About Monster Hunter Mouse Pads
Monster Hunter mouse pads for the desk
Our Monster Hunter mouse pads and desk mats carry art inspired by Capcom's hunting series, printed in high resolution from edge to edge on a 3 mm neoprene pad. On top is a fabric surface for the mouse; underneath is a non-slip base; around the border runs a stitched edge that won't fray. The smallest size, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm), sits under the mouse alone, the largest, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), covers the desk, and six more fill the gap, though each design's product page shows the specific sizes it is offered in. Pads are printed only after an order arrives.
Monster Hunter started on the PlayStation 2 in 2004. On PC, the modern era began when Monster Hunter: World arrived in August 2018, followed by Iceborne, Rise and Sunbreak, and in February 2025 Monster Hunter Wilds launched on PC and consoles on the same day. That has put a lot of hunters at a desk instead of on a couch, with a keyboard, a mouse and very often a controller within reach.
Long hunts and a cushioned desk
Monster Hunter is a game of long sessions. Most quests give you fifty minutes and three faints before they fail, and a good night often means back-to-back hunts for one stubborn material. Add time in the smithy and the equipment menus, and a hunter can spend hours with a hand on the mouse or a controller resting on the desk.
A cushioned neoprene mat makes those hours easier on wrists and forearms than a bare desktop. The non-slip base keeps it still through dodges and camera swings, and the stitched edges hold up to a wrist dragging across the front of the pad hunt after hunt.
Controller or mouse, by weapon
How you set up the desk depends a lot on what you hunt with. Melee weapons, from the Great Sword and Hammer to the Dual Blades and Charge Blade, play comfortably on a controller, and plenty of PC hunters use one. Ranged weapons are a different story: the Bow and the two Bowguns lean on precise aim, and that is where a mouse earns its keep.
Many hunters switch depending on the weapon they're levelling, so it pays to plan for both. An XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), fits a keyboard, a mouse and a resting controller side by side, and nothing ends up perched on the bare desk.
Bow and Bowgun mains
A ranged hunter spends a whole fight tracking a moving target: a wyvern circling overhead, a charging brute, a weak spot that appears for a second as a monster turns. With a low or medium sensitivity, that tracking takes long, smooth movements, and a small pad runs out of room at exactly the wrong moment.
For Bow and Bowgun play, XL is the comfortable minimum. XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), adds the vertical depth for aiming at flying monsters, and the fabric top keeps the glide even, so small corrections land where you meant them to.
Melee and the camera
Even on keyboard and mouse, melee players use the mouse mostly for the camera: keeping a monster in view as it leaps away, swinging around after a dodge, lining up an attack on a wound. In Wilds, Focus Mode adds another layer, letting you aim attacks at a specific part of the monster. Those big camera turns need room to the right of the keyboard, and the non-slip base needs to hold when you swing hard.
If you play melee with a mouse, an XL is still the practical choice. The M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm), works for a compact keyboard if your camera sensitivity is high.
Elements as a lighting guide
Monster Hunter sorts much of its world by element, and the elements make a simple guide to matching a monster to your lighting.
- Fire: Rathalos in red, Teostra in flame, for warm orange or red light on a black desk.
- Thunder: Zinogre, Kirin and Rey Dau, for cool blue or white light and a dark monitor.
- Ice: Velkhana from Iceborne and Jin Dahaad from Wilds, for a white desk and cool daylight.
- Water: Uth Duna from Wilds, for teal accents and blue-green lighting.
Pick the monster whose element you already have glowing behind your monitor, and the mat looks like it belongs there.
Wingspan on a long mat
The series' flying wyverns are wide. Rathalos with wings spread is far longer than it is tall, which makes it a natural fit for desk mats and an awkward fit for anything square. On an XL or 4XL, the keyboard covers the body and the wings stay visible on either side, and the head should sit at the end away from your mouse hand so the face, the most detailed part of the art, is never under your palm.
Long-tailed monsters work the same way. A Nargacuga or a Zinogre stretched along a strip gives the tail somewhere to curl at one end while the head watches from the other.
Weapons on a strip
Monster Hunter's fourteen weapon types make strong long, narrow designs. A Great Sword or a Long Sword laid along an M or L strip runs under the keyboard like a weapon rack. The Insect Glaive comes with its Kinsect, a small insect companion that suits a corner of the pad. The Charge Blade, Switch Axe and Gunlance have the mechanical detail that reads well at a larger scale, so they suit the XL and up.
Choosing the weapon you main is a quiet way to say what kind of hunter you are, and it is instantly readable to anyone else who plays.
Scoutflies and the green trail
In Monster Hunter: World, the scoutflies glow green and swarm toward tracks, guiding you through the Ancient Forest toward your target. A trail of those green lights winding across a dark mat is a quiet motif that stays with you. It suits a black desk with green accent lighting, it leaves wide lanes for the keyboard and mouse, and it looks like abstract fireflies to anyone who hasn't played.
Locales as palettes
Every hunting ground has its own colors. In World, the Ancient Forest is deep green and tangled, the Wildspire Waste is sand and dry rock, the Coral Highlands are pastel pinks and blues, the Rotten Vale is bone and murk, and the Elder's Recess is dark stone with glowing crystals. Wilds adds the Windward Plains, the Scarlet Forest, the Oilwell Basin and the Iceshard Cliffs.
Match the locale to the desk: the Coral Highlands to pastel peripherals, the Ancient Forest to wood and plants, the Elder's Recess to a dark setup with purple or blue lighting, and the Iceshard Cliffs to a white desk.
Wilds and changing weather
Monster Hunter Wilds gives each region of the Forbidden Lands shifting conditions: a quiet Fallow, a violent Inclemency and a lush Plenty. The same plain can look barren and dusty one hour and green and alive the next. That gives designers two or three moods from one place, and it gives you a way to match a scene to your room: a stormy Inclemency sky for a dark setup, a Plenty landscape for a sunny desk. The Seikret, the bird-like mount you ride across those regions, suits the long strip sizes at full stride.
Palicos and Palamutes for small pads
On the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, a companion works better than a monster, because a whole wyvern shrinks too far to read. A Palico in its little armor, sitting in the top corner, stays clear even with a palm close by. Rise's Palamute, the hunting dog you ride, is the other option, and a Palico and Palamute together suit the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size beside a laptop.
Rise and Kamura
Monster Hunter Rise, from 2021, is set around Kamura Village, with lanterns, shrines and cherry trees drawn from Japanese folklore. Its flagship, Magnamalo, burns with purple flames, and its art leans toward ink-wash skies and deep reds and golds. A Rise-inspired design suits a minimalist desk, a black-and-red setup or a room with Japanese prints, and Magnamalo's purple fire suits a desk lit in violet.
Hunting parties and matching pads
Hunts are built for four players, and many hunters keep the same group for years, firing SOS flares and joining each other's quests. Matching pads give a group playing in the same room a setup that looks deliberate, and they keep everyone on the same surface. The pads roll up for travel and lie flat again within a few hours of unrolling, so they can come along to a weekend hunting session at a friend's place.
Sizes for Monster Hunter desks
The sizes on offer for each design are on its product page. Here is how they suit Monster Hunter art and play.
| Setup | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse only | S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) | A Palico in its armor |
| Laptop desk | TCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) | A Palico and Palamute side by side |
| Compact keyboard | M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm) | A Great Sword or a Long Sword |
| Keyboard, mouse and controller | XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) | Rathalos with wings spread |
| Ranged hunter | XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm) | Depth for aiming at flying monsters |
| The whole desk | 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) | A full hunting ground with its monster |
Two sizes fill the gaps: the L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), for a longer weapon strip, and the 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), for wide desks that need extra aiming room but can't fit the depth of an XXL.
Gifts for a hunter
A Monster Hunter pad suits someone with a thousand hours in World, a Rise player moving to PC or a friend who just picked up Wilds. Choose by their weapon or their favorite monster if you know it; if not, a Palico is a safe bet across every game. With an unknown desk, the XL is the size that fits almost anywhere.
Every pad is printed and finished in 1–3 business days, then shipped out of Turkey; in the US it usually takes 2–5 business days more to arrive.
Cleaning between hunts
Long hunts leave skin oil along the wrist line and the odd snack crumb in the corners. A damp cloth every week keeps the surface clean, and spills come up more easily if you blot them straight away. For a deeper clean, hand wash the pad in lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse, press it dry inside a towel and leave it flat until the neoprene is fully dry. No washing machine, no dryer and no iron; the fade-resistant print keeps Rathalos red and Zinogre blue.

FAQ
Questions about Monster Hunter Mouse Pads
Does a desk mat help if I hunt with a controller on PC?
Yes. It gives the controller a cushioned, grippy place to rest between hunts, and an XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), keeps a keyboard, mouse and controller together for players who switch by weapon.
Which pad size suits Bow or Bowgun mains?
XL is the comfortable minimum for tracking moving monsters with a low or medium sensitivity. XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), adds the vertical depth for aiming at wyverns in the air.
Which monster's colors go with blue lighting?
Thunder monsters: Zinogre, Kirin and Rey Dau. For a white desk in cool daylight, the ice dragons Velkhana and Jin Dahaad fit better, and Uth Duna suits teal or blue-green light.
Will Rathalos fit across a long desk mat?
Yes. With wings spread it is far wider than it is tall, so the keyboard covers the body and the wings show on both sides. Put the head at the end away from your mouse hand so it is never under your palm.
What fits on a small Monster Hunter pad?
A companion rather than a monster. A Palico in its armor stays clear on the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, while a full wyvern shrinks too far to read at that size.
Are these official Capcom products?
No. Capcom, which owns Monster Hunter, had no part in making or approving them. Each is an original Padrift design drawn from the series' monsters and hunting grounds, printed only when it's ordered.
