About Rust Rugs
You wake up on a beach with a rock
Rust, from the British studio Facepunch, entered early access in 2013 and launched in full in 2018, and it remains one of the most intense multiplayer survival games ever made. Every player starts the same way: on a beach, with nothing but a rock and a torch. From there, you gather wood and stone, craft tools, build a shelter, and try to survive a world full of wildlife, radiation and, above all, other players who might help you or raid everything you own while you sleep.
Rust is brutal, social and full of stories, the kind you tell friends for years. A Rust rug brings that rugged, industrial world into your setup. Ours are printed into short velvet, so weathered metal, corrugated textures and bold keypad lights come out crisp, and they go in the washing machine. One note: this page is about the game, but if you're looking for rust-colored rugs in general, our abstract and modern rugs have warm, earthy designs too.
The rock
The rock is Rust's starting tool and its most beloved joke. Players chop trees with it, mine stone with it, fight with it and, occasionally, win entire fights with nothing but it. A rock design, a single grey stone held in a hand, or just the rock on a round rug, is a funny, minimal piece that every Rust player will recognize instantly, and that looks like a simple pebble to everyone else.
Code locks and doors
A Rust base is only as strong as its doors, and every player knows the code lock, a small keypad with a light that glows green when it's yours and red when it isn't. Sheet-metal and armored doors, garage doors and airlocks are the backbone of base design. A code-lock design, the keypad glowing green on a metal door, is a clever, graphic rug for the entrance to a gaming room, a quiet warning to visitors that the room is protected.
Base blueprints
Building in Rust is an art: honeycombed walls, airlocks, shooting floors, hidden loot rooms and roofs designed to defeat raiders. Players study and share base designs like architects. A blueprint rug, a base floor plan in white lines on navy, is an elegant design for a setup or a study, and through our custom rugs, it can be your own base design, printed in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
The Tool Cupboard
At the heart of every base is the Tool Cupboard, which gives its owners building rights and keeps the base from decaying, as long as it's stocked with materials. Protecting it is everything. A Tool Cupboard design is a deep-cut inside joke for Rust veterans, and a perfect gift for the clanmate who always forgets to fill it.
Strangers on the beach
Much of Rust's magic comes from its encounters: two naked players meeting on a beach, each holding a rock, deciding over voice chat whether to trust each other. Some of those meetings become lifelong friendships; many end badly and hilariously. A design of two figures with rocks on a sunrise beach captures the game's mix of tension and humor better than any battle scene.
Wildlife and the night
The island isn't empty: bears, wolves, boars, deer, chickens and sharks all roam it, and nights are genuinely dark, lit only by torches, campfires and the glow of distant bases. A night design, a lone campfire on a hillside under the stars, is a calm, atmospheric rug, a reminder of the quiet moments between fights.
Monuments
Rust's island is dotted with monuments, abandoned industrial sites full of loot and danger:
| Monument | Known for |
|---|---|
| Launch Site | A towering rocket gantry and high radiation |
| Oil Rig | An offshore platform guarded by scientists |
| The Dome | A giant spherical tank to climb |
| Airfield and Military Tunnels | Hangars, bunkers and crates |
| Outpost and Bandit Camp | Safe zones for trading |
A monument design, the Launch Site's gantry at sunset or the Dome against a grey sky, is an atmospheric, industrial rug for a man cave or a garage.
Hazmat suits and scrap
The yellow hazmat suit, worn to survive radiation at monuments, is one of Rust's most recognizable outfits, and scrap, the game's currency, is what everyone is always running out of. A hazmat design, a figure in a yellow suit and gas mask, is a bold, graphic rug, and a scrap-pile design is a funny inside joke for anyone who has spent a night recycling.
Helicopters and tanks
Rust's most dangerous enemies aren't always players: an armed patrol helicopter sweeps the island looking for targets, and a heavily armored Bradley tank guards the Launch Site. Taking one down is a clan achievement. A helicopter or tank silhouette against a stormy sky is a dramatic, military-style rug for a man cave.
Electricity, farming and horses
Experienced players build far beyond walls: solar panels and wind turbines powering lights and turrets, farms breeding crops for perfect genes, and horses for traveling the island. A design inspired by a well-built compound, with turbines and greenhouses, is a nod to the game's quieter, creative side.
Raids and wipes
Raids are the highlight and the heartbreak of Rust: explosives, rockets and satchel charges blasting through walls in the middle of the night. And every server is wiped regularly, forcing everyone back to the beach with a rock. That cycle of building and losing gives the game its drama. A raid design, a base wall blown open in a burst of light, is a dramatic rug for a setup, and a reminder that nothing lasts forever.
Industrial textures
Rust's look is industrial and weathered: corrugated metal, rusted steel, concrete, wood planks and chain-link fences. That aesthetic suits a real industrial-style room, with exposed brick, black metal furniture and Edison bulbs. A corrugated-metal or weathered-steel design is a rug that suits a loft, a garage workshop or a man cave whether or not anyone plays the game. Our man cave rugs have more ideas.
Clans and streamers
Rust is a social game, played in clans and teams, and it has a huge streaming community, with large events and community servers that draw thousands of viewers. For a clan, a rug with your clan's logo, through our custom rugs, is a great way to mark a shared gaming room. For a streamer, a simple, bold design, the rock, a code lock or a base blueprint, reads clearly on camera.
Trading at the Outpost
Not every interaction ends in a fight. At safe zones like the Outpost and Bandit Camp, players trade, gamble and buy from vending machines, and some build whole shops of their own. A vending-machine or trading-post design is a playful nod to Rust's surprisingly lively economy, and a fun rug for a game room with a real drinks machine.
Console edition
Rust Console Edition brought the game to PlayStation and Xbox, opening it to a new audience of survival players. Whether you play on PC or console, the same symbols, the rock, the code lock, the hazmat suit, are part of the experience.
A survival setup
Rust sessions can last all night, especially around wipe day, so comfort and grip matter. Under the gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft: its 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back lets wheels roll freely and stays put through a long defense. If your library also holds ARK or Minecraft, you'll find their pages too. See our gaming rugs for more.
Colors and rooms
Rust's palette is industrial and earthy: rust orange, steel grey, concrete, olive drab and hazmat yellow, with the green and red of code-lock lights. It suits black metal furniture, exposed brick, dark wood and warm Edison lighting. A rock or code-lock design is the most minimal; a monument or raid scene is the most dramatic.
Sizes and levels
The rock or a code lock suits a 3.3 to 4.6 ft (100 to 140 cm) round rug. A base blueprint, a monument or a corrugated-metal pattern suits a rectangle, 4×6 or 5×7 ft. A door design suits a 2×3 ft rug by the entrance. For a lounge, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back.
Gifts
A Rust rug is a great gift for a clanmate, a wipe-day veteran or a friend who once won a fight with only a rock. If you aren't sure which design to choose, the rock is the safest, and the funniest. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.
Care
Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes. The design is printed into the fibers, so it won't decay, even if you forget the Tool Cupboard.
A note on the game
Furnaces and smelting
Progress in Rust runs through the furnace. Feed it wood, drop in metal ore or sulfur, and it slowly smelts them into fragments and sulfur for gunpowder, often while you guard it nervously. A rug of a stone furnace glowing orange in a dark base, with stacks of ore beside it, is a warm, gritty design for a survival player's room.

FAQ
Questions about Rust Rugs
Which Rust rug design should I choose?
The rock, the starting tool every player begins with. A code-lock keypad glowing green is a fun design for a doorway.
Can I print my own base design?
Yes. Custom rugs can print your base blueprint, in white lines on navy or any colors, in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
Is this page about the game or rust-colored rugs?
It's about Rust, the survival game. For warm rust-colored designs in general, see our abstract and modern rugs.
Which design suits an industrial-style room?
A corrugated-metal or weathered-steel pattern, which suits exposed brick, black metal and Edison bulbs whether or not anyone plays.
Can my clan get a rug with our logo?
Yes. Custom rugs print any clan logo in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′, or cut to its shape.
Which Rust rug goes under a gaming chair?
Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft. A Launch Site or Oil Rig map sits flat on its faux leather back under the desk, so the chair rolls freely during a long raid.
How do I wash a Rust rug?
Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle and dry it flat. Rust orange and hazmat yellow are printed into the fibers, ironically rust-proof.
Is this official Rust merchandise?
No. The rock, code locks and monument maps are our own designs inspired by the game; Padrift isn't affiliated with Facepunch Studios.
