The series
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a ten-episode anime made by Studio Trigger, directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and released on Netflix in 2022. It's set in Night City, the world of the video game Cyberpunk 2077 by the Polish studio CD Projekt Red, which itself grew from Mike Pondsmith's tabletop role-playing game, first published in the late 1980s. David Martinez, a struggling student, turns to life as an edgerunner, a mercenary for hire, after a tragedy, and finds friendship and love with a crew of misfits. Its release brought a huge wave of new players to the game.
The Moon
The young netrunner's dream is simple and impossible: to leave the city behind and see the Moon up close. A rug of a huge, glowing full Moon rising over a skyline of neon towers is the series' most beautiful and bittersweet image, a perfect design for a bedroom or a home theater. On a round rug, the Moon fills the circle. Our round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across. For more night-sky designs, see our celestial rugs.
Speed glitches
When the hero activates his speed implant, time slows and he leaves a trail of glowing, rainbow-colored afterimages behind him. A rug of rainbow afterimages trailing across black is a dynamic, eye-catching design for a gaming setup, and on a custom runner up to 10 ft long, it races the length of a hallway. Choose Standard, 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back, about 500 g/m², which stays put as people walk by.
Neon yellow and cyan
The game and the anime share a signature palette of electric neon yellow and cyan against black. A rug of bold neon yellow and cyan blocks with glitchy edges is a striking design for a gaming desk or a dorm. Under a gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft, which stays put and lets the wheels roll. For more, see our gaming rugs.
Cyberware schematics
In Night City, people replace their bodies with chrome: arms, eyes, spines and nervous-system upgrades. A rug of technical schematics, drawings of implants with measurements and notes in white on dark blue, is a clever design for a tech office or a studio. Our office and studio rugs page has more setups.
The yellow jacket
The hero wears a bright yellow jacket that has deep meaning in his story. A rug of a bright yellow street jacket on black is a simple, meaningful design for a teen's room or a sneaker room. For more street style, see our sneaker rugs.
Rain and neon
Night City glows with neon signs reflected in rain-soaked streets. A rainy skyline rug in pink, cyan and yellow is a moody, cinematic design for a living room or a hallway, beautiful even to someone who has never played the game. For the game's world, see our Cyberpunk rugs.
The crew
The hero falls in with a crew of edgerunners: a hulking, heavily augmented leader, a tiny, wild gunner with a giant shotgun, a quiet netrunner and a handful of other misfits who become a kind of family. A rug of your own crew's patch, a bold emblem with your team name in neon yellow on black, is a fun custom design for a gaming group's room or a shared dorm, as long as the artwork is your own.
Netrunning
Netrunners dive into cyberspace, where the city's networks look like a glowing landscape of light and data. A rug of a glowing cyan grid fading into a dark horizon, with streams of data falling through it, is a calm, hypnotic design for a home office or a gaming desk, and it suits any tech lover's room. In a home office, choose Standard so a desk chair rolls easily.
The music
The series' ending song, Let You Down by the Polish singer Dawid Podsiadło, became a favorite with fans around the world, and the soundtrack's mix of rock, electronic and synth sounds sets the mood of the city. A synthwave sunset rug, with a striped neon sun over a glowing grid, pairs perfectly with a music corner or a turntable setup. For more, see our music rugs and retro rugs.
A bittersweet story
Without giving away the ending, Edgerunners is a story about chasing a dream in a city that grinds people down, and many fans say it left them in tears. A Moon rug is a quiet way to remember it: bright, hopeful and a little sad, all at once.
The game and the anime
The anime and the game feed each other: fans of the series went on to explore Night City in the game, and players can find nods to the anime hidden in it, from clothing to weapons. A neon rug is a perfect piece for a gaming setup where both live side by side.
Studio Trigger
Studio Trigger was founded in 2011 by the team behind Gurren Lagann and is known for its explosive, colorful style, from Kill la Kill to Promare. For those, see our Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill rugs.
For adults
Edgerunners is a mature series with graphic violence and adult content, so these designs suit adults and older teens. The Moon, the rainy skyline and the neon color blocks are the most widely appealing.
Gaming setups
A speed-glitch or neon-block rug is a natural centerpiece for a cyberpunk gaming setup, with yellow and cyan LED strips, a mechanical keyboard and a big monitor. A 4×6 ft rug suits most setups.
Bedrooms and dorms
A Moon-over-the-city rug brings a dreamy, bittersweet mood to a bedroom or a dorm. Choose Standard on hard floors. For a softer bedroom rug, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, about 700 g/m². Our bedroom rugs page has more layouts.
Home theaters
For a home theater, a rainy-skyline or Moon rug in front of the screen sets the scene for a binge-watch. Our home theater rugs page has more ideas.
Entryways
Just inside the front door, a small neon-block rug is a bold, futuristic welcome. Keep it indoors, out of the weather, and choose Standard for its grip on tile and wood.
Pairing with furniture
These rugs suit sleek, dark rooms: black furniture, chrome and glass, neon signs, LED strips in yellow and cyan and a few plants to soften the edges.
Colors
Cyberpunk Edgerunners-inspired designs look best in neon yellow, cyan and hot pink on deep black, with silver chrome and a pale, glowing Moon.

Gifts
A Cyberpunk Edgerunners-inspired rug makes a great gift for a gamer or an anime fan. The Moon is the most meaningful; the speed glitch is the most dynamic.
Your own design
Want the Moon over your own city, neon blocks in your favorite colors or a schematic of your own invention? Our custom rugs can print it in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′, or cut it to shape with our shaped rugs. Please only send artwork you're allowed to use; game logos, character art and stills belong to their owners. Custom rugs are made just for you and can't be returned.
Sizes, shipping and returns
Rectangles come in 2×3, 2.6×3.9, 3.3×5, 4×6 and 5×7 ft. Round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across, and shaped rugs from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm). Custom sizes go up to 5′11″ × 10′, including long runners. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that. Unused rugs can be returned within 30 days on US orders; custom rugs can't be returned.
Care
Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes, and blot spills with cold water right away. The design is printed into the fibers, so the neon stays electric, wash after wash.
Places and gear from the show
The series packs a lot of Night City into ten episodes. David Martinez starts out at Arasaka Academy, a corporate school he can't afford, and ends up living in a cramped megabuilding apartment. The crew gathers at the Afterlife, the legendary mercenary bar fans of the game already know, and the gleaming Arasaka Tower looms over everything as the city's ultimate symbol of corporate power.
The crew's gear is just as recognizable. David's Sandevistan, the implant that slows time around him, gives the show its signature speed-glitch effect. Lucy fights with a monowire, a glowing thread that whips from her wrist, and Rebecca, the smallest member of the crew, carries an enormous shotgun with a famously unsubtle name. Maine and Dorio are walking tanks of chrome, while Kiwi and Falco keep things moving in the background.
A rug can use those details instead of faces. A monowire arc in pink and cyan across a dark ground is pure Lucy; a pair of Sandevistan spinal implants drawn as a glowing schematic is David; a neon bar sign in the Afterlife style turns a game room into a merc hangout. For a fan who loved the ending, a simple moon over the megabuilding skyline, in yellow and violet, says everything without a word.
Studio Trigger's animation premiered on Netflix in September 2022. Pair any of these designs with an RGB strip set to yellow and cyan, and the room glows like the show.
Fans who also play the game can pair these designs with Cyberpunk 2077's Night City maps elsewhere in the room, so the anime and the game meet on the same floor.
