About Sakura Kinomoto Mouse Pads
Sakura Kinomoto mouse pads for the desk
This page collects Padrift's Sakura Kinomoto mouse pads and desk mats, our own art inspired by the ten-year-old heroine of Cardcaptor Sakura. Each design is printed across the full surface of a 3 mm neoprene pad that has a fabric top, a grippy base and a stitched border. There are eight sizes, beginning at 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) for a mouse and ending at 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) for a whole desk, and printing starts only when your order does.
Because this is a character page under Cardcaptor Sakura, it keeps the focus on her: her costumes, her staffs, her spells and her everyday life. The guardians, the full deck of Clow Cards, Syaoran's rivalry, Eriol and the town itself sit one level up, on the Cardcaptor Sakura page.
A fourth-grader with a heavy job
When the story begins, Sakura is a cheerful fourth-grader in Tomoeda who loves gym class, belongs to the cheerleading club, can't stand math and is terrified of ghosts. She lives with her father, an archaeology professor, and her teasing older brother. Then she opens a strange book in the basement, the cards inside scatter across town, and she is told it is now her job to get them back.
What makes her easy to love is that she never stops being an ordinary kid while she does it. She is late for school, flustered by crushes and frightened by dark buildings, and she goes in anyway. Designs of her pick up that mix: a girl in a fairy-tale costume, brave and a little nervous at the same time.
A costume for every capture
Her best friend, Tomoyo, insists on making a new outfit for nearly every card hunt, which means Sakura appears in dozens of costumes over the series: frilled dresses, capes, hats with ears, wings, ribbons and bows, in pink, white, red, yellow, blue and green. No other magical girl changes clothes quite so often, and the costumes are a large part of why people keep drawing her.
That variety is useful on a desk, because there is a costume for almost any color scheme. A pink-and-white dress suits a pastel setup, a red one suits a desk with warm wood and gold, and a pale blue outfit fits a white desk under cool light. Pick the costume first and the rest of the desk follows.
From sealing wand to star staff
She starts the series with the sealing wand, a pink staff topped with a bird's head, released from a small key she wears around her neck. Later, as Clow's old magic starts to fail her, she makes a staff of her own: pink again, but topped with a star inside a ring with small wings. Both are recognized instantly, and the wand on its own is one of the simplest ways to show her.
A staff is long and thin, which makes it a natural line on a desk mat. On an M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm), it can run from corner to corner on a gentle diagonal behind the keyboard. On a small pad, the head alone, a bird or a star in its winged ring, sits near the top where your palm won't hide it.
Turning Clow Cards into her own
Halfway through the story, the cards begin to weaken, and she can only save them by transforming them one at a time with her own power. Clow's red cards with their sun-and-moon backs become pink cards marked with her star. It is the moment she stops borrowing someone else's magic and starts using her own, and it is one of the quiet highlights of the series.
A design built around that change works as a before-and-after: a red card at one end of a long mat, its pink version at the other, the keyboard in between. In color terms it gives you one warm accent and one soft one, which is handy if your desk mixes wood and white.
Skates and school mornings
Most mornings, Sakura races to school on roller skates while her brother rides alongside on his bicycle, usually teasing her. It is a recurring image from the early episodes, and it captures her better than any battle: fast, sunny and slightly late.
A skating design is the most everyday way to bring her to a desk. It suits a student's desk, a homework corner or a bright room with a window, and its blue-sky palette stays fresh in daylight. Choose one where she moves away from the mouse side, so the motion carries across the mat instead of running into your hand.
Hoe and the comic faces
When she is confused, she says "hoe" (or "hoee"), a small, bewildered sound that has become her catchphrase. The anime draws those moments with simplified, chibi faces, spiral eyes, sweat drops and puffed cheeks. They are funny and very readable at small sizes.
Chibi art suits the 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad best, where a big head and a simple expression read clearly above the mouse. It also suits a younger fan's desk, or anyone who prefers her comic side to the fairy-tale costumes.
Her spell for hard days
Sakura has a phrase she calls her invincible spell: everything will surely be all right. It isn't magic in the plot sense, just something she tells herself and others when a situation looks hopeless, and the series treats it with real warmth.
Set those words in soft script on a pale ground and they become a gentle thing to have on a study desk during exam season. It works on the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size next to a laptop and notes, and to anyone who doesn't know the series it simply reads as a kind sentence on a desk mat.
Afraid of ghosts
For a girl who chases magical spirits through dark buildings at night, she is remarkably scared of ghosts, which the series uses for some of its best comedy. Her brother, who can actually see spirits, enjoys this far too much. Late-night capture scenes are drawn in deep blues and purples with her costume as the only bright color.
Those night designs are the right Sakura for a dark desk. A small figure in a bright costume against a blue night sky stands out on a black setup, and blue or lavender lighting deepens the sky without touching the costume colors much.
Sakura and Syaoran
Her relationship with Syaoran grows from rivalry to friendship to something more, slowly and carefully, across the whole series and into Clear Card. The two are often drawn as a pair, in clearly different colors: her pinks and whites, his green robes.
That contrast splits a long desk mat neatly. With her on one side, him on the other and the keyboard between, an XL at 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) becomes a pink side and a green side. For a couple who share a desk, it is a sweet way to give each half its own color.
Clear Card and middle school
In Clear Card, Sakura has started middle school, her cards have turned transparent and a new key has appeared from a dream. She is a little older and a little taller, with new costumes and new uniforms, and her story is gentler and more grown-up. The art of this era is lighter and glossier, with clear panels and soft gradients.
Clear Card art suits a teenager's desk, or a longtime fan who returned for the sequel years after the first run ended. Its pale, airy palette looks best on a white or light wood desk in daylight.
Small pads for Sakura
On the smallest pad, the simplest features work hardest: her short honey-brown hair with its two small tied bunches, a wink and a peace sign, a pair of small white wings or the star at the top of her staff. Keep the shape high on the pad, above where your palm lands, and a mouse-only Sakura design stays recognizable all day.
Sizes for a Sakura desk
Not every Sakura design is offered in all eight sizes; the product page shows which ones you can order. Here is how the common setups match her art.
| Setup | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse only | S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) | A chibi face or the star staff's head |
| Laptop desk | TCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) | Her invincible spell in soft lettering |
| Compact keyboard | M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm) | The staff on a diagonal behind the keys |
| Keyboard and mouse | XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) | Sakura and Syaoran at opposite ends |
| Deep desk | XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm) | A night capture in a bright costume |
| The whole desk | 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) | A run of costumes from end to end |
A long, shallow desk can take an L at 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm) for a skating scene with more road ahead of her, and a 3XL at 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm) gives a costume design more height than the XL.
Gifts with Sakura on them
A Sakura Kinomoto pad suits someone who grew up with the anime, a younger fan just discovering it or a friend who says "hoe" when surprised. Her birthday in the series is April 1, a handy date to aim for if you order in mid-March. If their desk is a mystery, the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size works next to any keyboard and fits a full-figure costume design.
Printing and stitching take 1–3 business days from the moment you order; the pad then ships from Turkey and normally reaches a US address 2–5 business days later.
Looking after soft pinks
Her pinks, whites and creams are the first colors to look grubby under a resting wrist. Give the pad a weekly wipe with a cloth that is damp but not wet. When it needs a proper clean, wash it by hand in a basin of lukewarm water with a mild soap, rinse out every trace of the soap, wrap it in a towel and press to remove the water, then let it dry lying flat. Don't machine wash it, tumble dry it or iron it.

FAQ
Questions about Sakura Kinomoto Mouse Pads
Which Sakura Kinomoto costume suits a pastel desk?
Any of her pink-and-white dresses, or a pale blue outfit for a cooler pastel setup. Keep the lighting neutral or soft pink at low brightness so the colors don't shift toward magenta.
How does Sakura's staff fit on a long desk mat?
On a gentle diagonal behind the keyboard, from one corner toward the other, on an M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm), or larger. On a small pad, use only the staff's head near the top.
Where are Kero, Tomoyo and the Clow Cards?
On the Cardcaptor Sakura page, one level up. That page covers the two guardians, Tomoyo's camera, the cards, Syaoran's rivalry, Eriol and Tomoeda, while this one is about Sakura herself.
Is there a Sakura Kinomoto design for exam season?
A lettering design with her invincible spell, everything will surely be all right, on a pale ground. It sits beside a laptop on the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size and stays calm enough for a study desk.
Can Sakura and Syaoran share one desk mat?
Yes. On an XL at 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), put her at one end in pink and him at the other in green, with the keyboard between them, so each half of the desk has its own color.
Is this Sakura Kinomoto pad CLAMP merchandise?
It's independent work. Padrift draws its own art inspired by her and prints each pad when you order; CLAMP, Kodansha and Madhouse have not licensed, endorsed or made this product.
