For Super Earth

Helldivers 2, from the Swedish studio Arrowhead Game Studios, launched in February 2024 and became one of the biggest surprises in recent gaming. Squads of up to four Helldivers, elite soldiers of Super Earth, drop from orbit onto hostile planets to fight bugs, robots and worse, in the name of managed democracy. It's a cooperative shooter full of chaos, friendly fire and satire, with a straight-faced militaristic tone that nods to films like Starship Troopers.

Its community is one of the most enthusiastic in gaming, fighting a shared galactic war whose outcome depends on everyone's missions. The Super Earth emblem

Terminid orange and yellow is the brightest choice, while the Automatons' black steel and red light suits a darker gaming room.

The hellpod drop

Every mission begins with a hellpod screaming down from orbit and slamming into the planet's surface, and every Helldiver has landed on an enemy, or a teammate, at least once. A hellpod design, a glowing pod streaking through the atmosphere, is a dramatic, cinematic rug for a gaming room, and a fine reminder to watch where you land next time.

The galactic war

Helldivers 2 is played as one shared campaign. Every mission across the community pushes the front lines on a galactic map, liberating planets or losing them, and a guiding hand at the studio steers the story with new orders and surprises. Some battles became legendary among players, with whole planets remembered by name. Liberty and liber-tea

Where it began

Before the sequel's breakout success, the first Helldivers, released in 2015, was a top-down cooperative shooter with the same satirical tone, stratagems and friendly fire. The Super Destroyer

Between missions, each squad lives aboard its own Super Destroyer, a starship orbiting the planet, with a bridge, an armory and a galactic war table. Players give their ships proud names. The Ministry of Truth

Helldivers 2 is best with a full squad of four. Helldivers 2's palette is military and bold: black, gunmetal and khaki, with Super Earth's yellow and white, the Automatons' red and the bugs' orange. Yellow-and-black designs are striking in a dark setup; propaganda posters bring warmer, retro colors into a game room or den.

Sizes and levels

The Super Earth emblem or a helmet suits a 3.3 to 4.6 ft (100 to 140 cm) round rug. A stratagem code suits a long 2×3 or 3.3×5 ft rug. A propaganda poster, a hellpod or the galactic map suits 4×6 or 5×7 ft. For a lounge, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, which is softer and warmer.

A note on the game

Pelican-1, ready for extraction

Every mission ends with a race to the extraction zone and the arrival of Pelican-1, the dropship that carries surviving Helldivers back to the Super Destroyer.
