About Sailor Moon Mouse Pads
Sailor Moon mouse pads for the desk
These are Padrift's Sailor Moon mouse pads and desk mats: original art inspired by Naoko Takeuchi's magical-girl classic, printed edge to edge on a 3 mm neoprene pad with a fabric top, a non-slip base and stitched edges. You can pick from eight sizes, from a small 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad up to a 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) mat that runs under keyboard, mouse and more, and we print each one only after it is ordered.
Everything in the series has a place here: Usagi and the Inner Guardians, the Outer Guardians, Luna and Artemis, Tuxedo Mask, Chibiusa, the Moon Kingdom and the brooches, wands and compacts that go with them.
More than thirty years of moonlight
Naoko Takeuchi's manga ran in Nakayoshi, a Kodansha magazine for girls, from 1991 to 1997. Toei Animation's anime ran alongside it from 1992 to 1997 across 200 episodes and five seasons: Sailor Moon, R, S, SuperS and Sailor Stars. A new adaptation, Sailor Moon Crystal, followed from 2014, and the two-part films Eternal and Cosmos carried the story to its end in 2021 and 2023.
The premise is simple and has been borrowed many times since. Usagi Tsukino, a clumsy, kind, frequently late fourteen-year-old in Tokyo's Azabu-Jūban district, meets a talking black cat named Luna and learns she is Sailor Moon, a guardian who fights by moonlight. Over time she finds the friends who fight beside her and the past life that ties them all to the Moon.
A pastel desk with a backbone
Sailor Moon's colors look sweet at first glance, pink, pale blue and gold, but the art is anchored by deep navy skies and the bold primary colors of the sailor suits. That mix is what makes it work on a desk. A pastel setup, with a pink keyboard, a white mouse and a soft lamp, picks up the lighter tones, while the navy and gold keep the pad from looking washed out under a bright monitor.
If your desk is dark, go the other way: a night-sky design with a gold crescent and a few stars sits comfortably next to black peripherals and warm white lighting. The same series covers both kinds of setup.
Five Guardians, five accent colors
Each Inner Guardian has her own color, and choosing one is the simplest way to tie a pad to the rest of your desk.
- Sailor Moon: navy skirt, red bow and gold accents, for a white desk with one red or gold detail.
- Sailor Mercury: Ami's blues, for cool white lighting and blue keycaps.
- Sailor Mars: Rei's red and purple, for warm lighting or a red-accented gaming setup.
- Sailor Jupiter: Makoto's green and pink, for a desk with plants or wooden accessories.
- Sailor Venus: Minako's orange skirt and long blonde hair, for warm lamps and a bright, sunny room.
A group design with all five works best on a wide mat, but a single Guardian on a small pad says just as much about who the person at the desk identifies with.
The crescent and the brooch
The crescent moon is the series' signature: on Luna's forehead, at the tip of the Moon Stick and across the wands and rods that follow it. As a design element it is perfect for a small pad, a gold crescent on navy, simple enough to stay recognizable in the top corner of an 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) pad while your hand covers the bottom.
The transformation items, brooches and compacts that change shape from season to season, along with wands and rods covered in hearts, wings and jewels, make denser designs. They have a lot of fine detail, so give them room: the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size or larger keeps every gem readable.
Luna and Artemis
Luna, Usagi's black cat adviser, and Artemis, the white cat who guides Sailor Venus, are the series' small mascots, each with a crescent mark on the forehead. Black and white, they are the easiest Sailor Moon characters to fit onto any desk, because they go with any keyboard color.
They also make a lovely pair. A Luna pad on one desk and an Artemis pad on the other suits two people who share a room or a couple who work side by side, and it keeps the reference subtle: two cats with moons, unless you know.
Usagi before the transformation
Before she is a guardian, Usagi is a very ordinary student. In the first episode she scores 30 points on a test, throws the paper away, and it lands on the head of a rude stranger who turns out to be Mamoru. She oversleeps, loves sweets and video games, and cries easily. Her friend Ami, by contrast, is the top student in their school, never far from a book.
That gives Sailor Moon an unexpected study-desk angle. An Usagi-and-Ami design is a gentle joke for a student's desk: one girl dozing over homework, the other already finished. A softer, everyday design of Usagi in her school uniform with her famous twin buns suits a homework desk better than battle art, and it looks friendly on a video call.
The arcade and the Sailor V game
Usagi spends much of her free time at the Crown Game Center, the neighborhood arcade, playing the Sailor V game, a video game about the masked heroine who turns out to be Minako in real life. It is one of the series' nicest little jokes, a game about a guardian played by another guardian.
For a gaming desk, that is the perfect excuse. An arcade-themed Sailor Moon design, pixel-style art, bright cabinet colors and a crescent on a game screen, suits a setup with a controller, a retro handheld or a shelf of consoles, and it makes Sailor Moon feel at home among gaming peripherals rather than against them.
Tuxedo Mask's rose
Tuxedo Mask, Mamoru Chiba's masked identity, arrives in top hat, cape and tuxedo, usually by throwing a single red rose to interrupt a fight. The rose is his entire visual signature, and a single red rose on black or navy makes an elegant small pad that reads as romance to most people and as a Sailor Moon reference to the rest.
A design pairing him with Sailor Moon, red rose on one side, gold crescent on the other, suits an XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm), with the keyboard between the two.
The Outer Guardians
The third season introduces the Outer Guardians, and their designs have a different mood from the inner circle: more mature, cooler and darker.
- Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune: Haruka and Michiru, sky and sea, often drawn together, for a two-ended desk mat in blues and teal.
- Sailor Pluto: Setsuna, guardian of the Time Gate, with her key-topped staff, for a dark, deep-toned design.
- Sailor Saturn: Hotaru, with her Silence Glaive, for purple lighting and a black desk.
An Outer Guardians design is the obvious choice for someone who prefers the later seasons, and it sits more comfortably on a gaming setup than the pastel art of the early episodes.
Silver Millennium, then Crystal Tokyo
Usagi's past life is Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom, the Silver Millennium, a white palace on the Moon with the Earth hanging in its sky. Her future is Crystal Tokyo, a city of crystal towers ruled by Neo-Queen Serenity. Both settings are wide, luminous and full of white and silver, which makes them natural desk mat scenes.
On an XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm), the Earth can float above the keyboard in the deep part of the mat, while the palace or the towers stretch along the bottom. Cool white lighting brings out the silver; a soft lavender strip makes it dreamier.
Chibiusa in pink
Chibiusa, the girl from the future who arrives in the second season, brings the series' most concentrated pink: pink hair in cone-shaped buns, pink outfits and, eventually, her own role as Sailor Chibi Moon. Her designs are the sweetest in the range, and they suit a pastel setup, a younger fan's desk or anyone who likes their pink unapologetic.
Cel-era or Crystal
The 1990s anime and Sailor Moon Crystal look quite different. The 90s series has softer faces, rounder shapes and painted cel colors with a slight warmth to them. Crystal follows Takeuchi's manga more closely, with longer limbs, thinner lines and cooler, cleaner colors. Neither is better for a desk, but they suit different setups: the cel look sits well with warm lighting and wooden desks, while Crystal's crisp palette matches white peripherals and cool lighting.
Tokyo by night
Much of Sailor Moon happens in ordinary Tokyo after dark: school streets, parks, the shrine where Rei works and the city lights below. Azabu-Jūban is a real neighborhood, and Tokyo Tower stands not far from it, so a skyline design with the tower against a navy sky and a full moon above it carries the series' setting without a single character. That kind of design is the subtlest Sailor Moon option, and it suits a work desk or a shared office.
Sizes for a Sailor Moon desk
Each product page shows which sizes its design is offered in. These are the sizes that suit Sailor Moon art.
| Setup | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse only | S, 11.8″ × 15.7″ (30 × 40 cm) | A gold crescent, Luna or a single rose |
| Laptop or vanity desk | TCG Mat, 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) | A brooch or wand with all its jewels |
| Compact keyboard | M, 11.8″ × 27.6″ (30 × 70 cm) | Uranus and Neptune at opposite ends |
| Keyboard and mouse | XL, 15.7″ × 35.4″ (40 × 90 cm) | Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon |
| Deep desk | XXL, 23.6″ × 35.4″ (60 × 90 cm) | The Moon Kingdom with Earth above |
| The whole desk | 4XL, 23.6″ × 47.2″ (60 × 120 cm) | All five Inner Guardians |
If the desk is wide and shallow, L at 11.8″ × 31.5″ (30 × 80 cm) or 3XL at 19.7″ × 39.4″ (50 × 100 cm) may fit better than anything in the table.
Gifts for a Sailor Moon fan
A Sailor Moon pad suits someone who grew up with the 90s series, someone who discovered it through Crystal or a friend who still argues about which Guardian they are. Choose by their color, their Guardian or their cat. When you don't know the desk, the 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size sits beside a laptop and under a mouse almost anywhere.
We print the pad within 1–3 business days of your order and ship it from Turkey, and it usually takes 2–5 business days more to reach a US address, which leaves time for a birthday if you order two weeks ahead.
Keeping pastels bright
Pink, pale blue and gold show wear sooner than darker art, especially where your wrist rests. Give that area a wipe with a cloth wrung out in clean water about once a week. A full clean means washing the pad by hand in a sink of lukewarm water with a small squeeze of mild soap, rinsing away every trace of suds, pressing it between towels and leaving it lying flat until dry. It can't go in a washing machine or a dryer, and an iron would damage it; cared for this way, the fade-resistant print keeps the crescent gold.
A note on names

FAQ
Questions about Sailor Moon Mouse Pads
Which Sailor Guardian matches my desk colors?
Match her color to your accents: Mercury for blue, Mars for red, Jupiter for green with plants, Venus for orange or warm lamps, and Sailor Moon herself for a white desk with one red or gold detail.
Is there a Sailor Moon pad that suits a dark gaming desk?
Choose a night-sky design with a gold crescent or an Outer Guardians design. Sailor Saturn suits purple lighting, and Uranus and Neptune in blues and teal suit a black setup.
What size suits a Sailor Moon brooch or wand design?
The 14″ × 24″ (35.5 × 61 cm) size or larger. Brooches, compacts and wands carry a lot of fine detail, and a bigger surface keeps every jewel and wing readable.
Can Luna and Artemis work as a pair of pads?
They make a neat pair: a black cat on one desk and a white cat on the other, both with crescent marks. It suits two desks side by side and stays subtle to anyone who hasn't seen the show.
Which Sailor Moon design is subtle enough for an office?
A Tokyo skyline with Tokyo Tower under a full moon, a single gold crescent on navy or Tuxedo Mask's red rose. Each looks like simple art to coworkers and like Sailor Moon to anyone who knows it.
Are Padrift's Sailor Moon pads made with Toei or Kodansha?
No connection exists. Every design is Padrift's own art inspired by the series, printed for each order; Naoko Takeuchi, Kodansha and Toei Animation don't make, license or endorse these pads.
