About Persona 5 Rugs
Take your heart
Persona 5, from Atlus, was released in Japan in 2016 and worldwide in 2017, with the expanded Persona 5 Royal following a few years later. By day you're a transfer student in Tokyo, on probation for a crime you didn't commit; by night you lead the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, slipping into the Metaverse to steal the corrupted desires of adults who abuse their power. Between heists, you study, work part-time, make friends, and drink a lot of coffee.
Persona 5 is famous for its style: red, black and white everywhere, menus that slash and spin across the screen, jazz-funk music and an attitude that makes even the pause screen exciting. That design language is exactly why it works so well as decor. A Persona 5 rug is a style statement first and a fan item second. Ours are printed into short velvet, so the sharp reds, deep blacks and crisp graphic shapes come out bold, and they go in the washing machine.
The calling card
Before every heist, the Phantom Thieves send a calling card: a collage of cut-out letters in mismatched fonts, red, black and white, with the thieves' grinning top-hat logo. It's the series' most iconic graphic. A calling-card rug is the boldest Persona 5 design: a giant ransom-note collage across the floor, graphic and punk to anyone who doesn't know the game, a warning to anyone who does. Through our custom rugs, you can even print one with your own message.
The Phantom Thieves' logo
The thieves' emblem, a stylized top hat with a sly grin, is the simplest way to put Persona 5 on the floor. In red on black, on a round rug, it's sharp, mysterious and works almost anywhere: a gaming setup, a bedroom door, a hallway. It's also the most subtle choice for a shared room; visitors will see a cool, graphic logo.
The style
Persona 5's visual language is unusually consistent, and it's a gift for decorating:
- Red, black and white, with almost nothing else.
- Jagged shapes and halftone dots, like a punk poster or a comic panel.
- Stars, silhouettes and cut-out type, collaged and layered.
- Diagonal motion, everything slanted as if caught mid-leap.
A rug in that style, even without a single character, is instantly recognizable to fans. Pair it with a black desk, white walls and red accent lighting, and the whole room becomes a menu screen.
Joker and the Phantom Thieves
The thieves each have a codename, a mask and a Persona, a manifestation of their rebellious spirit:
| Codename | Character | Persona |
|---|---|---|
| Joker | The protagonist | Arsène |
| Skull | Ryuji Sakamoto | Captain Kidd |
| Panther | Ann Takamaki | Carmen |
| Mona | Morgana | Zorro |
| Fox | Yusuke Kitagawa | Goemon |
| Queen | Makoto Niijima | Johanna |
| Oracle | Futaba Sakura | Necronomicon |
| Noir | Haru Okumura | Milady |
A Joker design, black coat, white mask, red gloves, with Arsène's wings behind him, is the signature design. A group design of the whole team mid-pose is the best choice for a fan who loves them all.
The Palaces
Each target's corrupted heart becomes a Palace in the Metaverse, a dungeon shaped by how they see the world: a castle for a tyrannical coach, a gaudy museum for a plagiarist artist, a flying bank for a loan shark, a pyramid in the desert, a spaceport, a neon casino and a vast cruise ship. Each has its own look, and fans have favorites. A Palace design, the casino's gold and neon or the museum's gilded frames, is an unusual, colorful Persona 5 rug that goes beyond the usual red and black.
Tarot and the confidants
Every friendship in Persona 5 is tied to a card of the tarot's Major Arcana: the Fool, the Magician, the Chariot, the Lovers, the Star and the rest, each with its own symbol and meaning. Players raise these confidant ranks across the school year. A tarot-card design, one arcana drawn in the game's style or a full spread across the floor, is an elegant, mysterious rug that also suits anyone who loves tarot art.
Akechi
Goro Akechi, the charming teenage detective who rivals the thieves, is one of the most debated characters in the series, and fans of his story are passionate. His look, a tan coat, a red-and-white hero-style Metaverse outfit, and a much darker alternative, makes a striking design for anyone who knows how his story unfolds.
Morgana
Morgana, the cat-like creature who insists he isn't a cat, guides the thieves through the Metaverse, turns into a bus when needed and constantly tells you to go to sleep. Fans love him. A Morgana design, black-and-white, big blue eyes, yellow neckerchief, is a cute, funny Persona 5 rug for a bedroom, especially at the foot of the bed where he'd nag you about bedtime. Cat lovers will also like our cat rugs.
The Velvet Room
Every Persona game has a Velvet Room, a space between dream and reality where the long-nosed Igor helps you fuse new Personas. In Persona 5, it's a prison, with blue velvet, iron bars and the twin wardens Caroline and Justine. Its rich, deep blue is a beautiful contrast to the game's reds. A Velvet Room design is the most elegant Persona 5 rug, and a moody, sophisticated choice for a bedroom.
Café Leblanc
Your home in Persona 5 is the attic above Leblanc, a small coffee and curry café in the back streets of Yongen-Jaya run by the gruff Sojiro Sakura. Learning to brew coffee and cook his curry is part of the game, and many fans have recreated both at home. A Leblanc-inspired design, warm wood, coffee cups, a steaming plate of curry, is a cozy, unusual Persona 5 rug for a kitchen or a home coffee corner. Choose Standard there; its non-slip back grips tile and wood.
Mementos
Beneath the city's Palaces lies Mementos, the collective unconscious of Tokyo, a twisting, endless version of the subway with red, pulsing walls and rails that wind ever deeper. Morgana drives the team through it in bus form. A Mementos design, subway lines curving into red darkness, is a moody, almost abstract rug for a dark gaming room.
Tokyo
Persona 5's Tokyo is a real, recognizable city: the Shibuya scramble crossing, Shinjuku's lights, the station at Yongen-Jaya, the batting cages and bathhouses and diners. A Tokyo night design in Persona red and black, with the city's silhouette and a few stars, is a stylish rug for a room where you want the game's mood without its characters.
The music
Shoji Meguro's soundtrack, acid jazz, funk and rock, with Lyn Inaizumi's vocals on tracks like "Life Will Change" and "Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There", is one of the most beloved in gaming. Fans play it while working, cooking and cleaning. A Persona 5 rug in a music corner, beside a record player or a keyboard, is a fitting tribute, and our music rugs have more for that kind of room.
Royal, Strikers and Tactica
Persona 5 Royal added a new Phantom Thief, Sumire Yoshizawa, a third semester and a whole new ending. Persona 5 Strikers took the thieves on a summer road trip across Japan, and Persona 5 Tactica reimagined them in a tactical strategy game. Whichever version you played, the style is the same, which makes any Persona 5 rug a fit for fans of the whole family.
A stylish gaming setup
Persona 5 is the rare game whose look can define a whole room. Under the gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft: its 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back lets wheels roll freely. Keep the room to red, black and white: a black desk, a red LED strip, white walls with a calling card framed on one, and a Morgana plush on the shelf. For more ideas, see our gaming rugs.
Sizes and levels
A calling card suits a rectangle, 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft. The thieves' logo or Morgana suits a 3.3 to 4.6 ft (100 to 140 cm) round rug. A group design or Velvet Room scene suits a 5×7 ft rug in Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, softer and warmer for a bedroom or living room.
Gifts for thieves
A Persona 5 rug is a great gift for the friend who spent 100 hours in Tokyo and maxed every confidant. If you aren't sure which design to choose, the Phantom Thieves' logo is the safest. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.
Care
Vacuum on a low setting each week, blot spills with cold water straight away and wash the rug on a gentle, cold cycle when it needs it; let it air dry flat. The design is printed into the fibers, so the reds stay as loud as the soundtrack.
A note on the game
Shibuya and Shujin Academy
Persona 5's Tokyo centers on Shibuya, where the famous scramble crossing fills with crowds at every light change, and on Shujin Academy, the high school where the Phantom Thieves first meet. A rug of the scramble crossing seen from above, its white stripes on dark asphalt with a red, black and white comic-style overlay, captures the game's stylish everyday world.
