm or a teen's room. Choose Standard on hard dorm floors.

Drawing your own heroes

The hero keeps detailed notebooks analyzing every hero and power he sees, and many young fans start drawing and inventing their own characters. A notebook-page rug, sketches, arrows and handwritten notes on lined paper, is a lovely design for a young artist's desk area, a reminder that every great hero starts as an idea on paper.

Hallways and entryways

A long hallway can become a hero's training course. A custom runner up to 10 ft long with a running track, hurdles and a finish line turns every walk to bed into a sprint. Just inside the front door, a small red-sneakers rug is a cheerful welcome. Choose Standard for both, for its grip on hard floors, and keep entry rugs indoors, out of the weather.

Shaped rugs

A rug cut to the shape of a comic-style starburst, or a pair of red sneakers, is a playful alternative to a rectangle beside a bed. Our shaped rugs come in sizes from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm).

Colors

My Hero Academia-inspired designs look best in hero green, bold red, comic orange and yellow, icy blue and black, with bright primary colors for city scenes.

Other anime

For more shōnen favorites, see our Naruto, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen and One-Punch Man rugs, and all our anime and manga rugs.

Gifts

A My Hero Academia-inspired rug makes a great gift for an anime fan. A custom hero ID with their own hero name is the most fun and personal choice.

Sizes, shipping and returns

Rectangles come in 2×3, 2.6×3.9, 3.3×5, 4×6 and 5×7 ft. Round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across, and shaped rugs from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm). Custom sizes go up to 5′11″ × 10′, including long runners. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that. Please only send artwork you're allowed to use for custom designs; official character art and the school crest belong to their owners. Unused rugs can be returned within 30 days on US orders; custom rugs can't be returned.

Care

Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes, and blot spills with cold water right away. The design is printed into the fibers, so the colors stay heroic, wash after wash.

All Might, One For All and the final war

At the heart of the story is a power passed from hand to hand. All Might, the Symbol of Peace, carries One For All, a Quirk handed down through generations of heroes, and he chooses Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without a Quirk, as his successor. His smile and his cry of Plus Ultra, the school's motto, became the series' defining images.

Opposing them is All For One, the villain who steals Quirks, and his successor Tomura Shigaraki, who leads the League of Villains toward a final war against the heroes. Along the way, pro heroes like Endeavor, the flame hero, and Hawks, the winged hero, take on bigger roles, and Class 1-A grows from students into heroes.

Kōhei Horikoshi's manga ended in August 2024, and the anime's final season brought the war to screens. For fans who followed it to the end, rugs can capture its biggest themes. A sunrise over a city skyline with the words Plus Ultra suits a teen's bedroom with a hopeful message. A pair of hands, one passing a glowing light to the other, is a quiet, symbolic design about inheritance. And a burst of fire and wings in red and gold brings Endeavor and Hawks into a game room.

These designs work well with bright primary colors, comic-style posters and a shelf of figures, a room where every day starts with a reason to go beyond.

For fans who cosplay as their favorite student, a hero-themed rug also makes a bold photo backdrop: a city skyline for All Might, flames for Endeavor or a sunrise for Deku. It works just as well as a bedroom centerpiece afterward.
