About Yusuke Urameshi Mouse Pads
Yusuke Urameshi mouse pads for the desk
Here you'll find Padrift's Yusuke Urameshi mouse pads and desk mats, original designs inspired by the delinquent turned Spirit Detective of Yu Yu Hakusho, printed edge to edge on 3 mm neoprene with a fabric top, a non-slip base and stitched edges. Pick a size anywhere between 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) for a single mouse and 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) for a full battlestation; your pad is printed after you check out.
The shop has no Yu Yu Hakusho page, so Yusuke's page takes in the rest of the series too: Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei, Botan, Koenma, Genkai, Keiko and the Dark Tournament. All other anime series are on the Anime Mouse Pads page, one level up.
Yu Yu Hakusho in brief
Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1990 to 1994, and Studio Pierrot turned it into a 112-episode anime that aired from 1992 to 1995. It opens with a surprise: Yusuke Urameshi, a fourteen-year-old troublemaker, pushes a small boy out of the path of a car and loses his own life instead, which astonishes everyone in the afterlife, since nobody expected him to do anything selfless. Given a chance to return, he becomes a Spirit Detective, taking on cases involving demons on behalf of Spirit World.
Slicked-back hair and a green uniform
Yusuke's look is pure early-90s delinquent: black hair slicked back with plenty of gel, a confident scowl and a green school uniform, usually worn open. The green gives his art its own palette: forest and olive tones, black hair, and the bright glow of his spirit energy cutting through it all.
Green is an easy color to build around. Dark green keycaps or a green braided cable tie a black keyboard to the mat, and a wooden desk or a plant or two in the background picks up the earthy side of the palette. Neutral or warm-white lighting keeps the greens rich; strong blue light turns them teal.
The Spirit Gun and your mouse hand
Yusuke's signature move is the Spirit Gun: he points his index finger like a pistol and fires a blast of spirit energy from the tip. Early in the story he can fire it only once a day, which forces him to think before he shoots. The pose, finger out and thumb up, sums up the character in one gesture.
The finger-gun pose has a neat connection to a desk, because your own index finger does the clicking. A design with Yusuke at the left end of a mat, arm outstretched and aiming toward the mouse area on the right, puts the blast exactly where you work; reverse it for a left-handed setup. On the L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), the blast can run the length of the top edge above the keys.
Spirit Detective cases
Early Yu Yu Hakusho is a supernatural detective story. Botan, a cheerful guide of souls who flies on an oar, brings Yusuke his assignments, and Koenma, the son of Spirit World's ruler, who looks like a toddler with a pacifier, sends him after demons, stolen treasures and spirits that won't stay where they belong.
Those early episodes have a pulpy, case-of-the-week feel that suits a desk for reading or writing. A design with Botan on her oar against a night sky, or a case file with Koenma's stamp spread across the mat, brings in the series without a battle scene.
Training with Genkai
To get stronger, Yusuke trains under Genkai, an elderly martial artist who lives in a mountain temple and is the toughest teacher he has ever had. She teaches him to focus his spirit energy, and their training scenes, long stone stairs, forest paths and an old woman who never seems impressed, form a stretch of the story all their own.
Training designs suit a study desk or a home gym corner. A temple stairway rising through trees fills a deep mat nicely, and the message is easy to read: progress comes from repetition, not shortcuts. Mossy greens and gray stone pair well with Yusuke's green palette.
Kuwabara
Kazuma Kuwabara starts as Yusuke's rival, a tall delinquent with an orange pompadour who has never won a fight against him, and becomes his most loyal friend. He can sense spirits, forms a sword of energy in his hands and is fiercely devoted to Yukina and to his own code of honor.
Kuwabara and Yusuke make a lively pair layout, green and orange, two loud kids shoving each other. On an XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), each gets one end of the mat, and the keyboard sits in the gap where they would normally be yelling at each other.
Kurama and Hiei
The other half of the team arrived as enemies. Kurama, a polite student with long red hair, is the human form of a legendary fox demon and fights with plants, drawing a thorned whip from a rose. Hiei is a small, short-tempered swordsman in black with a third eye hidden under his headband and a dragon of black flame he can call down on his enemies.
Their palettes set them apart from Yusuke's greens: Kurama in red and pink, Hiei in black and white. A four-person design of the full team works on the 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm), where there is room for every face above the keys and Yusuke can take the center.
The Dark Tournament
The longest arc in the series sends Yusuke's team to the Dark Tournament, a fighting tournament on a remote island where demons fill the stands and wealthy humans bet on the matches. Round by round the team faces stronger opponents, ending with the Toguro brothers, and the arena, the crowds and the one-on-one fights give the series its classic tournament imagery.
Tournament designs fit a desk built for fighting games. A wide arena view on an XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), with the ring at the top and the crowd filling the lower half, puts the action where you can see it and keeps your mouse on the quieter part of the art.
Keiko and the ramen stall
Keiko Yukimura, Yusuke's childhood friend, is the one person who can make him behave, usually with a well-aimed slap. She waits for him through every arc, and in the closing chapters of the manga Yusuke is shown running a ramen stall, a quiet, human ending for a boy who once fought demons.
Designs from this side of the story are warm and everyday: a street at night, steam rising from a stall, two friends talking. They suit a home office or a bedroom desk, and they make a fitting choice for someone who followed the series to its last chapter.
Yusuke's demon blood
Spoilers for the final arcs: Yusuke turns out to have demon ancestry. When it awakens, his hair grows long and markings appear on his skin, and the later story takes him into the demon world, where three powerful rulers compete for control.
Designs from these arcs are darker and wilder, with long black hair, strange markings and a raw landscape behind him, and they suit a black desk with dim lighting. They also make a good choice for someone who knows the whole series and wants something less familiar than the Spirit Gun pose.
A 90s anime on a modern desk
Yu Yu Hakusho was painted on cels by hand, and its look carries the warm, slightly grainy feel of early-90s anime. That feel can sit well on a modern desk if you treat it as a retro theme: a cream or beige keyboard, warm lighting and an older console or two on the shelf. It also suits anyone who first watched the series as a kid and wants a desk that remembers it.
Yusuke on the gaming desk
Yusuke settles everything with his fists, and he fits a desk built for competitive play. The fabric top gives the mouse a fast, even glide for tracking and flicks, the non-slip base keeps the mat still during a tense round, and the stitched edges hold up where your forearm rests. A dark arena or a night-sky design with one bright blast hides wear around the mouse area and keeps the eye on the action.
Yusuke on the small pad
The 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad needs a symbol rather than a scene. Strong choices include the finger-gun silhouette, Koenma's pacifier, Botan's oar or Puu, the round blue spirit beast that hatched from Yusuke's egg. Keep the shape toward the top of the pad, past where your fingers reach, and let a plain green or black ground fill the rest.
Sizes for a Yusuke desk
Designs differ in which sizes they're offered in; check the product page for the list. These are the sizes that suit Yu Yu Hakusho art.
| Setup | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse only | S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) | Puu or Koenma's pacifier |
| Laptop desk | TCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) | Botan on her oar against a night sky |
| Compact keyboard | M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm) | The Spirit Gun blast along the top |
| Keyboard and mouse | XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) | Yusuke and Kuwabara at opposite ends |
| Deep desk | XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm) | The Dark Tournament arena |
| The whole desk | 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) | Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei together |
Got a desk that runs long but stays shallow? The L, 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm), and the 3XL, 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm), are made for that shape.
Gifts for a Yu Yu Hakusho fan
A Yusuke pad suits someone who grew up with the anime, a fighting game player who wants a classic hero on the desk or a friend who has been rewatching the Dark Tournament arc. Choose the Spirit Gun for a gamer, the team for a group of friends and the ramen stall for someone who loved the ending. If you can't find out how big the desk is, the XL at 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) holds a keyboard and mouse together and rarely overwhelms a desk.
Plan for 1–3 business days of production before the pad ships from Turkey, and 2–5 business days more, as a rule, before it reaches a US mailbox.
Keeping the greens deep
Dark greens hide most marks, but oil from your wrist still leaves a dull patch over time. Wipe that area with a damp cloth every week. For a deeper clean, hand wash the pad in a tub of lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse it well, sandwich it between towels and press firmly, then let it dry flat. Keep it out of the washing machine and the dryer, and leave the iron in the cupboard.

FAQ
Questions about Yusuke Urameshi Mouse Pads
Where are Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei?
Here with Yusuke. Yu Yu Hakusho has no separate page in the shop, so the whole team, Botan, Koenma, Genkai, Keiko and the Dark Tournament are covered on this page.
Which way should Yusuke's Spirit Gun point on my mat?
Toward your mouse hand. With Yusuke at the far end aiming across the top edge, the blast lands where you click; mirror the layout if you use the mouse with your left hand.
What colors match a Yusuke Urameshi desk?
Greens and black: dark green keycaps or a green cable on a black keyboard, a wooden desk and warm-white light. Strong blue light pushes his green uniform toward teal.
Which Yu Yu Hakusho design suits a fighting game setup?
A Dark Tournament arena on a deep mat, with the ring at the top and the crowd below, or Yusuke and Kuwabara squaring off at opposite ends of a long one.
Is a Yusuke pad a good gift for someone who grew up with the 90s anime?
It's a thoughtful one. Choose a classic image, the Spirit Gun pose or the original team, and pair it with a retro setup in cream or beige for a desk that feels like the early nineties.
Are Yusuke Urameshi pads licensed by Studio Pierrot?
There is no license behind them. Yoshihiro Togashi, Shueisha and Studio Pierrot don't make, approve or profit from these pads; Padrift drew the Yusuke art and prints every pad itself.
