About Hollow Knight Mouse Pads

Hollow Knight mouse pads for the desk

Our Hollow Knight mouse pads and desk mats carry art inspired by Team Cherry's ruined kingdom of bugs, printed edge to edge on a 3 mm neoprene pad with a fabric top, a non-slip base and stitched edges. You can choose from eight sizes, the smallest 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) and the largest 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), and every one is printed only once you order it.

Hollow Knight came out in February 2017, made by a small studio in Adelaide, Australia, and its hand-drawn look still holds up. Soft ink lines, deep blues and blacks, and one small white mask in the middle of it all: the art is quiet, moody and easy to live with on a desk you look at every day.

Hallownest in ink and shadow

Most of Hollow Knight takes place underground, so the game is drawn in shades of darkness: blue-black caverns, gray stone and pools of faint light. Against that, the Knight's white horned mask is the brightest thing on screen, and it stays the brightest thing on a desk mat too. Even when a keyboard covers half the scene, that small white shape gives the eye somewhere to land.

The muted palette is also kind to a setup. A Hollow Knight pad sits comfortably next to black peripherals and a dark monitor without the loud contrast of most gaming art, and it doesn't fight with RGB: soft blue or white lighting simply deepens the caverns.

Areas as palettes

Each region of Hallownest has its own color, which makes it easy to match a design to a desk.

  • City of Tears: deep blue, endless rain and lamplight, for dark setups with cool white or blue lighting.
  • Greenpath and Queen's Gardens: moss, leaves and teal water, for wooden desks and plants.
  • Crystal Peak: glowing pink crystals in dark rock, for pastel peripherals or pink RGB.
  • Fungal Wastes: orange and amber, a warm choice for walnut desks and warm-white bulbs.
  • Deepnest: near-black tunnels and webs, for an all-black setup.
  • Kingdom's Edge and the White Palace: pale ash, white stone and gold, the lightest corners of the game, for white desks.

Bugs for the small pads

On the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, your hand covers much of the surface, so one character placed toward the top works better than a scene. Hollow Knight's cast is made for that: the Knight with its nail, Hornet in her red cloak, Quirrel in his mask, the troupe master Grimm in red and black, the cheerfully useless Zote, or the golden light of the Radiance. Each is a clear silhouette that reads from a corner of the desk.

A single character also suits a side desk or a laptop setup, where a full cavern scene would feel crowded and a small, quiet bug in the corner says enough.

A desk mat for a keyboard game

Hollow Knight barely uses a mouse. On PC you play it with the keyboard or a controller, and the mouse only comes out for menus. That changes what a desk mat is for. Here it is mostly a keyboard mat: the non-slip base keeps the board from creeping across the desk during frantic inputs, and the cushioned neoprene gives your wrists a softer surface through long boss attempts.

Those attempts can be very long. Steel Soul mode, where a single death ends the save, and the Pantheons of Godhome, which chain boss after boss, are the kind of challenge that keeps you at the desk for hours. If you play with a controller, a desk mat gives it a soft place to rest between runs, and an XL mat has room for a keyboard and a controller side by side.

When the same desk hosts games that do use the mouse, the fabric top gives an even, controlled glide, and the pad works like any other gaming pad.

Silksong and Pharloom

Hollow Knight: Silksong, announced in 2019 and released in September 2025, moves the story to Pharloom, a new kingdom of silk and song, with Hornet as the playable hero. Hornet's red cloak and needle give the sequel a warmer accent than the blues of Hallownest, and red against dark stone is a strong combination on a desk mat.

If you followed the long wait for Silksong, a design that leans on Hornet's red suits a desk with red accents or warm lighting, while classic Hallownest blues stay the better match for a cool, dark setup.

Maps, benches and Cornifer

Exploring Hallownest means mapping it. You buy rough maps of each area from Cornifer, the humming cartographer, then fill in the details yourself with a quill each time you rest on a bench. A map design on a desk mat turns that habit into something you can see every day: winding tunnels, area names and the spaces you remember getting lost in.

A map has a lot of fine detail, so it needs room. Choose XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), or larger, where tunnels and labels stay readable around a keyboard.

Dirtmouth and the way down

Every journey into Hallownest starts in Dirtmouth, the nearly empty town on the surface, with Elderbug waiting by the road, a few lit windows and the well that leads into the dark. It is one of the calmest scenes in the game, rain and lamplight above a world of caverns, and on a desk mat it has the quiet, slightly melancholy mood that suits a work or study desk as well as a gaming one.

Bosses with a silhouette

Hollow Knight's bosses are designed to be read in a split second, which also makes them good desk art. The three Mantis Lords, who bow to you when they are beaten, the floating Soul Master, the dancing Nightmare King Grimm and the chained figure of the Hollow Knight itself all have outlines you recognize from across a room. A boss design sits well on the M or L size, a long strip where the figure can stand at one end and the arena stretches out beside the keyboard.

Charms on a small pad

Charms are Hollow Knight's equipment: small badges found across Hallownest and fitted into a limited number of notches, from Quick Slash and Shaman Stone to the Grimmchild. Their icons are tiny, flat graphics with clear shapes, and a charm-themed layout reads like a collection laid out on the desk. It suits the S or the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size, where each badge stays large enough to recognize, and it pairs with any palette because the icons sit on a plain dark ground.

Music for a quiet desk

Christopher Larkin's soundtrack, mostly strings and piano, is a large part of why Hallownest feels the way it does, and plenty of people keep it playing while they work or study. A Hollow Knight pad suits that kind of desk: a soft blue scene under a laptop, the City of Tears theme in your headphones and nothing loud competing for attention. It is a gaming design that doesn't look out of place on a video call.

Gifts for a Hallownest fan

A Hollow Knight pad suits someone who has cleared the Pantheons, someone who waited six years for Silksong or someone who has just started and keeps getting lost in the Crossroads. Pick by the area or character they talk about, or choose a classic blue-and-black scene if you're not sure. If you can't check the desk first, XL leaves room for a keyboard and mouse on almost any of them.

Each pad is printed for its order in 1–3 business days, then shipped from Turkey, with US delivery usually taking 2–5 business days.

Keeping a dark pad clean

Dark Hallownest designs hide skin oil well, but dust and hair stand out against deep blue and black. A lint roller or a damp cloth once a week keeps the surface clear. For a deeper clean, hand wash the pad in lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse it, press the water out with a towel and dry it flat. Skip the washing machine, the dryer and the iron, and the fade-resistant print keeps the white of the Knight's mask crisp.

FAQ

Questions about Hollow Knight Mouse Pads

Is a desk mat useful for Hollow Knight if I play on keyboard?

Yes. Hollow Knight barely uses the mouse, but a desk mat keeps the keyboard from sliding during frantic inputs and gives your wrists a cushioned surface through long boss attempts.

Which Hollow Knight design suits a dark desk?

Most of them, since Hallownest is drawn in deep blues and blacks with the Knight's white mask as the bright point. City of Tears blues and the near-black of Deepnest suit a black setup best.

Which Hollow Knight area suits a white desk?

The White Palace and the pale ash of Kingdom's Edge, the lightest places in the game. Crystal Peak's pink suits pastel setups, and Greenpath's moss suits a wooden desk with plants.

What size Hollow Knight pad works under just the mouse?

S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm). A single figure such as the Knight or Hornet in her red cloak reads best at that size, placed toward the top so your hand doesn't cover it.

Will a Hollow Knight desk mat fit a keyboard and a controller?

Yes. On XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), a full keyboard and a resting controller fit side by side, and XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), adds depth behind them.

Are these official Team Cherry products?

No. Team Cherry hasn't made or approved them. They are designs by Padrift that draw on Hallownest and its characters, printed to order on our own 3 mm neoprene pads.
