About Tanjiro Mouse Pads
Tanjiro mouse pads for the desk
On this page are Tanjiro mouse pads and desk mats with original art based on Tanjiro Kamado, the hero of Demon Slayer. Each is printed edge to edge on 3 mm neoprene, then finished with a fabric top, a non-slip base and stitched edges. Eight sizes span the range, starting at 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) and stopping at 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), and no pad is made until someone orders it.
This page sits under Demon Slayer and holds the designs built around Tanjiro. Zenitsu, Inosuke, the Hashira, the demons and the story's arcs are on the Demon Slayer page, while Nezuko and Shinobu each have a page of their own.
A charcoal seller's son
Tanjiro grows up in the mountains, the eldest son of a family that makes and sells charcoal. One winter day he walks down to town to sell it, stays the night away from home and comes back to find his family killed by a demon. Only his younger sister Nezuko survives, and she has been turned into a demon herself. Everything that follows, the training, the Corps and the long road to Muzan, starts in that snow.
Designs from those opening scenes are quiet and almost monochrome: white snow, black tree trunks, a boy with a basket on his back and a thin line of smoke from a cottage. They suit a calm work or study desk, a white or light wood surface and anyone who wants Tanjiro's story without a sword in sight.
The checkered haori under a keyboard
Tanjiro wears a haori in a green-and-black checkerboard, the ichimatsu pattern, over the black uniform of the Corps. It is the single most recognizable part of his look, and it is also one of the easiest designs to live with on a desk. A check pattern is a grid, and a keyboard is a grid too: lay a checkered mat square to the edge of the desk, set the keyboard on it, and the lines of keys and squares fall into step.
The green is deep, close to bottle green, so it sits comfortably with black peripherals, wood and brass. Under green RGB it glows; under warm white light it looks like fabric. If you want a Tanjiro mat that strangers read simply as a nice pattern, this is the one.
Water Breathing in the old style
Tanjiro's first sword style is Water Breathing, taught to him by Sakonji Urokodaki, and ufotable animates each form as a surge of water drawn in the manner of Japanese woodblock prints: curling crests, foam in neat white claws and deep blue troughs. Those waves are some of the most beautiful images in the anime.
A Water Breathing design suits a long strip. A wave rolling along an M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm), or an L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), keeps its shape around a keyboard, because the crests at each end tell you what the water does in the middle. The blues pair with cool white or blue lighting and a black or white keyboard alike.
The fire dance
Tanjiro's father, though frail, danced the Hinokami Kagura every New Year: a ritual to the fire god, performed through the night in the snow. Tanjiro learns that the dance is more than a dance, and its breathing becomes his own. In the anime, those strikes come wrapped in bright flame instead of water.
Water and fire give a Tanjiro desk mat its strongest idea: blue waves at one end, red and gold flames at the other, with the keyboard where they meet. That split works on an XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), and it lets you change the mood of the desk with lighting alone, cool on one side, warm on the other.
The hanafuda earrings
Tanjiro wears a pair of earrings passed down from his father, painted like hanafuda cards: a red sun rising over a field of lines. They are small, but they matter to the story more than almost any other object, and they make a neat emblem.
On the small 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad, a single earring in the upper half is a quiet, meaningful design that reads as a traditional Japanese motif to people who haven't seen the show. It suits a laptop setup, an office desk or anywhere a full portrait would feel like too much.
Training under Urokodaki
Tanjiro's teacher wears a red tengu mask with a long nose, and he carves a fox mask for each student to protect them from evil. Tanjiro trains on a mountain for two years and passes his last test by cutting through a boulder taller than he is, with help from two mysterious young students, Sabito and Makomo, who wear fox masks of their own.
The masks give this part of the story its clearest designs. A red tengu mask or a white fox mask with red markings on a dark ground works as a single symbol, and a split boulder with a sword line through it is a minimal graphic for a long strip. These designs are calm and a little mysterious, a good fit for a study desk.
The scar on his forehead
Tanjiro has a scar on his forehead from protecting one of his younger brothers in an accident at home. As he grows stronger, it changes shape, darkening into a flame-like mark that signals a new level of power.
A close portrait with the scar and the mark in clear view suits the TCG Mat size, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm), beside a laptop. Put Tanjiro's face toward the top of the pad and slightly off center, so your notebook or wrist doesn't sit on it.
The box on his back
Through most of the story, Tanjiro carries Nezuko in a wooden box strapped to his back, which shields her from the sun while they travel. It is an image of devotion more than of fighting: a boy walking roads and mountain paths with his sister always behind him.
A design of Tanjiro walking with the box suits a long mat, with him at one end heading toward the other, so the keyboard sits along the road ahead. Nezuko's own designs, from the bamboo muzzle to her pink kimono, are on her page.
The black blade and the flame guard
When Tanjiro's Nichirin sword is first drawn, the blade turns black, a rare color no one in the Corps can fully explain. Later, in the Swordsmith Village, his sword is fitted with Rengoku's flame-shaped guard, a gift from Rengoku's younger brother.
A sword is long and straight, which suits the long strips. A black blade running the width of an L, with the guard at the mouse end, frames the keyboard from above. It is the most graphic Tanjiro design and works best on a black or dark gray desk.
Kindness as a mood
What sets Tanjiro apart from many shōnen heroes is his kindness. He feels pity for demons as they die, remembers that they were human once and sometimes holds their hand as they fade. He also has an unusually keen sense of smell and a famously hard head, which he uses as a weapon more than once.
That gentleness gives Tanjiro art a softer side than the battle scenes. A smiling Tanjiro in daylight, a quiet moment under a tree or a scene with his family before the snow suits a younger fan's desk, a bright room or a shared computer where fights would feel out of place.
Following a scent
Tanjiro's sharpest sense is smell. He can smell a demon before he sees it, tell when someone is lying and follow a trail through a forest at night. It is an unusual power to draw, and the anime often shows it as a faint thread or haze drifting through the air toward its source.
That thread makes a quietly clever design: a single fine line wandering across a dark mat, from Tanjiro at one end to a hint of danger at the other, passing under the keyboard on the way. It suits a minimal setup where a full battle scene would be too much.
Three on a desk mat
Tanjiro rarely travels alone for long. With Zenitsu and Inosuke beside him, the three make a recognizable trio of colors: green and black, yellow and white, and Inosuke's bare skin under a boar mask. On an XL or larger, stand Tanjiro at the end you see most, usually the left for a right-handed player, so the keyboard covers the gap between friends rather than his face.
Tanjiro under the mouse
A Tanjiro pad is a regular pad underneath the art: the fabric top tracks smoothly at any sensitivity, the non-slip base keeps the mat in place during fast movements, and the stitched edges hold up where your wrist rests every day. For a study desk, the checkered haori or a Water Breathing wave stays calm under a laptop, and the soft neoprene makes a comfortable surface for writing notes.
Sizes for a Tanjiro desk
A design's product page tells you which of these sizes it comes in. Here are the sizes that fit Tanjiro designs.
| Setup | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse only | S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) | A hanafuda earring or a fox mask |
| Laptop or notes | TCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) | A portrait with the scar in view |
| Compact keyboard | M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm) | A woodblock wave end to end |
| Keyboard and mouse | XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) | Water at one end, fire at the other |
| Deep desk | XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm) | The checkered haori as a full pattern |
| Whole desk | 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) | The snowy mountain road |
Between those steps sit L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), for a long strip on a shallow desk, and 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), a little deeper and wider than XL.
Gifts for a Tanjiro fan
A Tanjiro pad suits someone who cosplays the haori, someone who has followed the anime from the first snowy episode to the Infinity Castle films, or someone who loves Japanese patterns and will treat the check as a design first. The haori and the earrings are the safest picks. For a desk you can't check first, XL is the size that rarely goes wrong.
Count 1–3 business days for production. The pad then goes out from Turkey and usually takes 2–5 business days more to reach a US address.
Keeping green and black crisp
The checkered designs are mostly dark, which hides wear but shows lint. A lint roller or a damp cloth every week keeps the squares sharp. When the pad needs a real wash, do it by hand in lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse, press a towel over it to soak up the water and let it dry lying flat. Washing machines, dryers and irons all do it harm; looked after by hand, the fade-resistant print keeps the green deep.

FAQ
Questions about Tanjiro Mouse Pads
Does a checkered Tanjiro mat look right with a keyboard on it?
Yes. The checks are a grid, like the keyboard, so if you lay the mat square to the desk edge, keys and squares line up. The pattern also repeats, so the part under the keyboard isn't missed.
Which Tanjiro design suits a calm study desk?
The snowy opening scenes, a Water Breathing wave or a single hanafuda earring. All three are quiet in color and stay in the background under a laptop and notes.
Can one mat show both Water Breathing and the fire dance?
On an XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), a split design can put blue waves at one end and red and gold flames at the other, with the keyboard where they meet.
What size suits a Tanjiro sword design?
A long strip. A black blade fits the L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), from end to end, with the flame guard at the mouse end and the keyboard sitting just below it.
Where are Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke?
Nezuko has a page of her own, and so does Shinobu, the Insect Hashira; both sit under Demon Slayer. Zenitsu and Inosuke are on the main Demon Slayer page, together with Rengoku, Muzan and every arc.
Which Tanjiro design works for someone who hasn't seen the show?
The checkered haori or a hanafuda earring. Both read as traditional Japanese patterns on their own, so the pad looks good to anyone and means more to people who know Tanjiro.
Are these official Tanjiro mouse pads?
Not official, and not licensed by Koyoharu Gotouge, Shueisha, Aniplex or ufotable. Each pad carries an original Padrift design inspired by Tanjiro and is printed when you order it.
