About this design
A red fox has curled up for a nap in the very middle of this fox MTG playmat, nose tucked into its tail. Around it spreads a mirrored woodland tapestry: oak leaves, ferns, hawthorn berries, wild strawberries, bell-shaped flowers and little cream blossoms, all set on a deep green-black ground.
Forest green, sage, berry red and fox orange make a rich, classic palette. The fox sits dead center, and the symmetrical pattern frames it on every side. Cards read well against the dark background between leaves.
Painted in the William Morris tradition, with leafy scrolls, fine gold veins on every leaf and a soft watercolor wash underneath. The fox's fur is drawn in delicate directional strokes, with a fine golden halo along its outline. It pairs naturally with our sleeping fawn tapestry, but this one is cooler and greener.
Size is 24 x 14 in (61.5 x 35.5 cm), standard tournament size. Cards slide and lift clean off the micro-fiber top, sleeved or not. A non-slip rubber base keeps the mat locked in place through long Commander nights. We print with dye-sublimation, so the greens are set into the fabric and will not crack or fade.
