About GTA Rugs
Welcome to the city
Grand Theft Auto began in 1997 as a top-down crime game from DMA Design, the Scottish studio that became Rockstar North, and with Grand Theft Auto III in 2001 it turned into the open-world series that changed gaming. Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV and GTA V followed, each a satirical portrait of an American city and its culture. GTA V, released in 2013, became one of the best-selling entertainment products of all time, and GTA Online has kept millions of players busy ever since. GTA VI, returning to Vice City in the state of Leonida, is one of the most anticipated games ever made.
A GTA rug brings that sun-soaked, neon-lit, satirical world into your room. Ours are printed into short velvet, so sunset gradients, neon signs and the bold lines of the series' famous cover art come out crisp, and they go in the washing machine.
The cover art style
Few game series have a look as recognizable as GTA's box art: a grid of illustrated panels, each with a character or a scene, drawn in a slick, painterly comic style with bold outlines. It's been imitated everywhere. A rug in that style, a grid of panels with characters, cars and city scenes, is the most iconic GTA design, and through our custom rugs you can even put yourself and your friends into the panels in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
Vice City
Vice City, inspired by 1980s Miami, is pure neon: pink and turquoise signs, palm trees, Art Deco hotels on Ocean Drive, sports cars and a sky that turns violet at sunset. The 2002 game, with Tommy Vercetti and a soundtrack of eighties hits, defined the aesthetic, and GTA VI brings it back. A Vice City design, a neon skyline over the water with palm silhouettes, is one of the most stylish gaming rugs there is, and it reads as retro synthwave art to anyone who doesn't play.
Los Santos
Los Santos, GTA's satirical take on Los Angeles, appears in San Andreas and GTA V: the Vinewood sign on the hills, beaches and piers, sprawling freeways, gang neighborhoods and gleaming downtown towers. A Los Santos skyline at dusk, or the Vinewood hills under a smoggy sunset, is a warm, cinematic rug for a game room or a living room.
The cities through the series
| Game | City | Inspired by | Look |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA III and GTA IV | Liberty City | New York | Grey, gritty, rain-soaked |
| Vice City | Vice City | 1980s Miami | Neon pink, teal, palm trees |
| San Andreas | Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas | Early-90s California and Nevada | Sunbaked, hip-hop, casinos |
| GTA V | Los Santos | Modern Los Angeles | Golden sunsets, Vinewood |
| GTA VI | Vice City and Leonida | Modern Florida | Swamps, beaches, neon |
Vice City's neon pink and sunset orange make the most colorful choice for a gaming room.
Wanted stars
Every GTA player knows the stars in the corner of the screen: one star for a little trouble, five for helicopters and roadblocks. They're the series' most recognizable interface element. A five-star design, bold white stars on black, is a simple, graphic rug, and a funny warning for the teenager whose room it guards.
Wasted
And when it all goes wrong, the screen slows, desaturates and a single word appears: Wasted. It's become an internet meme of its own. A Wasted design is a dark, funny joke for a gaming setup, and a guaranteed laugh from any friend who has played.
The protagonists
GTA's heroes are as memorable as its cities: Claude, the silent hero of GTA III; Tommy Vercetti, the ambitious mobster of Vice City; Carl "CJ" Johnson, returning home to Grove Street in San Andreas; Niko Bellic, the immigrant war veteran of GTA IV; and GTA V's trio, Michael, the retired bank robber, Franklin, the young hustler, and Trevor, the chaos. GTA VI introduces Lucia and Jason. A character design in cover-art style suits fans with a favorite.
Grove Street
San Andreas opens with CJ returning home to Grove Street, a cul-de-sac in Los Santos where his family and friends wear green, and the neighborhood became one of the most beloved places in gaming. A Grove Street design, the street at sunset in green and gold, is a nostalgic rug for players who grew up with San Andreas.
Satire, brands and billboards
Part of GTA's humor is its world of fake brands and adverts, parodies of American consumer culture: Sprunk soda, Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell fast food, and countless billboards and radio ads. A design built from those parody brands, a Sprunk can or a burger joint's sign, is a funny, colorful rug for a kitchen, a game room or a home bar.
Cheat codes
GTA's cheat codes, long button sequences on consoles and typed words on PC, from instant health and armor to jetpacks and tanks falling from the sky, are part of growing up with the series. Many players still remember them by heart. A cheat-code design, a column of button presses or a famous code spelled out, is an inside joke only fellow players will crack.
Cars
GTA is a driving series as much as anything, with hundreds of cars inspired by real classics and supercars, from muscle cars and lowriders to sports cars and the occasional tank. A car design, a gleaming sports car under neon or a lowrider at a San Andreas cookout, is a great rug for a garage den, a car lover's bedroom or a racing-sim corner.
The radio
GTA's radio stations are legendary: carefully curated soundtracks of real songs, fake ads and comic DJs, from Vice City's eighties pop and rock stations to San Andreas's West Coast hip-hop and GTA V's pop, rock and electronic channels. Many players learned about whole eras of music by driving around. A radio-dial design, or a GTA rug beside a record player, is a fitting nod to the soundtrack of so many lives.
GTA Online
For millions of players, GTA means GTA Online: heists with friends, businesses, nightclubs, car meets and endless chaos in Los Santos. A rug for an online crew, your crew's emblem or a heist-themed design, is a great way to mark a shared gaming room.
Vice City and synthwave
Vice City's look has become part of a wider retro aesthetic, synthwave and outrun: sunsets in pink and orange, chrome grids, palm trees, neon lettering and eighties sports cars. A GTA-inspired synthwave rug fits beautifully in a room built around that style, with neon signs, a cassette deck and posters of sunsets. Our retro rugs share the same look.
A man cave or game room
GTA is a natural theme for a man cave or a game room: a big screen, a couch, a mini fridge and friends for a heist night. A Los Santos or Vice City rug under the coffee table, with neon accent lighting and framed cover-art prints, ties the room together. See our man cave rugs for more.
A Rockstar shelf
Many GTA players are Rockstar fans through and through. If your shelf also holds Red Dead Redemption, a GTA rug is its neon, modern counterpart. Browse more in our gaming rugs.
A note for younger rooms
GTA is made for adults, with crime, violence and satire throughout. If the rug is for a shared space or a younger player, a city skyline, a sports car or the Vice City sunset keeps the look without anything mature.
Colors and rooms
GTA's palettes range from Vice City's neon pink, teal and violet to Los Santos's golden sunsets and Liberty City's grey and rain. Neon designs suit a dark setup with RGB lighting; sunset designs suit a warm living room; cover-art designs suit anywhere.
Sizes and levels
Wanted stars or a single emblem suit a 3.3 to 4.6 ft (100 to 140 cm) round rug. A skyline, a car or a cover-art grid suits a rectangle, 4×6 or 5×7 ft. Under a gaming chair, choose Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft: its 5 mm crushed velvet on a non-slip faux leather back lets wheels roll freely. In front of a couch, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back.
Gifts
A GTA rug is a great gift for a long-time fan, a GTA Online crew member or a friend counting the days to GTA VI. If you aren't sure which design to choose, a Vice City sunset is the safest, loved by fans of the 2002 original and of GTA VI alike. Every rug is printed to order in 1–3 business days and ships from Turkey; US delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after that.
Care
Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes. The design is printed into the fibers, so the neon stays bright long after the sun sets on Vice City.
A note on the series
Back to Vice City
The next game, Grand Theft Auto VI, takes the series back to Vice City, this time inside the state of Leonida, a sun-soaked, swampy take on modern Florida, with two protagonists, Lucia and Jason. Its first trailer, released in December 2023, filled the screen with neon beaches, airboats and flamingo-pink sunsets.
That return makes a classic Vice City rug feel current again: palm trees, a pink and turquoise sunset over the ocean, and a skyline of neon towers, a perfect fit for a game room waiting for the next chapter.

FAQ
Questions about GTA Rugs
Which GTA design makes the best rug?
A Vice City neon skyline with palm trees, and the classic cover-art panel grid. Five wanted stars is a great simple design.
Can I put myself in a GTA-style cover art design?
Yes. Custom rugs can print your own panels and photos in the cover-art style, in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
Which GTA design suits a living room?
A Vice City sunset or a Los Santos skyline at dusk. Both read as retro or cinematic city art.
Does this page cover GTA VI?
Yes. It covers the whole series, from GTA III and Vice City to San Andreas, GTA IV, GTA V, GTA Online and GTA VI.
Is a GTA rug suitable for a younger player's room?
The games are made for adults. For younger players, choose a city skyline, a sports car or a Vice City sunset.
Which GTA rug goes under a gaming chair?
Standard, 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft. A Vice City sunset or a Los Santos map makes a fun desk rug, and its faux leather back keeps the rug flat while the chair moves.
How do I wash a GTA rug?
Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle and dry it flat. Vice City neon and Los Santos sunset gold are printed into the fibers.
Is this official Grand Theft Auto merchandise?
No. Our city map and sunset designs are original; Padrift isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
