About God of War Mouse Pads
God of War mouse pads for the desk
Our God of War mouse pads and desk mats are Padrift designs inspired by Santa Monica Studio's series, printed edge to edge in high resolution on 3 mm neoprene. A fabric top takes the mouse, a non-slip base holds the desk and a stitched border keeps the edges from fraying, while the fade-resistant print stays sharp through daily use. Eight desk sizes cover everything from an 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) mouse pad to a 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) mat, with each design's product page setting out the sizes you can order it in. We print every pad once the order comes in.
The first God of War arrived on the PlayStation 2 in 2005. Kratos, a Spartan warrior bound to serve the gods of Olympus, fought his way through Greek myth across several games, the last of them Ascension in 2013. In 2018, the series started over in the north: an older, quieter Kratos lives in Midgard with his young son, Atreus, and sets out to carry his late wife Faye's ashes to the highest peak in the realms. God of War Ragnarök followed in 2022, and the free Valhalla add-on in 2023. The two eras look completely different, which gives a desk mat two very different moods to choose from.
Frost or fire for your lighting
Kratos's two signature weapons carry two elements. The Leviathan Axe of the Norse games is wrapped in frost, pale blue and white, and the Blades of Chaos burn orange and gold. That split is the simplest way to choose a God of War design for a desk. A frost design suits cool white or blue lighting, a gray or white desk and silver peripherals. A fire design suits warm amber lighting, a dark wood desk and black hardware. If your keyboard lighting can switch between the two, a design that carries both, frost at one end and flame at the other, lets you change the mood of the whole desk with one setting.
The Leviathan Axe at the mouse end
The Leviathan Axe was forged by the dwarf brothers Brok and Sindri for Faye, and its blade is etched with runes and rimed with ice. Kratos throws it and calls it back to his hand, a motion that feels a little like lifting the mouse and setting it down again. The axe head is a strong, compact shape for the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, placed in the upper half with frost spreading outward across a dark ground. On a long mat, put it at the mouse end, so the blade and its frost sit beside your hand and the keyboard rests over a plain field of snow.
Chains around the edges
The Blades of Chaos are twin blades on long chains bound to Kratos's forearms, and those chains suggest a very different layout from a single weapon. On an XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), the chains can run around the border of the mat like a frame, glowing orange links looping along the edges with a blade resting in two opposite corners. The center stays dark and open for the keyboard and mouse, and the fire stays in view all the way around them. It is a design for a black setup that likes a little heat.
Carved runes along the border
The Norse games are covered in runic writing, carved into shrines, doors, weapons and the stone walls the giants left behind. A row of runes is an ideal border for a desk mat: it reads as ornament from a distance, it stays complete even when the keyboard covers part of it, and it suits the long, shallow shapes of the M and L sizes. Pale runes carved into gray stone fit a modern desk, while gold runes on dark wood fit a warmer one. Norse knotwork in the corners finishes the frame.
Warm realms and cold realms
Ragnarök finally lets Kratos and Atreus visit all Nine Realms, and they split cleanly by temperature. On the cold side are Midgard under endless winter, frozen Helheim in gray and icy blue, and Niflheim's poisonous mist. On the warm side are Muspelheim's rivers of fire, the golden walls of Asgard and Alfheim's bright realm of light. Vanaheim's jungle and Svartalfheim's dwarven mines and workshops sit in between, green and bronze. Choose a realm by the color temperature of your room: cold realms for daylight and white bulbs, warm realms for an evening setup with amber lamps.
The Lake of Nine and the World Serpent
At the center of Midgard lies the Lake of Nine, a vast body of water you cross by boat, and in it lives Jörmungandr, the World Serpent, a creature that in the old myths grows large enough to circle the world. The serpent gives a long desk mat a natural shape. Its coils can rise and dip along the length of a 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), with the head at one end and the tail at the other, and the keyboard sits in the water between two loops. Blue-gray water and green scales stay calm enough for a work desk.
Yggdrasil across a long mat
Every realm in the Norse games hangs from Yggdrasil, the World Tree, and Kratos travels between them along its glowing branches. A tree that connects everything is a fine subject for a mat that holds everything on your desk. Let the trunk rise at the left end and the branches spread across the full length, with small realm symbols at the tips, and the keyboard and mouse sit among the boughs. The tree's soft gold glow on a deep blue or black ground suits a dark desk without needing any RGB at all.
Greek gold and the Greek key
The Greek saga has a different look: marble temples, bronze armor, red capes, the golden heights of Olympus and the ocean of the Aegean. Its palette of white, gold and deep red suits a bright desk with brass or gold accents. The Greek key, the interlocking meander border found on ancient pottery and temples, works around the edges of a mat in the same way runes do for the Norse games. Pandora's Box, the goal of the first game, is a single ornate object made for the small pad.
Kratos in red and ash
Kratos can be recognized from a few simple marks: skin left pale as ash, a red tattoo that runs from his scalp over one eye and down his body, and, in the Norse games, a thick beard. A design can reduce him to almost nothing and still be clear. A single red stripe over a pale gray field, or his profile in shadow with only the tattoo picked out, makes a striking minimal pad that suits a gray or white setup and works in an office where a full battle scene wouldn't.
Stories on the lake
Some of the warmest moments in the Norse games happen on the boat. Mimir, the wise and talkative head that Kratos carries on his belt, tells stories of the gods as you row across the lake, and Atreus reads runes, draws his bow and asks questions his father doesn't always want to answer. The dwarves Brok and Sindri, the blue-skinned smith and his fussy brother, run shops all over the realms. A quiet scene of the boat on still water, with a lantern at the bow, is a gentle design for a study desk or a shared room.
One unbroken camera shot
God of War 2018 is presented as a single continuous shot: the camera never cuts away from Kratos from the first scene to the last, and Ragnarök kept the same approach. That idea of an unbroken view suits panoramic desk mats, where a landscape runs from one end to the other without a frame or a break. A wide view across the Lake of Nine, or a mountain path climbing toward the summit, gives a long mat the same sense of a journey with no cuts.
From the PS2 to a PC desk
For most of its history God of War was a PlayStation series, but the 2018 game came to PC in January 2022 and Ragnarök followed in September 2024. On PC both play with mouse and keyboard or a controller. With a mouse, you aim the axe throw and steer the over-the-shoulder camera, which benefits from the fabric top's even glide, and the non-slip base keeps the mat steady during hectic fights. If you play with a controller, an XL gives it a soft place beside the keyboard between sessions.
Sizes for the Nine Realms
Every design's product page lists its sizes; not all of them come in all eight. These are the ones that suit God of War art.
| Setup | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse only | S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) | The Leviathan Axe head or Pandora's Box |
| Laptop desk | TCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) | Kratos's tattoo as a minimal stripe |
| Compact keyboard | M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm) | A border of carved runes |
| Keyboard and controller | XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) | The Blades of Chaos chained around the edges |
| Deep desk | XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm) | A mountain path climbing toward the monitor |
| The whole desk | 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) | The World Serpent coiling through the lake |
A desk that is long and narrow suits the L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), and the 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), gives Yggdrasil's branches a little more height than XL without covering the full desk.
Gifts for a Spartan
A God of War pad suits someone who played the Greek games on the PlayStation 2, someone who started with the 2018 reboot, or someone who has finished Valhalla more than once. The Leviathan Axe is the safe pick if you don't know which era they prefer, and a rune border is the subtle one for a work desk. If you can't see their desk first, an XL is the size that fits a keyboard and mouse on almost any of them.
April 20, the day the 2018 game launched, and November 9, Ragnarök's release date, are both good dates to aim for. Each pad takes 1–3 business days to print and finish before it ships from Turkey, and it usually reaches US addresses 2–5 business days after that.
Cleaning off the frost
Pale frost and snow designs show wrist marks sooner than dark fire designs, which tend to show dust. A wipe with a damp cloth each week handles most of it. When the pad needs a real clean, wash it by hand in lukewarm water with a bit of mild soap, rinse it well, press the water out with a towel and let it dry lying flat. Don't machine wash it, don't tumble dry it and don't iron it.
A note on names

FAQ
Questions about God of War Mouse Pads
Which God of War design matches blue lighting?
Anything built on frost: the Leviathan Axe, Midgard in winter or icy Helheim. Their pale blues and whites pick up cool keyboard lighting and suit a gray or white desk.
Which God of War design matches warm amber lighting?
The Blades of Chaos in orange and gold, Muspelheim's rivers of fire, or the white-and-gold temples of the Greek saga. They suit dark wood, black hardware and warm bulbs.
Can the World Serpent wrap around a keyboard?
On a long mat, yes. The 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), gives Jörmungandr's coils room to rise and dip from end to end, with the keyboard resting in the water between two loops.
Does a God of War desk mat help on the PC ports?
Yes. Both Norse games play with mouse and keyboard on PC, and aiming the axe throw benefits from the fabric top's even glide. The non-slip base keeps the mat steady in a hectic fight.
What God of War symbol fits a mouse-only pad?
The head of the Leviathan Axe with frost around it, Pandora's Box, or a single carved rune. Keep it in the upper half of the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, clear of your hand.
Is Santa Monica Studio involved with these pads?
Not in any way. God of War belongs to Sony Interactive Entertainment and is made by Santa Monica Studio, while these pads are Padrift's own work, unlicensed and inspired by the games' look, printed for each order.
