About The Witcher Rugs
A monster slayer for hire
The Witcher began with the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, whose first short story about Geralt of Rivia appeared in 1986 and grew into a series of books. Geralt is a witcher: a mutant monster hunter, trained from childhood, white-haired, cat-eyed and paid in coin to kill the things that haunt villages. He tries to stay neutral in the wars of kings. He never quite manages it.
CD Projekt Red turned the books into a trilogy of games, ending with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015, one of the most acclaimed role-playing games ever made, and Netflix brought the story to television in 2019. A Witcher rug brings that grim, beautiful, morally grey world into your room. Ours are printed into short velvet, so silver steel, muddy forests and the warm glow of a tavern come out with real texture, and they go in the washing machine.
The wolf medallion
The silver wolf's head that hangs around Geralt's neck, the mark of the School of the Wolf, vibrates when magic is near and has become the series' best-known symbol. Snarling, simple and circular, it's made for a round rug. A wolf medallion rug is the most versatile Witcher design: it looks like a heraldic emblem to visitors and like a promise of monster-slaying to any player. Other schools have their own medallions too, the Cat, the Griffin, the Bear, the Viper and the Manticore, for players who chose a different witcher gear set.
Geralt of Rivia
Geralt's look is instantly recognizable: long white hair tied back, two swords across his back, steel for humans and silver for monsters, scarred face and yellow eyes. Fans argue about whether he's a man of few words or just a man of very dry humor. A Geralt design, riding Roach through the mist or standing in a field of grass, sword drawn, is the signature Witcher rug, best in a game room or study where it can be the centerpiece.
Roach
Every horse Geralt has ever owned has been called Roach, and the faithful, long-suffering mare has become a fan favorite in her own right, not least for her habit, in the third game, of appearing in unlikely places, including the occasional rooftop. A Roach design, or Geralt and Roach resting by a campfire, is an affectionate, slightly funny Witcher rug for fans who spent as many hours riding as fighting.
Potions and alchemy
Before a hard contract, a witcher drinks potions that would kill an ordinary person: Swallow to heal, Cat to see in the dark, Thunderbolt to strike harder, each turning his eyes black and his veins dark. Alchemy, with its glass flasks, herbs, mutagens and handwritten formulae, gives the series a lovely apothecary look. A potion-shelf or alchemy-table design is an unusual, atmospheric rug for a study or a kitchen corner.
Ciri and Yennefer
Cirilla, Ciri, the princess with ashen hair and an elder bloodline, is Geralt's adopted daughter and the heart of the whole story; she's also set to lead the next game. Yennefer of Vengerberg, the sorceress in black and white with violet eyes, is the great love of Geralt's life. Designs of either, or of the three together as an unlikely family, are favorites with fans who care more about the people than the monsters.
The five Signs
Witchers use simple magical gestures called Signs, each with its own symbol:
- Aard, a telekinetic blast.
- Igni, a burst of fire.
- Yrden, a magical trap circle.
- Quen, a protective shield.
- Axii, a charm that bends minds.
The five Sign symbols together, set in a circle or a row, make one of the most elegant Witcher designs, almost like ancient runes. On a round rug they turn a doorway into a witcher's threshold, and Yrden, a circle of glowing symbols, is a playful choice for the floor right beneath your chair.
Gwent
For many players, the best part of The Witcher 3 wasn't fighting at all: it was Gwent, the card game played in every tavern from Velen to Skellige. Its card art, kings, monsters, Northern Realms soldiers and Nilfgaardian knights, is beautifully painted. A Gwent-style design, a giant card or a game board, makes a fun, tavern-themed rug for a card room or a game night corner.
The Wild Hunt
The spectral riders of the Wild Hunt, in spiked armor, crossing the sky on a storm of frost, are the third game's terrifying villains and one of fantasy's most striking images. A Wild Hunt design, dark blues, icy whites and silhouettes of riders against a pale moon, makes a dramatic rug for a dark gaming room.
The lands of the Continent
The Witcher 3's world has several distinct regions, and each feels like a different painting:
White Orchard and Velen are war-torn farmland and swamp, muddy browns and greens under heavy skies, a melancholy, rustic palette for a cabin-style room. Novigrad is a crowded free city of canals, markets and red rooftops. Skellige is a chain of windswept islands with Norse-inspired clans, longships and stormy seas, cold blues and greys for a coastal room. Kaer Morhen is the ruined witchers' keep in the mountains, grey stone and snow. And Toussaint, from the Blood and Wine expansion, is a sunlit, fairy-tale wine country of vineyards, castles and blue skies, the warmest and most cheerful palette in the series.
Toussaint and the home bar
Blood and Wine gave Geralt a vineyard of his own, Corvo Bianco, and a whole region built around wine, knights and fairy tales. That makes Toussaint a perfect theme for a home bar, a wine corner or a dining room. A vineyard landscape, or a design inspired by Toussaint's knightly heraldry and golden light, is a Witcher rug that feels at home among bottles, glasses and good company, and a wink to any guest who's played.
The bestiary
The Witcher's monsters come from Slavic folklore and Sapkowski's imagination: drowners, griffins, leshens with their antler skulls, fiends, noonwraiths, strigas, wyverns and the occasional dragon. Witchers study them in a bestiary before every contract. A bestiary-page design, a monster sketched like an old manuscript illustration with notes in the margins, is an unusual, clever rug for a study or a library, and it suits anyone who loves folklore.
The tavern
Some of the series' best moments happen over a drink: a game of Gwent in a smoky inn, Dandelion's songs at the Chameleon in Novigrad, a contract posted on a notice board by the door. A tavern-inspired rug, warm wood, candlelight and worn flagstones, suits a basement bar or game-night room perfectly.
The Netflix series
For many fans, The Witcher is also the Netflix series, which brought Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri and the bard Jaskier to a huge new audience from 2019, and made "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher" an earworm around the world. Designs inspired by the show's look, darker and more cinematic, suit a home theater as well as a game room.
Colors and rooms
The Witcher palette is earthy and muted: silver and steel, mud brown, forest green, stormy grey, with warm accents of firelight, autumn leaves and Toussaint gold. It suits wood, leather, wrought iron and stone, the materials of a study, a cabin or a traditional living room. A single warm accent, a lantern-style lamp, a copper mug, picks up the tavern glow.

Gifts
A Witcher rug is a great gift for the friend who finished Wild Hunt and both expansions, or the one who found the series through Netflix. If you aren't sure which design to choose, the wolf medallion is the safest. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.
Care
Vacuum on a low setting each week, blot spills with cold water straight away and wash the rug on a gentle, cold cycle when it needs it; let it air dry flat. The design is printed into the fibers, so the silver stays bright.
A note on the series
The witcher schools
Geralt trained at Kaer Morhen, the School of the Wolf, but the Continent once had other witcher schools, each with its own style and medallion. The School of the Cat favored speed, the Griffin balanced swordsmanship and signs, and the Bear relied on heavy armor. The Viper and the Manticore were more mysterious. In The Witcher 3, players can hunt down armor sets from these schools, scattered across the map.
A rug with six round medallions, wolf, cat, griffin, bear, viper and manticore, in tarnished silver on dark leather, is a collector's design for players who found every set.
