Welcome to the Apex Games

Apex Legends arrived without warning in February 2019, released by Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall, and within days it was one of the most played games in the world. It's a free-to-play battle royale set in the Outlands of the Titanfall universe, where squads of three drop from a ship onto an island, scavenge for weapons and fight to be the last team standing. Its twist is the Legends: characters with distinct abilities, personalities and stories, who make every match feel like a team sport.

Apex also introduced the ping system, a way to communicate with teammates without saying a word, which changed how shooters are designed. For its players, the game is about squads, clutch revives and the rush of the champion screen. An Apex Legends rug brings that energy to the floor of the setup. The Legends

Every player has a main, and Apex fans are loyal to theirs. The original eight still have huge followings:

• Wraith, the interdimensional skirmisher with her void portals and kunai.
• Pathfinder, the cheerful robot with a grapple and an endless supply of friendliness.
• Bloodhound, the masked tracker from a Norse-inspired tradition.
• Lifeline, the combat medic; Gibraltar, the shielded protector; Bangalore, the soldier; Caustic, the gas trapper; and Mirage, the trickster with his decoys.

Later seasons brought Octane, Wattson, Crypto, Revenant, Loba, Horizon, Valkyrie, Seer, Ash, Catalyst and many more, each with a loyal player base. A main's portrait, or their signature ability, makes the most personal Apex rug.

Stories from the Outlands

Apex has a surprisingly rich story, told through animated shorts, comics, in-game quests and character voice lines. The Apex Games themselves are run by the shadowy Syndicate, and the Legends have families, rivalries and secrets: the Hound's devotion to the Allfather, Crypto's hidden identity, Revenant's hatred of his own robotic body, Loba's revenge. Fans who follow the lore often choose a design tied to a favorite story moment rather than a match.

Rank badges

Ranked play has its own ladder of emblems: Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and, at the very top, Apex Predator, reserved for the best players in each region. A rank badge on a round rug is a trophy for the floor, and a quiet statement every time a teammate looks over. It's also an honest one; there's a certain charm in proudly displaying Gold, and a fun goal in a Predator badge waiting to be earned.

Banner badges

Apex players show off their achievements on banners: badges for dealing 4,000 damage in one match, for 20 kills, for winning with a full squad, and frames, poses and quips to match. Those badges are the game's bragging rights. A rug designed like a player banner, a Legend's pose with a row of badges beneath, is a clever, custom-feeling design. Care packages

Partway through a match, a care package drops from the sky, glowing, beeping and full of top-tier loot, and every squad nearby races for it. The crate, with its bright markings and blue light, is one of the game's most recognizable objects. A care package design is a fun, graphic rug, and a perfect gift for the player who always pings it first.

Apex has been played on a series of very different islands:

If you can't decide on a map, pick the one where your best win happened. Kings Canyon and World's Edge are the classics, while Storm Point and Broken Moon suit players who joined in later seasons.

A drop map, showing your squad's favorite landing zone, is a clever rug for a gaming chair, and a landscape from Olympus or E-District is a striking, colorful piece for a gaming room.

Heirlooms

Each Legend has an heirloom, an ultra-rare melee weapon with its own inspect animation: Wraith's kunai, Bloodhound's axe, Lifeline's batons, Octane's butterfly knife and many more. Owning one is a badge of dedication. A favorite heirloom's silhouette on a dark rug is a sleek, graphic design, at home in a minimalist setup.

Weapons and loadouts

Every player has a favorite pairing: the Wingman and the Peacekeeper, the R-301 and a sniper, the Kraber when it shows up in a care package. Weapon silhouettes, attachments and ammo-type colors, light, heavy, energy, shotgun, sniper, make a sharp, technical design. A loadout rug, two favorite weapons crossed on a dark ground, suits a setup where the game's gunplay is the main event.

Seasons and events

Apex changes every few months with a new season, a battle pass and limited-time events: Halloween modes, holiday maps, collection events with themed skins. Some players remember exactly which season they started. A season-themed design, its colors and emblem, is a nice way to mark the moment you joined the Games.

The Global Series

The Apex Legends Global Series turns the game into a major esport, with teams from around the world competing in tournaments that fill arenas. Fans follow their favorite teams and players closely. The ping system

Apex's ping system lets players mark enemies, loot and locations with a single button, and its little icons, an enemy marker, an "I'm going here" ping, a weapon tag, have become a language of their own. A ping-icon design is an inside-joke rug for players who've coordinated whole matches without saying a word. It's also a good reminder for the teammate who never pings anything.

Champion

The champion screen, the moment the squad's names and kill counts appear after winning, is the high point of every Apex session. A champion-inspired design, the trophy and the three Legends side by side, is a celebratory rug for a squad that plays together every night. Many squads share a room or a house, and a rug with all three mains is a great gift for the whole team.

The Titanfall connection

Apex Legends shares its universe with Titanfall: the IMC, the Frontier, Titans and pilots. Several Legends have ties to that history, and fans of the original games still hope for more. A design that nods to Titanfall, a Titan silhouette or the Frontier Militia's emblem, is a deep cut for long-time Respawn fans.

A setup that plays well

Battle royale matches are intense and long, so the rug under your chair needs to grip and stay flat. Battle royale shelves

Apex players often play other big multiplayer games too. If your library includes Fortnite, PUBG or Valorant, you'll find their own pages as well.

Sizes and levels

Under a gaming chair, Standard in 3.3×5 or 4×6 ft. A rank badge or care package suits a 3.3 to 3.9 ft (100 to 120 cm) round rug. A map or Legend portrait suits a rectangle, 4×6 or 5×7 ft, and for a lounge area where the squad watches matches, choose Premium, 7 mm plush velvet on a bamboo and cotton back, which is softer and warmer.

Care

Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and let it air dry flat. Vacuum on a low setting between washes. The design is printed into the fibers, so the colors stay bright season after season, long after the battle pass has ended.

A note on the game

Nessies and other secrets

Apex hides small jokes for sharp-eyed players, and the little green Nessie plush is the best known, a Loch Ness monster toy tucked into maps since the game's early seasons. A round rug with a single Nessie is a quiet nod that only another player will spot.
