About The Last of Us Mouse Pads

The Last of Us mouse pads for the desk

Our Last of Us mouse pads and desk mats are Padrift designs inspired by Naughty Dog's games, with the artwork printed sharply over the whole face of a 3 mm neoprene pad. The fabric top gives the mouse a smooth surface, the non-slip base keeps the pad where you put it, and stitching around the edge stops it from fraying. Eight desk sizes run from 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) to 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm); a design's product page shows which of them you can order it in. The print resists fading, and each pad is made for its order rather than in advance.

The Last of Us came out on the PlayStation 3 in June 2013. Twenty years after a fungal outbreak has emptied America's cities, a smuggler named Joel is asked to escort Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl who may be the key to a cure, from Boston across the country. The Last of Us Part II followed in 2020 and moved the story to Jackson, Wyoming, and Seattle. Both games put their characters first, but their ruined world is also strikingly beautiful, and that beauty is where the desk designs come from.

A quiet kind of ending

For a story set after the end of the world, The Last of Us is full of calm. Sunlight falls through broken roofs, vines climb skyscrapers, deer walk down empty highways and moss covers abandoned cars. The games spend a lot of time on that slow reclaiming of cities by nature, and it is the part of their look that suits a desk you sit at every day. Designs built on overgrown streets, empty houses and open landscapes keep the infected and the fighting on the screen and bring the stillness to your desk instead.

Four seasons, four desks

The first game is divided into seasons, and each one has its own palette.

  • Summer: Boston, Bill's town and Pittsburgh in green, gold and humid haze. Easy on a wooden desk with plants.
  • Fall: Tommy's dam in Wyoming and a university campus in Colorado, all orange leaves and brown brick. Warm, for walnut and amber light.
  • Winter: a snowbound lakeside resort under a white sky. The lightest choice, for a white desk.
  • Spring: Salt Lake City in fresh green, with soft light over the ruins. Gentle and bright.

If someone has a favorite chapter, its season is an easier starting point than any single scene.

Green for a desk with plants

An overgrown city is one of the rare gaming designs that looks at home next to real plants. Ferns spilling out of a window, ivy on a brick wall and grass pushing through cracked asphalt pick up the green of a pothos on your shelf and the wood of a plain desk. These designs are busy with leaves at the edges and open in the middle, so a keyboard sits on a patch of road or water without hiding the interesting parts. They suit daylight and a warm-white lamp better than heavy RGB.

The moth and the fern

In Part II, Ellie has a tattoo on her forearm: a moth spreading its wings over fern leaves, drawn in fine black lines and placed to cover the scar of her bite. It is one of the most personal images in the series, and its line-art style makes it easy to print cleanly at any size. On a long mat, the moth works at the mouse end, where your own forearm rests beside it. On the small 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, a single moth and a sprig of fern in the upper half, black on cream, looks like a botanical sketch.

Fireflies across a dark mat

The Fireflies are the resistance group searching for a cure, and their symbol is the insect they are named after. Their pendants, small metal tags each carrying a name, turn up throughout the first game, along with their slogan about looking for the light when you're lost in the dark. As a design, fireflies become a pattern of small warm points scattered across a deep blue or black ground, like a summer night at the edge of a field. It suits a dark desk with warm lighting, and it reads as a night scene to anyone who doesn't know the story.

Giraffes in Salt Lake City

Near the end of the first game, Ellie climbs onto a ledge in Salt Lake City and finds a herd of giraffes walking through the ruins, and for a moment the journey stops. It is one of the gentlest scenes in the series. Giraffes are tall, so this design needs depth: the XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), lets their necks rise behind the keyboard toward the monitor, with the city soft and green in the background. It suits a light desk and makes a calm, hopeful pad for an office or a shared room.

Ellie's journal for a study desk

Ellie keeps a journal through Part II, filled with pencil sketches of the places she passes, notes, scraps of song lyrics and little drawings of the people around her. A design laid out like its pages, lined paper, pencil smudges, a sketch of a guitar or a dinosaur in the margin, is a natural fit for a study desk. It looks like a notebook spread open under your keyboard, it stays readable when half of it is covered, and its palette of cream paper and graphite gray works with any desk color.

Workbenches and a scavenged desk

Joel and Ellie improve their gear at workbenches scattered through the ruins, using parts and scrap they find along the way, and craft supplies from rags, tape and whatever else they can carry. A workbench is a desk with a job to do, which makes it a fitting idea for a desk mat: worn wood, a vise, a few tools, a roll of tape and a backpack set to one side. Your own keyboard and mouse become the next project on the bench. It suits a wooden desk and anyone who builds or repairs things at their setup.

A guitar at full length

Music runs through the series. In Part II, Joel plays guitar for Ellie and gives her one of her own, and later she plays a-ha's Take On Me for Dina in an abandoned music store in Seattle. An acoustic guitar is roughly 40 inches long, which makes it one of the few subjects that can be printed close to life size on a desk mat. The 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), holds a full guitar along its length, and the 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), comes close. On smaller mats, the neck and headstock along the back edge carry the idea.

Small things on a small pad

Some of the strongest designs are objects rather than scenes. Joel's wristwatch, a birthday gift from his daughter Sarah, stays cracked on his wrist for twenty years. A Firefly pendant on its chain, a single moth or a worn comic book cover all fit the S size on their own. Choose one object, give it a plain background in a color that matches your desk, and place it toward the top so your hand moves the mouse below it.

Seattle in the rain

Part II spends most of its time in Seattle, where streets are flooded, downtown towers are wrapped in green and rain hardly stops. Its palette is cooler than the first game's: blue-gray water, wet concrete, dark evergreens and the soft light of an overcast sky. That suits a gray or black desk with cool white lighting. Jackson, where Part II begins, adds snow, timber cabins and wide mountain views, a lighter and warmer choice for a wooden desk.

On a PC desk

The Last of Us Part I, the 2022 remake, reached PC in 2023, and Part II Remastered followed in April 2025. Both play with mouse and keyboard as well as a controller, and they reward patience: crouching, listening, lining up a careful shot. A fabric top keeps slow mouse movements smooth, and the non-slip base keeps the mat still when you need to react quickly. If you switch between mouse and controller, an XL gives the controller somewhere soft to rest beside the keyboard.

From the game to HBO

HBO's series, created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, premiered in 2023 with Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and its second season arrived in 2025. Gustavo Santaolalla, who composed the music for both games, also scored the show alongside David Fleming. If you came to the story through the series, a landscape design without game characters, such as an overgrown street or the dam at Jackson, ties the two together on a desk where you watch as well as play.

Sizes for the road west

Sizes differ from design to design, so the product page is where to confirm what you can order. These are the ones that suit The Last of Us.

L, at 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), keeps a long city skyline shallow enough for a narrow desk, while 3XL, at 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), gives a landscape more sky than XL can.

Gifts for Outbreak Day

Naughty Dog marks September 26, the day the outbreak begins in the game, as Outbreak Day, and it makes a natural date for a Last of Us gift. Allow 1–3 business days for printing and then about 2–5 business days for the parcel to travel from Turkey to a US address. A pad suits someone who has played both parts more than once, someone who found the story through the show, or someone who still talks about the giraffes. If their desk size is a mystery, choose an XL, which fits a keyboard and mouse with space to spare on nearly every desk.

Care after a long journey

Green and sunlit designs show wrist marks over time, and dark firefly designs show dust. Wipe either with a damp cloth every week or so. For a deeper clean, wash the pad by hand in lukewarm water with a gentle soap, rinse, press it dry inside a towel and leave it flat until it's completely dry. It shouldn't go in a washing machine or a dryer, and it never needs an iron.

FAQ

Questions about The Last of Us Mouse Pads

Which part of The Last of Us suits a warm wooden desk?

The fall chapters, with Tommy's dam and the Colorado campus in orange leaves and brown brick. Jackson's timber cabins from Part II also suit wood, while Seattle's rain and the winter resort suit cooler desks.

Can a full-size guitar fit on a Last of Us desk mat?

On the 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), yes: an acoustic guitar is roughly 40 inches long. The 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), comes close, and smaller mats show the neck along the back edge.

Which Last of Us design looks right next to real plants?

An overgrown city: ferns in windows, ivy on brick and grass through cracked roads. Its greens pick up houseplants and plain wood, and the open middle leaves room for the keyboard.

Where should Ellie's moth tattoo go on a desk mat?

At the mouse end of a long mat, beside your own forearm, or in the upper half of the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad. Fine black lines on cream keep it looking like a botanical sketch.

Is a Last of Us desk mat good for the PC versions?

Yes. Part I and Part II Remastered both play with mouse and keyboard, and the fabric top keeps slow, careful aiming smooth while the non-slip base holds the mat still when things get tense.

Is Naughty Dog behind these pads?

Naughty Dog isn't involved, and neither is Sony or HBO. These are Padrift's own unlicensed designs, drawn from the look of the games, printed in our workshop when someone orders one and sold without anyone's endorsement.
