About Gaming Rugs
A rug made for the room where you play
A game room is built from the things you can see from your chair: the monitors, the shelf of figures, the poster you finally framed, the light strip behind the desk. The floor is usually the one thing left out. A gaming rug changes that. It marks out the setup as its own space, it gives a stream or a video call something better behind you than bare laminate, and it protects the floor from the slow damage a rolling chair does over a few hundred hours.
Ours are printed rather than woven, which is what lets them carry real game art. A Warhammer 40K aquila keeps its gold detailing, a Dark Souls bonfire scene keeps its embers, a World of Warcraft crest keeps every line of its heraldry. The velvet is short and even, so the rug lies flat, takes a chair without bunching and goes in the washing machine when energy drinks inevitably happen.
This page is also our game room rug collection: whether you call it a gaming rug, a gamer rug, a video game rug or a rug for the game room, it is the same idea, a floor that belongs to the games you love. Browse by game below, or jump to the setups and sizes further down.
Find your game
Every game has its own page with all of its designs, and the filter at the top of this page lists them all. To help you find your corner of the library, here they are by the kind of game they come from.
Dark fantasy and soulslike
For players who die a lot and like it: Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Lies of P, Hollow Knight and Diablo. These designs lean on firelight, stone and gold, and they look best in a room with warm lighting and dark wood.
Sci-fi, grimdark and tabletop
Warhammer, with its gold aquilas, chapter icons and gothic architecture, sits naturally next to Halo, Mass Effect, Helldivers 2, Starfield, Dead Space and Doom. Tabletop players will also find Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur's Gate 3 and Magic: The Gathering.
RPGs and open worlds
World of Warcraft, Skyrim, The Witcher, Final Fantasy, Fallout, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Kingdom Hearts, Persona 5, NieR, Monster Hunter and Red Dead Redemption: worlds you spend a hundred hours in, which is reason enough to have one on the floor.
Competitive and shooters
League of Legends, Valorant, Counter-Strike, Overwatch, Dota 2, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege and Call of Duty. These are the rugs that end up under a ranked grind, so most of them suit the Standard level and a chair-sized rug.
Retro, arcade and fighting games
Pac-Man, Mario, Sonic, Street Fighter, Tekken, Mega Man, Castlevania and Metroid, plus the neon patterns of arcade carpet and controller-shaped game controller rugs.
Cozy games
Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Minecraft and Stray: softer colors for bedrooms, reading corners and the kind of setup that has a plant on the desk.
Scene, crest, map or pattern?
Game rugs come in four broad kinds, and knowing which one you want narrows the choice fast.
- Scenes are full illustrations: a boss arena, a landscape, a cast of characters. They are the most immersive and work best as the centerpiece of a room, where nothing covers them.
- Crests and emblems are faction symbols, guild banners and logos. They are cleaner and easier to live with, and they often come as round or die-cut rugs, which makes them a natural fit under a chair.
- Maps turn a world you know by heart into a floor you can stand on. They reward a second look and suit a living room or a hallway as much as a game room.
- Patterns borrow a game's look without its characters: arcade carpet, pixel art, controller shapes, a faction's colors. They are the subtle option for a shared room or a home office.
Console rooms, couch gaming and VR
Not every game room has a desk. If you play on a console from the sofa, the rug belongs between the seating and the TV, where it defines the play area and gives anyone sitting on the floor somewhere soft. A 4×6 or 5×7 ft rug is the usual size there, and Premium is the more comfortable choice, since nothing rolls over it.
VR players have a different reason to want a rug: standing on one tells your feet where the middle of your play space is without taking the headset off. A round or square-ish rug in the center of the area does this best. Keep it to Standard on a smooth floor, so it doesn't slide when you turn quickly.
Small rooms, dorms and bedroom setups
A lot of gaming happens in a corner of a bedroom or a dorm. A rug is the easiest way to make that corner feel like a setup rather than a desk shoved against a wall: a 2.6×3.9 ft or 3.3×5 ft rug under the chair marks the space, and the rest of the room stays a bedroom. Because the rug is washable and thin, it also survives a dorm year and folds into a box when you move out.
Building a game room around a rug
If you are planning a game room from scratch, start with the rug and work outward. It is the largest single surface you control apart from the walls, and it sets the color palette for everything else.
- Pick one or two colors from the rug and repeat them. A Dark Souls rug full of ember orange looks deliberate next to a warm light strip set to the same shade; a Valorant rug in red and off-white pairs with a white desk and red peripherals.
- Light the rug, not just the desk. Velvet catches light at an angle, so a low lamp or an LED strip under the desk makes the print glow softly in a dark room. Cold white light flattens it; warm or colored light brings it out.
- Frame it for the camera. If you stream or record, sit in your chair, open your camera and look at what is behind and below you. A rug that fills the lower third of the frame does more for a stream than another poster.
- Give the rug room to breathe. Leave some floor visible around it. A rug pushed into a corner under a pile of cables reads as an afterthought; one with a margin of floor around it reads as part of the design.
- Soften the sound. A rug absorbs some of the echo a bare room throws back at a microphone, and it takes the edge off the clatter of a dropped controller.
A rug under your gaming chair
Rolling chairs wear down hardwood and laminate in a slow, uneven circle, and hard plastic chair mats are not much nicer to look at. A rug is the better-looking answer, as long as it is the right kind. Pick the Standard level for anything a chair rolls over: its crushed velvet is 5 mm thick and its faux leather back grips the floor, so the wheels roll over it instead of pushing it around. Premium is plusher and lovely to stand on, but too soft for chair wheels.
Size it to your actual movement. Sit at the desk, push back as far as you normally do when you lean back or stand up, and measure from the front edge of the desk to the back of the chair at that point. Then add a little on each side for turning.
| Setup | Size that usually fits |
|---|---|
| Compact desk, one monitor | 3.3×5 ft (100 × 150 cm) |
| Standard gaming desk, two monitors | 4×6 ft (120 × 180 cm) |
| L-shaped desk or a chair plus a guest seat | 5×7 ft (150 × 214 cm) |
| Console setup in front of a TV | 4×6 or 5×7 ft, in front of the seating |
Before you order, sit at your desk and push back as far as you normally do. The rug should reach a little beyond that point, so the chair never drops off its edge in the middle of a match.
Round and die-cut rugs work under a chair too, as long as the chair stays on the rug as you move. A round rug suits a swivel chair that turns more than it rolls.
Family game rooms and shared spaces
When a game room is also where the kids play, the TV room or the spare bedroom, the rug has to please more than one person. Cozy and retro designs, Mario, Kirby, Stardew Valley, Pac-Man, travel well between ages; a crest or a map from a bigger franchise often suits adults without overwhelming the room. Whatever you choose, washability matters more here than anywhere: snacks, juice and controllers all end up on the floor sooner or later, and a rug that goes in the machine is a rug nobody has to worry about.
Renting? Protect the floor without a plastic mat
A rolling chair on a rental's hardwood or laminate can cost you part of a deposit. The usual fix is a hard plastic chair mat, which scuffs, yellows and looks out of place in a room you care about. A Standard rug does the same job with no adhesive and nothing to screw down: the faux leather back grips the floor, the wheels roll on the velvet, and when you move out it goes in a box.
Gaming rugs as gifts
Gamers are notoriously hard to buy for: they already own the games, the hardware upgrades are expensive and the merch they want is often sold out. A rug of the game they have sunk the most hours into is a gift they will use every day. If you know their setup, a 3.3×5 ft Standard rug fits under almost any gaming chair; for a bedroom or a console room, a 2.6×3.9 ft rug by the bed or a 5×7 ft one in front of the TV. Order a week or more ahead of the date, since each rug is printed to order.
Your own logo, guild crest or channel art
Clans, guilds, esports teams and streamers use our custom rugs for their own logos and channel art: upload a PNG with a transparent background, choose custom cut and the rug takes the shape of the emblem. It is printed on the same velvet, in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
Looking after a gaming rug
Under a desk, a rug collects crumbs, cable dust and the occasional spill. Vacuum it on a low setting every week or two, blot spills straight away with cold water, and when it needs a full clean, wash it on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat before the chair goes back on it. Because the design is printed into the fibers, it keeps its colors through washing and through the afternoon sun that hits a desk by a window.

FAQ
Questions about Gaming Rugs
Can a gaming rug go under a gaming chair with wheels?
Yes, in the Standard level. Its 5 mm velvet and non-slip faux leather back stay flat and in place while the wheels roll over it. Premium is too plush for chair wheels.
What size rug do I need for a gaming setup?
Measure from the desk edge to the back of your chair when you push back. A compact desk usually takes 3.3×5 ft, a two-monitor desk 4×6 ft and an L-shaped desk 5×7 ft.
Which games do you have rugs for?
More than eighty, from Warhammer, World of Warcraft, Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Halo to League of Legends, Pokémon, Minecraft and Stardew Valley. Each game has its own page in the filter on this page.
Is a gaming rug the same as a game room rug?
Yes. A game room rug is simply a rug for the room where you play, usually themed around your games. All of ours suit game rooms, and this page gathers them.
Will a rug help my stream or microphone sound better?
It helps a little. A rug absorbs part of the echo a bare floor reflects back at the microphone and muffles footsteps and dropped controllers, though it is no replacement for acoustic panels.
Can I get a rug with my clan, guild or channel logo?
Yes. Our custom rugs are printed from your own file; a PNG with a transparent background can be cut to the shape of your logo, in any size up to 5′11″ × 10′.
How do I clean a rug that lives under my desk?
Vacuum it on a low setting every week or two and blot spills with cold water. For a full clean, wash it on a gentle cold cycle and let it air dry flat before rolling the chair back on.
How quickly will my gaming rug arrive?
Most gamers get theirs in about a week: we print each rug in 1–3 business days after you order, then it ships from Turkey and usually lands at a US address 2–5 business days later.
