About World of Warships Rugs
Full speed ahead
World of Warships, from Wargaming, the studio behind World of Tanks, launched in 2015 and became the definitive naval combat game. Players command historic and paper-design warships from the early twentieth century to the years after the Second World War: battleships, cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers and submarines, from the navies of Japan, the United States, Germany, Britain, the Soviet Union, France, Italy and beyond. Its console version, Legends, brought the same battles to living rooms.
The game attracts a particular kind of player: people who know a ship's displacement and gun calibre, who build models, read naval history and admire the engineering of a battleship as much as its firepower. A World of Warships rug suits exactly that room. Ours are printed into short velvet, so fine blueprint lines, the hard geometry of camouflage and the colors of signal flags come out crisp, and they go in the washing machine.
Battleship blueprints
The most elegant naval design for a rug is the blueprint: a ship's profile and plan drawn in fine white lines on navy blue, like an original shipyard drawing. Yamato's enormous turrets, Bismarck's sleek hull, Iowa's long bow, HMS Hood, Montana, Richelieu. A blueprint rug looks like technical art to any visitor and like a favorite ship to a player. It suits a study, a home office or a gaming setup, and a long rectangle fits a ship's proportions perfectly.
Ships with real stories
Many of the game's ships carry real history. Yamato and her sister Musashi were the largest battleships ever built, with 18 in (46 cm) guns no other navy matched. Bismarck's single sortie in 1941 ended in one of the most famous chases at sea. USS Missouri was the deck on which Japan's surrender was signed in Tokyo Bay in 1945, and she now rests as a museum ship at Pearl Harbor. A rug of one of these ships is a piece of history as much as a piece of a game.
Dazzle camouflage
During the First World War, navies painted ships in wild, clashing patterns of stripes and angles, not to hide them, but to confuse enemies trying to judge their speed and heading. Dazzle camouflage, as it's known, inspired artists of the time and still looks strikingly modern. In World of Warships, players collect camouflage patterns of every kind. A dazzle-camo rug, black, white, grey and blue in bold, intersecting shapes, is one of the most stylish naval designs there is, and it works beautifully in a modern room even for someone who has never played.
Signal flags
Ships have communicated with flags for centuries, and the International Code of Signals assigns a colorful flag to every letter of the alphabet. Navies hang them in long strings when a ship is dressed for a celebration. A signal-flag rug, a row of flags spelling a name, a ship's motto or a hidden message, is a bright, nautical design that suits a coastal room, a kid's room or a sailor's den. Through our custom rugs, you can spell any word you like.
The ship classes
| Class | Role | Famous examples |
|---|---|---|
| Battleship | Heavy armor, huge guns | Yamato, Bismarck, Iowa, Missouri |
| Cruiser | Versatile, fast-firing | Des Moines, Zao, Moskva, Hindenburg |
| Destroyer | Fast, stealthy, torpedoes | Shimakaze, Gearing, Z-52 |
| Aircraft carrier | Launches squadrons | Midway, Hakuryu, Audacious |
| Submarine | Hidden, patient, deadly | Balao, U-2501 |
Every player has a favorite class, and most have a favorite ship. A rug of yours says which part of the battle you live for.
Navies and their colors
Each navy has its own look, which helps match a rug to a room. Imperial Japanese ships in grey with red and white rising-sun ensigns; American ships in measured blues and greys; German ships in sleek pale greys with dark Baltic camouflage; Royal Navy ships in Atlantic grey and white ensigns; Soviet ships in dark grey with red stars. A ship from the navy you play most, in its own colors, is a personal touch fans appreciate.
Sea charts and the grid
Every World of Warships battle is fought on a map divided into a grid, letters along one side and numbers along the other, so teammates can call out positions. A sea chart rug, a nautical chart with depth soundings, islands, a compass rose and grid squares, is a clever design for a gaming setup: it looks like an antique navigation chart, and every player will see the minimap. Our world map rugs share the same love of charts.
Ports and harbors
Between battles, players sit in port, their ship moored against a backdrop of cranes, docks, warehouses and water, at dawn, dusk or night. Those harbor views are calm and beautiful. A port design, a single warship at anchor in still water under a pale sky, is the most peaceful World of Warships rug, at home in a living room or a bedroom.
Clans and divisions
Competitive players fight in divisions with friends and in clan battles with their clan's tag and logo on every ship. A clan rug, your emblem on a navy ground or a pennant with your tag, is a great way to mark a team's base, a streaming setup or a LAN corner, and our custom rugs print any logo in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
Anime collaborations
World of Warships has run collaborations with naval anime and games such as Arpeggio of Blue Steel, High School Fleet and Azur Lane, bringing anime-styled captains and ships into the game. For players who came to the game through those series, a design that blends ship art with an anime look is a fun crossover, and our anime rugs have more of that style.
For model-ship builders
Many World of Warships players build scale models, 1/700 waterline kits or large 1/350 battleships with photo-etched railings. A rug in front of the display cabinet frames the fleet, and a calm blueprint or chart design keeps the attention on the models. Under a building desk, a plain or simple design makes dropped parts easier to find, and Standard's short 5 mm crushed velvet keeps tiny pieces on the surface rather than hidden in deep pile.
For veterans and naval history fans
A naval rug is a meaningful gift for a Navy veteran, a sailor or anyone fascinated by maritime history. A blueprint of a ship they served on or admire, signal flags spelling their name, or a compass rose with an anchor, carries a respect that goes beyond the game. Pair it with a framed photograph, a ship's bell or a model, and you have a proper wardroom.
Anchors and compass roses
For a subtle nautical touch, an anchor or a compass rose on a round rug is timeless: elegant, simple and at home in almost any room. It's the most understated naval design, and it pairs beautifully with our coastal rugs and ocean rugs for a whole maritime look.
A gaming setup
World of Warships battles take time, so comfort and grip matter. Under the gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft: its 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back lets wheels roll freely and stays put during a long, careful engagement. A sea chart or dazzle-camo design under a dark desk, with a model ship on the shelf and blue lighting, makes a fine bridge. See our gaming rugs for more ideas.
Colors
Naval palettes are calm and handsome: navy, battleship grey, white, steel, with the bright accents of signal flags and ensigns. Those tones suit modern rooms, wood-panelled studies and coastal homes alike. A navy blueprint rug looks particularly good with white walls and dark wood; a dazzle pattern suits a monochrome, modern room.
Sizes and levels
A blueprint suits a long rectangle, 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft, which matches a ship's proportions. A sea chart works well in 4×6 or 5×7 ft. Signal flags suit a 2×3 ft rug or a longer rectangle for a full word. An anchor or compass rose suits a 3.3 to 4.6 ft (100 to 140 cm) round rug. Choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, for a living room or study where you won't need a rolling chair.
Gifts
A World of Warships rug is a great gift for a clan captain, a model builder or a naval history enthusiast. If you aren't sure which ship they love, a dazzle-camo pattern or a compass rose is the safest. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.
Care
Vacuum on a low setting each week, blot spills with cold water straight away and wash the rug on a gentle, cold cycle when it needs it; let it air dry flat. The design is printed into the fibers, so blueprint lines stay crisp.
A note on the game
Battleship museums
Several real battleships are preserved as museums. The USS Missouri, where Japan's surrender was signed in 1945, sits at Pearl Harbor, and the USS Iowa, USS New Jersey and USS Texas are open to visitors in the United States. In Japan, the Mikasa, Admiral Togo's flagship from 1905, is preserved in Yokosuka. A rug of a battleship silhouette with its name and launch year is a fitting tribute for a veteran or a naval history fan.
