About GTA Mouse Pads

GTA mouse pads for the desk

Our GTA mouse pads and desk mats carry art inspired by Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series, printed in high resolution across the whole surface of a 3 mm neoprene pad. The fabric top suits fast mouse work, the non-slip base keeps the pad where you put it, and the stitched border stops the edges from fraying. Sizes run from an 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) mouse pad to a 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) desk mat, eight in all; you'll find the ones a particular design comes in on its product page, and nothing is printed until it's ordered.

Grand Theft Auto began in 1997, made by DMA Design, the Scottish studio that later became Rockstar North. Grand Theft Auto III turned it into a 3D open world in 2001, and GTA V, from 2013, reached PC in 2015 and has been played there ever since, largely through GTA Online. Each game is built around one city, and each city has a look strong enough to carry a desk.

A city seen from above

The first two games, Grand Theft Auto in 1997 and GTA 2 in 1999, were played from directly overhead. You looked down on the streets, rooftops and cars like a map that moved. That view is exactly how you look at a desk mat, which makes a top-down city one of the most natural GTA designs. Roads, blocks and parked cars seen from above form a pattern that the keyboard can cover in the middle without breaking, and a car or two in the corners keeps it unmistakably Grand Theft Auto.

The radar in the corner

From GTA III onward, the games have put a small round radar in the bottom-left corner of the screen, showing the streets around you, mission blips and police. A circular radar works well on a desk mat in the same spot. On a right-handed setup, the lower left of a mat is usually free, just left of the keyboard, so a radar placed there stays visible all day while the rest of the mat holds a skyline or a plain dark field.

The little arrow in the middle of the radar, your position, is a detail players spot at once.

Mouse and keyboard in Los Santos

On PC, GTA V plays as a third- or first-person shooter with the mouse, and shootouts reward a smooth, controlled glide. Driving runs on the keyboard, with the mouse turning the camera, and flying on a keyboard takes practice, which is why some players keep a controller next to it for helicopters and planes.

That mix is a good reason to size up. An XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), holds a keyboard, a mouse with room for wide turns in a gunfight and a controller waiting at one end. The non-slip base keeps it all still when a police chase gets frantic.

The shape of the GTA V map

GTA V's state of San Andreas is taller than it is wide: Los Santos fills the south, Blaine County spreads across the middle, and Mount Chiliad and Paleto Bay sit up in the north. That shape doesn't fit a long, shallow desk mat without cropping. A full map needs depth, so it suits the XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), or the 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), where it can be turned on its side and still keep every district readable.

On a narrow strip, choose a slice instead: the Los Santos coastline from Del Perro to the docks, or the Vinewood hills above downtown.

Vice City lighting

Vice City, the 2002 game set in a version of 1980s Miami, is the most colorful setting in the series: hot pink, turquoise, purple dusk, palm trees and Art Deco neon. It translates directly into lighting. Pink and teal LED strips, a white desk and pastel keycaps make a Vice City mat look like part of the room rather than a sticker on it.

On a black desk, a Vice City night scene does the opposite job, glowing out of the dark like a sign seen from across the street. Either way, keep the rest of the setup simple; the art already brings all the color the desk needs.

Liberty City in gray

Grand Theft Auto IV, from 2008, took the series to Liberty City, its version of New York, and to Niko Bellic's grim story. The palette is the series' most restrained: wet asphalt, steel bridges, brick, overcast skies and the occasional yellow cab. That makes it the GTA for a minimal, dark setup, where a bright neon scene would feel out of place. A rainy skyline across a mat suits black or gunmetal peripherals and cool white light.

San Andreas green and gold

San Andreas, from 2004, sent Carl "CJ" Johnson home to Grove Street, where his crew wears green, and spread its story across three cities and the desert between them. Its look is sun-faded gold, dusty orange and that Grove Street green. A San Andreas design suits a warm desk with wood and amber light, and a single line of text in the game's mission-complete style, a nod to the "Respect +" message, makes a funny small pad for anyone who played it.

Cover-panel layouts

GTA box art arranges illustrated panels in a grid, each with a character, a car or a scene, all in the same slick, heavy-outlined style. That grid suits a desk mat because it doesn't depend on one central image. The keyboard can cover the panels in the middle and the ones at each end still read as finished pictures. Put the panel you care about most at the end away from your mouse hand, and the busiest action panels at the edges.

Stars, Wasted and Busted

The wanted level is the piece of interface every GTA player knows. GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas used six stars; GTA IV and GTA V use five. A row of stars along the top edge of a small pad is a simple, graphic design, and it reads as GTA to anyone who has ever outrun a helicopter.

The game-over screens work the same way. "Wasted" in its slow, gray fade or "Busted" after an arrest makes a dark, funny small pad, and it fits the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) size, where a single word needs no background.

Cars along a strip

A car seen from the side is long and low, which is exactly the shape of the M and L sizes. A sports car under neon, a lowrider, a muscle car or a police cruiser with lights flashing can run the length of a strip under the keyboard, with the front end peeking out on one side. For a desk that doubles as a racing setup, a car design under the keyboard pairs well with a wheel clamped to the edge of the desk.

GTA Online and roleplay

GTA Online has kept GTA V alive for more than a decade, with the Heists update in 2015, the Cayo Perico Heist in 2020 and a steady stream of businesses and vehicles. Roleplay servers built on FiveM, whose makers Rockstar acquired in 2023, have become a world of their own, played and streamed for hours at a time.

Those are long sessions at a desk, often on camera. A desk mat gives a streaming setup a clean, branded-looking base that reads well in an overhead shot, and the cushioned surface is easier on the wrists through a four-hour roleplay shift.

Cheats on a PC keyboard

On consoles, GTA cheats are button sequences. On PC, San Andreas lets you type them straight into the game as words, and GTA V opens a console where you enter them. Plenty of players still remember a few by heart. A design that spells out a classic cheat in small type along the edge of a mat is an inside joke that fits a keyboard-heavy desk, and the mat underneath keeps the board from sliding while you type.

Leonida on the horizon

Grand Theft Auto VI, revealed with a trailer in December 2023, returns to Vice City inside the state of Leonida, a version of modern Florida, with Lucia and Jason as its leads. Its first footage was full of swamps, beaches, highways and neon nightlife. For a desk, that means the Vice City palette with more green and water in it, and a design leaning on Leonida's marshes and sunsets suits a setup built around teal and orange light.

A GTA mat for a shared desk

The games are rated for adults, and not every desk is private. For an office, a shared family computer or a younger player's room, pick the city rather than the crime: a Vice City sunset, a Los Santos skyline, a rainy Liberty City bridge or a top-down street grid. They read as city art to most people and as GTA only to those who know.

Sizes for a GTA desk

Each GTA design's product page lists the sizes it can be printed in. Here is a guide to what fits where.

SetupSizeGood for
Mouse onlyS, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm)A row of wanted stars or "Wasted"
Laptop deskTCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm)A single cover-art panel
Compact keyboardM, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm)A car in profile under the keys
Keyboard, mouse and controllerXL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm)A skyline with a radar in the corner
Deep deskXXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm)The full GTA V map turned on its side
The whole desk4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm)A cover-panel grid from end to end

For in-between desks, the L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), gives a car or a coastline more length, and the 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), is the wide option for a desk too shallow for the XXL.

Gifts for a GTA player

A GTA pad suits someone who still knows their San Andreas cheats, a GTA Online crew member, a roleplay streamer or a friend waiting for Leonida. Choose by the city they talk about; if you're not sure, a skyline at dusk is hard to get wrong. When you can't check the desk, an XL is the practical size.

Pads are made to order in 1–3 business days and dispatched from Turkey, and orders to the US usually show up 2–5 business days after that.

Cleaning a city at night

Dark Liberty City and night-time Vice City designs hide skin oil but show dust; bright sunset scenes do the reverse. Wipe the pad with a damp cloth when it needs it and blot spills immediately. For a deeper clean, hand wash it in lukewarm water with mild soap, rinse it, press it inside a towel to draw out the water and leave it flat to dry. No machine washing, no tumble drying and no ironing, and the neon stays as bright as the night you bought it.

FAQ

Questions about GTA Mouse Pads

Will a full GTA V map fit on a desk mat?

Yes, with enough depth. The map is taller than it is wide, so it suits the XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), or 4XL turned on its side. On a narrow strip, a slice such as the Los Santos coast works better.

Which GTA design suits pink and teal lighting?

Vice City: hot pink, turquoise and purple dusk over palm trees and neon. On a white desk with pastel keycaps it blends into the room; on a black desk a night scene glows out of the dark.

Is a GTA desk mat okay for an office or a shared desk?

Choose the city instead of the crime: a Vice City sunset, a Los Santos skyline, a rainy Liberty City bridge or a top-down street grid. Those read as city art to anyone who hasn't played.

Should a GTA mouse pad leave room for a controller?

If you fly or drive with one, yes. An XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), holds a keyboard, a mouse with room for gunfights and a controller at one end, so you can switch mid-mission.

How many wanted stars should a GTA pad show?

It depends on the era you played: GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas used six stars, while GTA IV and GTA V use five. A row along the top edge of the small pad stays visible beside the mouse.

Are these official Rockstar products?

No. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive own Grand Theft Auto, and neither makes, approves or sells these pads. They are original Padrift designs, inspired by the series' cities and printed to order.
