A giant skeleton leans out of the storm clouds on this Gashadokuro Skeleton MTG playmat, one bony hand closing over the roof of a ruined shrine while the other reaches down into the pampas grass. Its skull grins toward the broken building. A full moon and a few bats hang in the top right corner.
Bone white and pale gold stand out sharply against navy cloud. Torn red curtains on the shrine add the only warm color. Since the skeleton fills the upper left and the shrine sits right, the lower middle of the mat stays open grass, good space for your battlefield.
The Art: Yokai Ink Night Scene
Gashadokuro are the towering skeleton spirits of Japanese folklore, and this design draws on the woodblock prints that made them famous. Clouds swirl in layered ink bands. Every rib, vertebra and finger joint is shaded separately, with cracks and stains on the skull. Down on the shrine, the roof tiles have slipped, beams are snapped, and the floral curtains hang in rags, details that make the scene feel abandoned rather than simply spooky.
Gashadokuro Skeleton at the Table
Standard tournament size applies here too: 24 x 14 in (61.5 x 35.5 cm). Its micro-fiber top keeps cards sliding easily and lifting clean. A non-slip rubber base keeps it from shifting across the table. Thanks to dye-sublimation, the ink sits inside the fabric, so no cracking and no fading. With Zones or Without Zones
Zoned mats get soft guides for library, graveyard, exile, the command zone and battlefield lanes for lands and creatures, a fit for Commander/EDH and 60-card formats alike. Without Zones lets the skeleton and shrine fill every inch. Fitting, too, that the graveyard zone sits right under a pile of bones.
