About this design
Dozing on its back with the little back-flames still flickering, the fire mouse looks utterly content in this Cyndaquil Pokemon TCG playmat. The Water surface ripples warm around the Fire-type starter while autumn koi swim lazy circles. Even its flames seem half-asleep.
Warm sand, cream and soft orange set the mood, the visual equivalent of a hot drink on a cool day. The sleeping creature anchors the middle, and the muted tones keep the whole thing gentle.
Earthy watercolor washes were layered in soft, blended browns and golds so the pond feels lit by late-afternoon sun. The tiny back-flames were painted with translucent orange over the cream body, a glowing detail against all that warmth. Falling leaves, lily pads, acorns, a knit sweater and a steaming teacup ring the border, the cozy props of a slow autumn morning.
