A tiger braces on a wet boulder and roars into the rain on this Storm Tiger Bamboo MTG playmat, claws hooked over the stone and tail curled high behind it. Lightning splits the sky in the top left. Bamboo bends hard in the wind on both sides, and a white-water river crashes through the rocks to the lower right.
Orange and black stripes make the tiger the brightest thing on the mat by a wide margin. Around it everything is slate blue, wet green and grey stone, so the cat jumps forward the moment the mat is unrolled. Your cards end up sitting over rock and foliage, which keeps the face and claws in view.
The Art: Woodblock Thunderstorm
Diagonal rain lines run across the entire image, a classic trick from Japanese woodblock prints that makes the weather feel loud. Clouds roll in thick, curling bands outlined in thin gold. Each stripe on the tiger is laid down as a single confident ink stroke, and the fur along its chest and jaw is hatched in fine lines. Look at the river: foam breaks into small clawed curls rather than soft spray. Compared with calmer animal designs in our collection, this one is pure motion, with every element leaning the same direction as the wind.
Storm Tiger at the Table
Cut to 24 x 14 in (61.5 x 35.5 cm), the mat follows standard tournament size and fits a full board of lands, creatures and tokens. Sleeves slide and lift cleanly on the micro-fiber top. A non-slip rubber base keeps it fixed in place through aggressive shuffles. Since we print with dye-sublimation, the color lives inside the fabric, so the stripes stay sharp and nothing cracks or fades over time. More designs live in our Magic playmats, led by the Great Wave playmat. Players of other games can browse all our TCG playmats.
With Zones or Without Zones
Pick With Zones for faint guides marking library, graveyard, exile, the command zone and battlefield lanes for lands and creatures. As an MTG playmat with zones it handles Commander/EDH tables and 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer. Without Zones keeps the storm scene complete. Either way, the tiger stays front and center.
