About this design
A spray of purple and rose iris rises from a fan of peacock feathers at the center of this art nouveau iris mahjong mat, curling teal and gold whiplash scrolls and cabochon jewels framing the bloom, dragonflies and poppies tucked into the corners. A jeweled floral band steps out to an interlaced ribbon border on cream.
It reads like a Tiffany panel. The soft pearl ground keeps tiles easy to read, the iris and feathers hold the center, and the flowing scroll border frames the play with belle-epoque elegance. Guests take in the jewel tones before the first wall goes up.
The iris is painted in violet and dusty pink with gold outlines, rising from peacock plumes and Art Nouveau whiplash curves set with garnet and emerald cabochons.
