About this design
Sun-yellow lemons hang from a leafy branch across the deep blue center of this blue Amalfi lemon mahjong mat, white blossoms and cut slices tucked between the fruit, with swallows, a bee and a butterfly darting through. A lemon-vine band steps out to a blue-and-white Sicilian tile border strung with more lemons.
It reads like a painted Positano wall. The cobalt ground makes the lemons pop, tiles read clearly against the strong color, and the tilework edge frames the play like a coastal courtyard. Guests get a bright, seaside-Italy feeling right away.
Each lemon is drawn with a dimpled peel and soft highlights, hung on green branches with blossoms and slices, the swallows adding Mediterranean movement against the vivid blue.
