About Sakamoto Days Rugs
The world's greatest hitman now runs a corner store
He was the most feared assassin in the business, until he walked into a convenience store and fell in love with the clerk. He quit on the spot, got married, had a daughter, gained a lot of weight and opened a little neighborhood shop. Now his old enemies are coming for him, and he has promised his wife he'll never kill again, so he fights them off with whatever is on the shelves. Sakamoto Days is a stylish, hilarious action anime about family, loyalty and very creative uses for everyday objects. A Sakamoto Days-inspired rug brings its look into a room: a convenience store aisle, onigiri rice balls, round glasses, a shop sign with your name or a pattern of everyday tools. Every design is printed into soft velvet and goes in the washing machine.

The series
Sakamoto Days is a manga by Yuto Suzuki, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2020. TMS Entertainment adapted it into an anime that premiered in early 2025 on Netflix, streaming around the world, with a second part later that year. Taro Sakamoto was once the legendary hitman everyone feared, until he retired for love. When a huge bounty is placed on his head, a stream of killers comes after him, his family and his little store. With a young, mind-reading former hitman as his assistant and a growing group of oddball allies, Sakamoto protects his quiet life, always keeping his promise to his wife, even in the middle of the wildest fights.
The convenience store
The hero's little shop is the center of the story, and its aisles become battlefields again and again. A rug of a cheerful convenience store aisle, shelves packed with colorful snacks, drinks, instant noodles and candy, is a fun, bright design for a kitchen, a game room or a snack corner. In a kitchen, choose Standard, 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back, about 500 g/m², which stays put on tile. For more, see our kitchen rugs.
Konbini culture
In Japan, the convenience store, or konbini, is a beloved part of daily life. There are tens of thousands of them across the country, many open around the clock, selling fresh rice balls, bento boxes, hot snacks, coffee and drinks, and offering services from paying bills to printing documents and picking up packages. Visitors often say a konbini run is one of the highlights of a trip to Japan, which is part of the charm of a hero who runs one.
Onigiri
Rice balls wrapped in crisp seaweed are a convenience store staple. A rug of neat rows of onigiri, triangles of white rice with dark seaweed bands, scattered with little fillings, is a cute, cheerful pattern for a kitchen or a dining nook, and a nice nod to Japanese food for anyone. For more, see our cute rugs.
Round glasses
Even out of shape, the retired hitman is instantly recognizable by his simple round glasses, and the moment they glint, his enemies know they're in trouble. A rug of a pair of round frames on a plain background is a quiet, minimalist design for a bedroom or a reading corner, recognizable only to fans. As a round rug, the glasses fill the circle. Our round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across.
A shop sign with your name
A rug designed like a retro corner-shop sign, with your own family name, an opening year and a simple welcome, is a fun, personal design for an entryway or a kitchen. Our custom rugs can print it in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′. Just inside the front door, keep it indoors, out of the weather.
Everyday objects
The hero's genius is improvisation: in his hands, a pen, a pair of chopsticks, a ladle or a pack of gum becomes a tool for getting out of trouble. A rug with a pattern of everyday items, pens, chopsticks, spoons, ladles, brooms and paper cups, drawn in simple lines, is a clever, playful design for a kitchen or a home office. Our office and studio rugs page has more setups.
Family first
For all the fighting, the story's heart is the hero's family: his calm, fearless wife and his sweet little daughter, whom he protects above everything. A rug of three simple silhouettes holding hands, with your own family's names, is a warm, meaningful design for a family room or a gift for new parents.
From suits to aprons
In his hitman days he wore a sharp black suit; now he works behind the counter in a simple shop apron. A rug in a soft, chunky cable-knit pattern, in warm beige and cream, is a cozy, everyday design for a man who would rather be comfortable, and it suits any living room.
Action with style
The series is famous for creative, clearly choreographed fight scenes where the setting, from the store's own aisles to wherever a fight lands, matters as much as the fighters. Its bold, clean art and comedic timing make every chapter feel like a movie.
Retirement and second chances
Under the action, Sakamoto Days is about choosing a new life and protecting it. Many fans love that its hero is a happy, devoted dad rather than a lone wolf. A family rug is a small reminder of what matters most.
Kids and teens
The series has lots of comic violence, and it suits teens and adults. The onigiri pattern, the store aisle and the round glasses are lighthearted designs that anyone can enjoy.
Kitchens
An onigiri or store aisle rug in front of the stove or the sink is a cheerful touch for a family kitchen, and it goes straight in the washing machine after real spills. Choose Standard for its grip on tile.
Game rooms and dorms
A store aisle or everyday objects rug brings humor to a game room or a dorm. Under a gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft, which stays put and lets the wheels roll. For a softer bedroom rug, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, about 700 g/m². Our bedroom rugs page has more layouts.
Small shops and cafés
For a real corner shop, a café or a small business, a rug with your own shop sign behind the counter is a fun touch for staff. Choose Standard so it stays put, and remember our rugs are for indoor use.
Pairing with furniture
These rugs suit warm, homey rooms: wooden shelves, a few potted plants, a small display of snacks or ceramics and warm, simple lighting. A pair of round glasses on a stack of manga is a perfect finishing touch.
Colors
Sakamoto Days-inspired designs look best in warm beige, cream and soft yellow, with bright snack-aisle colors and sharp black for glasses and silhouettes.

Gifts
A Sakamoto Days-inspired rug makes a great gift for an anime fan, a new dad or anyone who loves Japanese convenience stores. The shop sign with their family name is the most personal; the onigiri pattern is the cutest.
Your own design
Want a store aisle stocked with your favorite snacks, a family silhouette with your names or round glasses in your favorite color? Our custom rugs can print it, or cut it to shape with our shaped rugs. Please only send artwork you're allowed to use; official character art and stills belong to their owners. Custom rugs are made just for you and can't be returned.
Sizes, shipping and returns
Rectangles come in 2×3, 2.6×3.9, 3.3×5, 4×6 and 5×7 ft. Round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across, and shaped rugs from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm). Custom sizes go up to 5′11″ × 10′, including long runners. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that. Unused rugs can be returned within 30 days on US orders; custom rugs can't be returned.
Care
Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes, and blot spills with cold water right away. The design is printed into the fibers, so the snack aisle stays fully stocked, wash after wash.
The Order, the JCC and the shop's regulars
Sakamoto's peaceful shop life keeps colliding with his old world. The Order, a small group of Japan's most elite assassins, enforces the rules of the killing world and sees retired legends like Sakamoto as a problem. The JCC, a school that trains young assassins, becomes the setting for one of the series' biggest arcs, and Slur, a mysterious figure with plans of his own, threatens everything Sakamoto has built.
Back at the store, the cast grows into a family. Shin, a young telepath, reads minds and works the register. Lu Shaotang, the cheerful heir of a Chinese mafia family, joins as a part-timer. Heisuke, a sniper with terrible luck, arrives with his parrot, Pisuke, and becomes one of the most lovable members of the crew.
Those details make fun, everyday rugs. A parrot perched on a sniper scope is a funny tribute to Heisuke and Pisuke for a gaming setup. A store counter with a register, a bell and a stack of onigiri is a warm design for a kitchen. A school crest in black and gold, without official marks, nods to the JCC arc for a teen's room.
The anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment premiered in 2025, bringing the series' slick action and family warmth to a wider audience. Pair these designs with bright convenience-store colors, white, green and orange, and the room feels like a corner store that happens to be guarded by the world's best retired hitman.
For fans who run their own small shop or café, a store-counter design with a custom name on the sign is a fun nod to Sakamoto's second career. It makes a great welcome rug behind the counter or at the door, and it reminds every customer that the person serving them might be a retired legend. In a home kitchen, the same design brings the series' warmth into everyday life.
