About Blue Lock Rugs

Three hundred strikers, one spot at the top

After Japan's national team crashes out of the World Cup, its football union tries something radical: it locks 300 of the country's best high school strikers inside a high-tech facility and makes them compete until only one remains, the most selfish, hungry goal scorer in the world. Anyone who loses is barred from ever playing for the national team. Blue Lock is a wild, intense soccer anime that treats every match like a battle of wills. A Blue Lock-inspired rug brings that energy into a room: an electric-blue soccer field, a ranking board, a pitch made of puzzle pieces, a goal net or a ball smashing through glass. Every design is printed into soft velvet and goes in the washing machine.

The series

Blue Lock is a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since 2018. The studio Eight Bit adapted it into an anime that first aired in 2022, followed by a second season and a spin-off film. Yoichi Isagi, a striker from a high school team that just missed its chance at nationals, is invited into the program run by a gaunt, brutally blunt coach who believes Japan has never produced a true egotist, a striker who wants the goal more than anything. Isagi must learn to see the whole field, read every player and find his own weapon to survive round after round.

The electric-blue field

The facility's training fields glow in cold blue light. A top-down rug of a soccer pitch, with crisp white lines, center circle and penalty boxes on deep electric blue instead of grass green, is a fresh, modern take on a classic sports design for a teen's room or a game room. In a room that sees a lot of action, choose Standard, 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back, about 500 g/m², which stays put when someone practices footwork on it. For more fields and courts, see our sports rugs.

Ranking boards

Every player in the program wears a number that shows his current rank, and the rankings change after every match. A rug of a glowing leaderboard, rows of ranks and names in white and blue, with your own name at number one, is a funny, motivating design for a young player's bedroom. Our custom rugs can print it in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.

Seeing the field like a puzzle

The hero's gift is spatial awareness: he sees the field as a puzzle, fitting players, space and timing together until the winning move clicks into place. A rug of a soccer field assembled from interlocking jigsaw pieces, one bright piece still missing, is a clever, thoughtful design for a study corner or a gaming setup.

The goal net

For a striker, everything comes down to the back of the net. A rug of white goal netting stretched across black, with a single ball caught in the mesh, is a bold, graphic design for a sports room, a man cave or a coach's office. Our man cave rugs page has more ideas.

Breaking through

The series loves dramatic images of players shattering their limits. A rug of a soccer ball blasting through cracked blue glass, with shards flying outward, is an explosive, high-energy design for a gaming corner or a teen's room. Under a gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft, which stays put and lets the wheels roll. For more, see our gaming rugs.

Jersey numbers

A rug with a bold jersey number and name on blue, your kid's own number from their team, is a proud, personal design for a young player's room, and a great end-of-season gift from a coach or a parent. Please only send team artwork you're allowed to use; club crests and league logos belong to their owners.

Round soccer balls

A round rug printed as a classic black-and-white soccer ball, or as a ball in blue and white with motion lines, is a simple, playful shape for a kid's room or a corner of the living room. Our round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across.

Soccer in Japan

Japan's men's national team has reached every World Cup since 1998 and has pulled off famous upsets, while its women's team won the World Cup in 2011. Soccer has grown hugely popular there since the professional J.League launched in the early 1990s, helped along by anime and manga that inspired kids to play. Blue Lock is the latest in that tradition, following classics like Captain Tsubasa, a soccer manga that many professional players have said made them fall in love with the game.

Egos and rivals

The series is built on fierce rivalries: a playful dribbler who follows his inner monster, a lazy genius who only plays when it's fun, a self-proclaimed king of the field and a cold, flawless prodigy. For siblings or teammates sharing a room, a pair of rugs in rival colors, blue and red, is a fun way to keep the competition going at home.

Young players

For kids who play on a team, a soccer rug is a cheerful reminder of practice, games and goals. Blue Lock itself has intense matches and a lot of shouting about ego, and it suits older kids and teens; the field, ball and jersey designs work for any young player. For more playful designs, see our kids' play rugs.

Teen rooms and dorms

A ranking board or electric-blue field brings bold energy to a teen's room or a dorm. Choose Standard on hard floors. For a softer bedroom rug, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, about 700 g/m². Our bedroom rugs page has more layouts.

Hallways

Down a hallway, a custom runner up to 10 ft long printed as a long, narrow soccer pitch, goal to goal, is a fun way to bring the field home. Choose Standard, which stays put as people walk by and dribble past.

Watch parties

For game days, whether it's the World Cup, a club match or a new episode, a soccer field rug in front of the TV turns the living room into the stands. It goes in the washing machine after the snacks have been spilled.

Team rooms and clubs

For a club's clubhouse, a coach's office or a school's locker area, a large field rug in the team's colors, with your own club name, makes the room feel like home. Choose Standard for its grip, and please only use crests you have permission to print.

Pairing with furniture

These rugs suit sporty, modern rooms: white and black furniture, a shelf of trophies and signed balls, blue LED strips and framed photos of your own team.

Colors

Blue Lock-inspired designs look best in electric blue, deep navy and crisp white, with black for goal nets and a flash of red for rivals.

Gifts

A Blue Lock-inspired rug makes a great gift for a soccer player, a coach or an anime fan. The ranking board with their name at number one is the most personal; the electric-blue field is the most versatile.

Your own design

Want your own name on a leaderboard, your team's colors on a field or a rug cut to the shape of a soccer ball or a goal? Our custom rugs can print it, or cut it to shape with our shaped rugs. Custom rugs are made just for you and can't be returned.

Sizes, shipping and returns

Rectangles come in 2×3, 2.6×3.9, 3.3×5, 4×6 and 5×7 ft. Round rugs come from 2.6 to 5.9 ft (80 to 180 cm) across, and shaped rugs from 2.6×2.6 up to 5.2×5.9 ft (80×80 to 160×180 cm). Custom sizes go up to 5′11″ × 10′, including long runners. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that. Unused rugs can be returned within 30 days on US orders; custom rugs can't be returned.

Care

Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes, and blot spills with cold water right away. The design is printed into the fibers, so the blue stays electric, wash after wash.

A tactics board on the floor

Coaches plan games on a tactics board: a top-down field with markers for each player and arrows for every run. That simple layout makes a striking rug for a Blue Lock fan or any young striker, with the penalty box, the center circle and lines of movement drawn across the grass.

The real markings are part of the design. A soccer field's center circle has a radius of 10 yards, the penalty spot sits 12 yards from goal, and the penalty area stretches 18 yards out from the goal line. Using those proportions, the rug looks like a true pitch from above, even when it's only 4×6 ft.

Add a few formation markers, a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2, and arrows showing a striker's run behind the defense, and the rug becomes a lesson in reading the game, the kind of spatial thinking the series loves. In electric blue and white, it suits a teen's bedroom, a team room or the corner where cleats and a ball are always waiting by the door.

Coaches of youth teams sometimes use a tactics board rug in a team room or a clubhouse corner, where players can sit around it and talk through a game plan before practice. Magnetic markers or small cones can stand in for players during the discussion, and the rug becomes a real teaching tool. For a Blue Lock fan, it also echoes the series' obsession with seeing the field in new ways and finding the one perfect run that leads to a goal.
